The har chiong gai chicken ($6.5) was juicy tender and nicely coated with prawn paste batter. If you prefer something cleaner, opt for the clean sides which consist of sweet potato and brocolli. The rendang chicken had a good mixture of spices. The butterfly pea coconut rice did not have a strong enough coconut fragrance to it which was rather disappointing. Overall food was great and will definitely visit again

One of the best nasi lemak ever eaten.
I ordered the standard with har cheong gai and the chicken was tender, so crispy and not that oily.

They are having rendang pasta (also pictured) special now and that was pretty amazing too.

Pretty affordable for the quality - $6ish (additional $1 for the curry veg)

Tip: please dabao unless you want to roast in the heat at their outdoor seating. 😅

Love the Har Cheong Kai chicken in nasi lemak style. And the egg yolks are runny too.

Previously known as “Jia Xiang Nasi Lemak”, the small eatery run by two young individuals has rebranded itself as “Simple.簡”. They remain at the same location of 114 Lavendar Street (CT Hub 2) and still serve a compact menu of tasty and filling rice-centred options at reasonable prices.
A few of us from the @burpple office lunched there today, most of us for the first time, and the consensus is we’d gladly return for more.
Their menu lets you select a type of rice from three options (I went with “Nasi Lemak” for mine - it came with the trimmings of sambal, ikan bilis, peanuts and cucumber) plus a thin slice of omelette and a main protein. Choices for the latter include but aren’t limited to the big piece of boneless “Har Jeong Gai” chicken thigh cutlet you see in my photo, grilled chicken thigh marinated in a “sauce of the month”, and a really shiok Chicken Rendang. On my next time, that Rendang is what I’ll be gunning for. I had a taste of it and found the “rempah” very appetising.

Remember when Jia Xiang Nasi Lemak were making the waves on social media for their blue pea rice nasi lemak? They have since rebranded and they are now known as Simple.简.

We tried their rendang chicken set ($6.50), and we loved it. The chicken meat was tender and the rendang gravy was shiok.

Overall, this is a dish that taste as good as it looks.

Formally known as Jia Xiang Nasi Lemak, @simple.dailyfood2 is a cosy local eatery located at an obscure industrial area in Lavender. Serving dishes that include Nyonya, Malay, Chinese and Japanese elements, you can simply be assured about what they say, “简单食材,不凡味道.”

Not only did they look aesthetically pleasing, they were also surprisingly better than expected. The flavourful prawn paste meat with crispy skin will certainly make you ask for more!
