($9.30) ($1 for five-grain noodle) I opt out for no milk and also no chinese wine. I kinda disappointed by serving portion for five-grain noodle tbh. The fried fish was not that bad as non-fried fish was a bit strong bad smell aftertaste. I really got thirsty because the fish soup was quite salty aftertaste for a while.
the bowl is hugeee and the fish is fresh and plump! personally prefer the fried fish because there is more flavour. we got the MIXED FISH SOUP ($11), and EGG W PRAWN ($9.80) which was mid. just get the fish soup
Coming here of course you must get their signature fish steamboat, it was so comforting especially having it during raining season.
Available in different portions, so you can go with bigger one if you comes in group.
If you are someone who love having fish head, I believe you would love this. They still comes with generous meat with the bones.
Tasty soup broth with lots of ingredients. They also provide refill of the soup.
Another dishes we gotten is this juicy pork ribs with coffee sauce. There’s only a little hint of coffee taste but not really very obvious as you eat.
This place is so popular that I always seeing long queue in front of the shop, and finally have the chance to visit during this raining season and luckily the queue wasn’t long.
A decent spot for some zhi char dishes to go with their signature fish steamboat.
The pickled radish beancurd is soft and full with flavour. Topped with generous pickled radish.
Decent tofu that was way too expensive for its price. I personally thought it was lacking in flavour as well, though the generous amount of crispy pickled radish gave a nice crunch.

You get both type of fishes here - sliced fish and fried fish. I really like how fresh and tender the fish slices were and how meaty the fried fish was. I thought the soup was quite bland though. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if it’s worth the queue and if I would go back again. That being said they have franchises around, and if it’s made more convenient with shorter waiting times this fish soup would be a decent fix.

Had a steaming bowl of fish soup from @xinyuanji.fishheadsteamboat and it was comforting!
Priced at $9.80 for a bowl of double fish soup, this was definitely not cheap. There were quite a few slices of fried fish and sliced fish, which was greatly appreciated! The fresh fish slices were meaty and were naturally sweet. The fried fish slices were very tender.
Their soup was definitely light tasting, but you can still taste the fish broth within. I very much preferred the soup in their steamboat version, as the umami flavours were stronger.
Still, this is a comforting bowl of soup I might consider when I'm around the area!
Among the longest-serving, most well-known brands, they still attract long queues daily for their reasonably priced and tasty dishes. Queue moves relatively quick, averaging a 20-minute wait.
.
The fresh and boneless mackerel fish fillets, both natural and fried, are served in a generous portion. Large and chunky, yet tender flaky in texture, each fish slice has lovely meaty sweet savoury flavour.
.
The garnishes of crunchy cabbage and juicy tomato, lend lovely vegetal sweet flavour. Nice pairing with fluffy white rice, with grainy sweet notes.
.
The robust broth carries bold sweet savoury salty flavour, from stewing fosh bones for hours. I prefer the rendition without milk, where you can taste the depth of flavour in the soup.

Have been seeing snaking queues at this fish soup restaurant for the longest time and glad that I finally tried!
The Red Snapper Fish Meat Steamboat ($60 for medium) came with several fish meat pieces and vegetable ingredients all heated using charcoal in the middle. The soup, being their signature, really did not disappoint as I was so surprised by the flavour of the broth. It is very robust and had alot of umami. You know they probably cooked fish bones in this for a very long time. The red snapper meat were meaty, though slightly mushy. Don't think this is the kind of fish we truly liked, though I didn't mind. Felt like though this may be a very good fish broth, its really expensive for the amount of fish meat given!
We also had to get their Prawn Paste Chicken ($15.80) which was fragrant and crispy, with pretty succulent meat. Definitely better than average.
Perhaps the magic question is if its worth the queue: I believe you can get good steamboat as well without the 30 min wait, but if the queue is shorter, this is something you can try!
✨咖啡排骨 (Pork Ribs with Coffee Sauce)✨
It is a little pricey, considering how the fish soup was only $5+ for that big bowl. The pork was really tender and chewy, plus it wasn’t dry at all! The coffee sauce also adds a little sweet and bitter flavour to it. The portion was quite generous and is good value for its price, but would like if they had other garnish or vegetables on the side.
💰: $15.80

✨炸鱼肉汤 (Fried Fish Meat Soup)✨
This is the dish I order every time I dine here (and add extra milk😙) The fish is so soft and silky! As the soup tastes quite creamy, the fish is not too heavy, hence it complements each other quite well, preventing this soup from being jelak😌 The vegetables is not the best, as it tastes a little raw and tough to chew. I recommend adding in the small chilli to give a little spicy kick for more enjoyment 😎 Also!! Put rice in your spoon and dip it in! I swear you won’t regret it🤤

mom & i’s favourite! seeing the bubbling, enthusiastic pot of curry when first brought never gets old !! the gravy has wonderful kick of spice to it, and picking the bones from the fish head though is a pain in the ass is sooo worth it for that sweet meat! filled to the brim with asparagus, tomato, beancurd tofu and cabbage. paired with a cup of iced barley truly elevates it to a delectable comfort food :)
Pickled Radish Beancurd, $13.80. One of the MUST ORDER dish everytime we are back here! Simply love their beancurd, super silky, soft and melt in your mouth! It’s slightly pan-fried to beautiful golden with a lil crispy on its outside before soaking in a bed of lightly, fragrant tasty gravy, and finally topped with generous portion of their crispy pickled radish!!! Goes so well with just a bowl of white rice and a piping hot and clear fish soup!
I've mixed feelings about hae bee and I don't like milk cabbage, so this was a tough call.
Their name for a concoction of lime and plum. Likewise, there's a papa drink, of lime and barley.
If this is what they're known for, you all have been scammed. Downright mediocre. I usually finish my soups and I had no incentive to do so. Don't tell me "milk", because I usually skip it to taste the truth. Fish maybe? No, totally negligible. Not even the taste of the batter, which is a very low bar.
Claypot Eggplant, $13.80. First time ordering this dish here and it surprisingly impressed us! Eggplant is so soft that it melts in our mouth, fully soaked in their fragrantly bean paste gravy together with minced pork. It taste so shiok pairing with just a bowl of white rice and we can’t get enough of that mouth-watering gravy! Love how they served this fish in claypot to maintain its hotness!
