Deconstructed lemon tart! Fancy pansy 😛 for the lack of crust, I’d go for a classic lemon tart any day

Best way to end a meal! Can’t go wrong with chocolate and ice cream.

Creamy boozy and nutty! Love all the flavor profile in this little cup. ☺️ Marsala wine sabayon with Sicilian pistachio ice cream.

Rich like chocolate, expect nothing less. Homemade cocoa fettuccine with duck ragout Padua style. Pasta course of the gourmet menu (6 course - $138)

Part of gourmet menu (6 course $138) Got to love a good slice of cod for its buttery flaky fles. This Atlantic cod fillet came with unconventional smoked purple potato mash, in a bed of anchovies emulsion.

Al dente tagliatelle with a very rich and flavorful sauce! Comes with generous amount of Wagyu & foie cubes. Very decadent, but well worth the splurge and calories😋

Typical sardinian pasta that is shaped like a little shell made from semolina and water only. Served with a thick tomato sauce with generous amount of Italian sausage. Very homey and comforting dish! Love how chewy these little shells are. And boy aren’t they pretty

What makes a good ravioli? A made to order thin sheet of pasta from Italian 00 flour, a well seasoned filling, sealed firm, cooked to order, simple yet delicate. The sauce shouldn’t overpower the ravioli but compliment it. .
.
The veal filling doesn’t have a funky smell which was much appreciated, a slight milky savoury flavour and the pasta skin, al dente. Superbly executed considering that it was quite a technical dish.

Honestly I was disappointed when I heard that their famous Homemade Tagliatelle with Wagyu Beef and Foie Gras Ragout wasn’t in their menu this season after I heard so many rave reviews from my friends. Alas I settled for something halfheartedly however the Linguine did not lift my spirits back up. .
.
It could be my high expectations or my disarrayed feelings about a dish I look so forward to having. It was decent, something you expect from maybe say, Pasta Brava? But I must say, they were really generous with the lobster. .
.
For a dinner date, I eat light all day to save room, then I go all in: I choose this meal and this order, and I choose you, the person across from me, to share it with. There's a beautiful intimacy in a meal like that.

Presentation was expected, to be frank it was even underwhelming at times. Yes there’s Caviar, yes it’s one of the highly prized crustaceans from the waters around Mazara del Vallo, a small town on the south-western coast of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea. The Red Mazara Prawn was honey sweet and the caviar lends its salty, savoury elements to the dish that almost completes it, almost. .
.
There seems to be a missing touch and the portion was forgettable. I think fine dining is dying out everywhere... people nowadays prefers Casual Dining but I think there will be - and there has to always be - room for at least a small number of really fine, old-school fine-dining restaurants.

Italian restaurant near tanjong pagar centre. Slightly the more posh italian restsurants, but they do serve quality food and service

Lobster leek tart with scampi sauce ($38)-freshly baked tart, crunchy and buttery, by the time you cut into the cstt the generous amount of sauce just oozed around. fresh lobster, has that nice crunch from bacon 4/5

[This was at Otto Ristorante outside Maxwell Chambers.] A superb dish that I forgot to photograph until I was almost done. The sage and truffle emulsion was amazing and packed a punch of umami. 👊🏼 The filling of minced veal was pretty tasty (a bit heavy on the salt but the buttery sauce helped to balance it) but what’s impressive was the perfectly al dente ravioli!! I don’t know how they manage with such thin sheets of pasta. The quality control here seems great as well - I was told that the chef wasn’t satisfied with his first attempt at my dish and redid it.

Crostata alle Mele e Pinoli con Gelato alla Vaniglia e Salsa alla Cannella
Apple and Pine Nut Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream and Cinnamon Sauce
$16++

This was worth the 30 minute wait! I hereby vote that all apple crumbles have pine nuts in them, because it gives such great texture to it. The apples aren't too tart nor too sweet 👍 I only wish there were more vanilla ice cream to go with this!!

Tiramisu’ alla Maniera di OTTO
Giamaica Coffee Tiramisu’ OTTO

Creamy, & light, chocolatey in all the right places. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste much of the liquor inside, so I'm not sure if I'd order this again.

Spaghetti ai Ricci di Mare e Bottarga di Cabras
Spaghetti with Sea Urchin & Sardinia Grey Mullet Bottarga
$32++

Was warned this might be a bit salty, but it wasn't at all for me. A harmonious mix of umami & creamy, this was very divine. I had no qualms about not having any chunky ingredients to chee on with the spaghetti, because the spaghetti was so al dente, bouncy & flavourful, I didn't need any extra ingredients (e.g. meat, mushrooms, vegetables, etc) to give it any more texture.

Smoked Salmon - compliments of the chef. Not too salty like some smoked salmon are, & the yogurt dressing was so harmonious with the salmon.
