There was a promotion where this whole set is $6.90++ for a whole fish. Really worth it with the promotion

Is been more than 4 years since I had big fish small fish. One of the thing I enjoyed was the free flow sauce. Ordered this student meal ($12.90) but now you can only choose 1 sauce. Kind of miss all the sauces that were available

This was quite a decent plate of fish and crisps for it's price point. The fish was crisp outside and tender inside. It's just a pity that the crisps were soggy quite quickly.

First time I tried this was 2 years ago and I didn’t have a good impression cause their batter was too thick and they only served potato chips instead of fries.
Right now as they revamped the menu with fries it’s great. Their fries were thickly sliced and it was like eating potatoes themselves.
Their improved batter was thin, just enough to coat the whole fish. Skin remained crispy and still moist.
Really enjoyed the improved version so much better. Definitely my go to for fish and chips.

I prefer halibut as it is more moist compared to sea bass.

LEGIT Fish & Crisps! Choice of SEABASS! Love the batter that was fried to perfection thin, light and crispy on the outside while the fish remains juicy soft and moist inside. The size of the fish is huge. What was great is the chips that comes with it! They slice the potatoes freshly and thinly to make the chips and is not at all oily.
Amazing DIY station offers a wide array of free-flowing sauces such as Salted Egg Sauce and  XO Sauce. Enjoy the burst of flavors over an interesting experience when you scatter the fish & crisps onto the table and dig in with gloves. Will be back for sure!

Not a fan of fish? Dig into succulent grilled or fried chicken thigh ($9.80) available at Big Fish Small Fish's refreshed menu. Likewise, you can decide between original or spicy flavour and coupling that with their variety of sides.

For those who seek a more balanced meal, the new offerings of pan-grilled fishes, paired with pilaf rice with sautéed veggies (+$1) or veg salad (+$1) as sides with every order is the answer. Choices ranging from Premium White ($10.70), Sea Bass ($12.40), Salmon ($12.90) and Haddock ($15.90). My favourite being the flaky-fresh salmon.

Or pick the Surf N Turf Platter ($25.90) that feeds two, with a hunk of grilled premium dory, 2 slabs of grilled chicken, 3 grilled shrimps, 3 grilled calamari, a small heap of fries and pilaf rice.

To try a bit of everything, the Fisherman Sampler is perfect for you and your fish loving friends. At $40.40, the bucket of fried goodness consists of Battered Dory, Premium White Fish, Seabass, Salmon and addictive potato crisps.

Now with more options than ever before, Big Fish Small Fish’s refreshed menu aims to deliver a little something for everyone. Apart from their original battered fish (from $7.90 to $15.90), they have turned up the heat with a spicy variant. The spicy powdered mix adding a nice oomph to the signature crispy golden-thin batter.

Ordered the salmon and chips and it was delish though sinful.

Can’t you SEA - you’re always treated to a BIG slab of FISH here at @BIGFISHsmallfishsg cuz they always live up to its name! 😍😍😍 As much as I enjoy their usual menu, I was really stoked to try their newly launched SEDAP menu, with Crispy Rendang Fish & Crisps ($15.40+) stealing the limelight! 🌟
.
Be treated to a chunky cut of fresh juicy seabass 🐟🐟🐟 donning a pretty golden-brown coat of bread crumbs! 🤩 The generous drizzle of spicy & rich rendang sauce 🌶 made this a luxe version with robust flavours that Singaporeans can surely identify with. Topped with aromatic fresh shallots & toasted coconut flakes, the overall taste profile of the dish certainly moved up a notch. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Cant get enough of that rendang sauce & crispy white bait! ❤
.
Dip the thin potato slices 🥔 fried to the perfect crisp into any of their free-flow sauces for a SEAriously good treat! 😉 There's a choice of fries 🍟 or rice 🍚 too!
.
I also tried their Har Cheong Fish Nuggets ($5.40+) - this rendition proves that fish is also a good pairing with shrimp paste besides chicken! ✔ The dory chunks were really succulent 👍🏻 but I wished the prawn paste flavour could be more prominent 😋
.
Cuz ending off the meal on a sweet note is too mainstream, how about adding a savoury element? 💕 Try their Churro Balls with Salted Egg Lava Dip ($5.40+), which features cute little chewy & cakey churros served with a creamy salted egg custard dip that you should totally dunk your churros in! 🤤 Reminds me of the filling of 流沙包! 😉
.
The SEDAP menu is available till 6 Oct 2019 so head down to their outlets soon! 👌🏻 Besides Bugis Junction that I frequent, you can also find them at Northpoint City (South Wing), Punggol East Container Park, Tampines Mall & Jcube (newly opened! 🎉🎉🎉 Good news to the Westies - there are 3 new sauces exclusively at this outlet! ❤)
.
Thank you @bigfishsmallfishsg @growpublicrelations for the SEDAP meal! 😘

$15.90++

And in celebration of the New Menu launch, free flow soft drinks are available for the month of May!
The pan grilled calamari with salted potato and onion was love!

Thanks @kenpgl @singaporefoodlisting @bigfishsmallfishsg for having me!

The fried dory fish is crispy and not oily! The outer layer of crisp sticks with the fish so they don’t separate when u cut it. They have about 6 sauces for you to dip your fish, chips etc! Such flavours like curry, wasabi, salted egg, cheese etc, which are hard to find in other restaurants or fast food chains. However, the mashed potato texture is a bit tough, and tasted like pre-made ones, so this is a bit disappointing.

Student meal; small catch - around $5-6

The seabass is so so good. It’s a lot smaller than dory but it’s a lot more crisp and you can taste the fish better !

There was nice big fillet of salmon which was not too dry for a fried fish but not as moist as dory would have been. The chips felt a little soft and cold compared to the fish as the fish would have been freshly fried unlike the chips which were probably left out. I always feel that these chips feel way more heavy and oily than french fries. The taste itself feels like just eating oil unless you dip into the sauces.
The sauces are always good and every time I go there's something new. This time there was a wasabi mayo which I had never seen before. It replaced the tartare sauce which I love but I didn't miss it because there are so many other good options like the salted egg and curry mayo.
$12.70

2nd time trying Big Fish Small Fish and 1st time trying at Bugis Junction. They had unique sauce of cheese, tartar, curry mayonnaise and salted egg sauce. We ordered 3 x Big Catch Student Meal.

Order is cooked to order so it is popping hot. The fish and chips is not bad especially when dipped with the sauce. However the mashed potato is not that great. What's more, the brown sauce is only a little and it was spilled when we received it.

Will avoid ordering the mashed potato in the future.

The selection of sauces makes everything so much better! There's salted egg yolk, curry mayo, tartar, cheese and chilli sauce. This one portion seems a bit too oily and heavy for one person. Good to share.

2nd try at this fish n chips specialty dining place. Since they are having this $1 promo for 2nd set, why not? Chips are given full to the brim with fried fish. Topped up for a drink plus a soup! Free flow of sauce you can choose from and we had the cheese, curry mayo and salted egg (da best)!
