Gigantic. I'm not sure but probably large. Unfortunately I waited too long so it's a bit soggy and hard.

($10) my mum insisted to order mutton briyani ah but then I felt that their mutton was quite soft and not that hard (overcooked) tbh. I wanted to order this but my sister halt me ah. ๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿฅน

($7) I never tried the murtabak and its gonna to be first time ah. But I felt that the sauce was quite thick and a bit spicy taste. The roti prata was quite slightly overcooked tbh. Overall, I will be returning back for different flavour instead of chicken.

($9) my sister she wanted to order their mee goreng lol but then they didn't sell on weekends ๐Ÿซ . In the end, she decided to get fish briyani lol. Good thing that they deep fried fish before putting gravy inside. We just literally went back to try different dish on their menu. Fish was quite fresh and not bad smell tbh.

($9) I didn't expected that I will be takeaway briyani for dinner last week :") Their briyani got a bit uncooked but their curry gravy got nutty and creamy texture so I really like their gravu tbh. Chicken size was quite smaller in size tbh but the service was quite for takeaway as they alr packed briyani on the boxes in plastic bag.

Zam Zam used to be one of the places to go to for murtabak. However, the clout surrounding the brand for its negative publicity and aggressive touting have led to many unpleasant experiences. In spite of all these, if the food remains good, it is still a place to visit. But, how the mighty have fallen, and fallen hard. The murtabak had a very thick doughy texture while the minced beef filling was tasteless, not even the curry was able to rescue it. Probably give this a miss the next time you think of visiting this institution.

Known for their murtabak, I've had their rendition since young and their quality really stayed roughly the same over the years!

The Mutton Murtabak ($7) was my favourition, with heavily seasoned minced mutton sandwiched between prata dough. The dough is slightly crispy on the outside and chewy within. Paired with their curry, this is one comforting dish I will crave from time to time!

Their Chicken Mee Goreng ($10) also came in huge portions. The noodles were well fried, as they were al dente while being very flavourful! The spice level can be quite high for this one, and it got me ordering drinks together with this ๐Ÿ˜‚ the chicken may be a little dry, but the marination was what got me going for more.

Definitely a place I will come once in a while to get some quality supper fare. Can't wait to be back!

Established since 1908, this popular eatery is known for specialising in murtabak and biryani, serving well-regarded renditions.
.
Uniquely, they offer this beef biryani version of the dish, which is tender with a slight chew, and bold meaty savoury spice flavour from the marinade. Rather satisfying.
.
The rice carries a medium grainy spice sweet note, infused with spices such as cardamom, cloves, turmeric, and black pepper; fluffy in parts and clumpy in others, tasty but could do with more stirring.
.
Some crunchy spiced cucumbers round this out with bright vegetal sweet spicy flavour.

This is decent, with the chicken being super tender, bordering moist and dry, and having decent sweet savoury spice notes.
.
However, the briyani rice was rather muted in taste, and lacks the side of egg.

Named after the iconic holy water, they've been serving some of the best murtabak in Singapore for over a century (since 1908).

This has layers of crisp folded dough with egg, generously sprinkled with tender minced beef. Bold meaty savoury salty eggy flavours, so good.

Back to zam zam to try their Biryani instead and was very impressed. The chicken Biryani ($6.50) had a huge quarter chicken and was pleasantly flavourful. The beef Biryani ($6.50) was even more impressive, with its huge tender, succulent beef chunk. The beef may not be reddish, but it does contain a spicy kick!

Yes, Zam Zam may feel like one of those "tourist trap" places that get by on past reputation, but I assure you their ๐—บ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ธ is good as ever.

The skin was fluffy with a bit of crisp, which perfectly wrapped around the stunningly flavourful filling. The mutton was juicy and exploded with umami, with a tasteful injection of gameyness that blended harmoniously with the spices and the sharpness from the onions. Some places get it too dry or too oily, but this had just the perfect amount.

Singapore Zam Zam vs Islamic Restaurant - which briyani is better? This is my verdict: http://hungryghost.sg/singapore-zam-zam/โ€ฌ

๐Ÿ˜‹ Best Chicken Murtabak in Singapore (Small size S$6). Very delicious and filling so its best to share between 2 persons. Crispy on the outside and the filling was a bit spicy. Its served with curry and also tomato sauce and cucumber. I also like their Teh Terik. Recommend๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Murtabak is a stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread which was commonly found in the Arabian Peninsula and Southeast Asia.

$7 for a whole plate of murtabak daging (beef murtabak).
Very filling and tasty - you can taste the meat and egg with every bite. Not dry, itโ€™s juicy in your mouth and the side sauce gives it an extra oomph.

A big plate for a small girl but I finished every morsel of rice because it is just that good !
Highly recommended to come to this place and plus point - it can be brought onboard the airplane for those loved ones back home !

Mee goreng $5 was very good and tasty and savoury! Deer Murtabak $10 is not tough or gamey. Prata dough could be a little more tender in places but generally good! Deer is supposed to be one of their specialties!
