Halloween chocolate finger- Rich dark choc mousse, banana cream w caramel sponge

I was rather disappointed upon realising that their best selling avocado cake was sold out when I arrived there. Instead, I was recommended this as it's sour on its core which goes well with sweet creamy taste of the pistachio which is highly reminiscent of the actual nut. I will get my hands on the avocado cake one day because sugar thieves is definitely worth many repeat visits!

Being a dessert addict, there have been many a times when I chanced upon lemon cake that looks marvelous on the inside but often end up being too soft, sour or sweet. Finally, sugar thieves managed to turn around those disappointment as the icing was sour which complemented well with the soft and moist cake which was very mild in taste. Their many new creations make me wanna go back to try something new each week. Addiction much you say, go there for a bite and you will understand what I mean!

Sugar Thieves have recently launched their new cake Little Tokyo made up mostly of black sesame! I initially thought the only flavour was only going to be full of black sesame, I was surprised that the matcha was quite distinct, and the yuzu curd brought the whole cake together with it's tanginess, balancing out the goma mousse. While it's stated to have coconut mousse inside, I would say the goma overpowered it because it couldn't really taste the coconut. But definitely a cake I will come back for!

Managed to catch the seasonal items for valentine's day and chinese new year during our visit to sugar thieves.

In the picture: a ferrero rocher inspired entremet and a rose-raspberry tart topped with a macaron shell that reminds you of Pierre Herme's rose isapahan signature dessert.


Macaroon or Tart? Why not both? 😉 Featuring another festive seasonal special from @sugarthieves.co where you get the best of both worlds in one dessert! 💕 A rigid and firm tart shell that was crisp with a lingering buttery fragrance lies a thin layer of raspberry jam followed by a fluffy sponge, the bulk of the macaroon tart comprises of a middle thick layer of rose infused cream - floral and aromatic, along with sweet, juicy lychee bits embedded within and surrounded by fresh raspberries that added a tangy note. The combination of floral, sweet and tangy flavours was a perfect 3-in-1 profile that contributed to bliss and satisfaction to my palate😋. Speaking of which, since when does the bakes here disappoint anyway? 😌 Capped off with a crisp macaroon shell, it can be a challenge to consume this tart with a fork, hence the best solution would be to use your bare hands for the tart and macaroon - forget the unglam, messy moments and just enjoy it to the fullest! 😌 Really glad to have tried the latest seasonal special before I am away to the Land of Kimchi for 4months+! ~ Will certainly miss the cakes here while I am away, but yet I am looking forward to the new seasonal specials when I m back as well! ☺️ .
