10 tiny ones, it's pricey but we dont really have a choice when good madeleines are so damn hard to Find here. This is literally only the second time in my life ive had crispy ones

And crispy they were. I got the orange flavour and the zest comes thru, mostly aroma so thats great. Interior texture was not bad too

They freshly bake it, literally. You have to pay before you order, then wait 10mins for them to bake. Or you can try calling ahead as well, it worked for me but thats not the usual SOP apparently

H20 dessert was rly great! Decadent dark chocolate coupled with yuzu sorbet and chocolate mouse. Was a rly layered & complex flavour that I enjoyed

Been a long time since I last came here, I remember the menu being a bit fancier last time. The range of desserts is rather limited now. Most of the desserts and cocktails and quite reasonably priced, $12 for a small cocktail, $20 for a full glass, this chocolate dessert was $22. (Theres a min spend of $20/person)

The chocolate was really good, light and fluffy, doesn’t get jelak. They even gave us 2 chocolate truffles on the house at the end of the night!

The ambiance was nice, pretty spacious and doesn’t get too noisy, a great place to chill and chat.

✨Yuzu Cheesecake and Mango✨
This is my favourite dessert from this place. The cheesecake was light yet creamy, but also not too jelak. The yuzu on top was sweet and sour, matches perfectly with the not-so-sweet cheesecake below. Mango and yuzu are two flavours that goes really well together, as they are both fruity yet they do not have a strong flavour. I recommend eating everything together; mango ice cream, yuzu cheesecake and the crunchy bits. It will be a mix of multiple flavours and textures, but somehow they complement one another. 💯

💰: $18
📈: 10/10

✨”Twix”✨
The whole dessert is rich and heavy, with the dark chocolate overpowering the dessert. The bottom is crunchy, just like a twix. This goes well with the creamy chocolate ice cream, but I wish the ice cream was a lighter flavour like vanilla. I’m usually a fan of light and fluffy dessert, but this is a good dessert if you are a dark chocolate lover!

[ Dessert Review ] Was very sullenly sitting in my room still feeling very under the weather and lamenting the lack of sweets at home, when a certain someone came to the rescue with these teeny toothsome treats from 2am:deseertbar!

He sent over two boxes: One was filled with adorable matcha madeleines, and the other with dainty strawberry financiers, with each set containing ten bite-sized, freshly baked — yes you read that right — little cakes (bonus: they don’t have cream on them too ahhh!). At 9pm. Love the modern conveniences of living in a city!

You know how even when you’re dining out, you rarely get the luxury of warm, made-to-order dessert? Now you can get that delivered to your doorstep! What bliss!

The madeleines were fluffy and light without feeling too porous nor spongey; these aren’t like the Japanese variants that are heavy with butter, and overly honeyed — they were sweet enough to satisfy my craving while still letting the slight bitter tinge of matcha shine through!

The financiers — which I tend to prefer, heh — were gorgeous! The strawberry was prominent in every bite without overpowering the cake’s innate almond fragrance; the edges were browned crisp and gave great texture contrast against the moist centre — I struggled to not eat all ten at a go because of how satisfying the eating experience was!

As someone who never found a reason to go to 2am:db, this just tipped my ambivalence over. I’m totally up for paying for well-made sweets (or any food really, heh), I was mainly swayed by naysayers claiming the items here are overpriced and subpar. When we can finally dine out again, you bet a certain someone and I are making a special trip down to enjoy their more elaborate creations!

An average plate of fries. The shoe-string fries were well-salted, but sadly the truffle flavour was not pronounced. However, it’s a decent dish for sharing and for those who want something savoury to cut through the sweetness of the desserts there. Or if you have a sweet tooth, you might want to skip this entirely and order another dessert instead.

I like to have my desserts with black coffee since it helps to cut through some of the sweetness and richness of desserts in general. This coffee tasted acidic which I don't appreciate, but the infusion of the cinnamon stick saved the day and gave it a warm, comforting aroma and a taste that is great year-round.

An apt name for the dish, this dessert was full of citrus flavour. From the konatsu (a Japanese citrus fruit) aerated cheesecake and chiffon cake, to the scoop of yuzu sorbet, to the white miso yuzu sauce, the dessert was tangy and with a good balance of sweet and sour flavours. The addition of Bergamot cheese to the dish added a hint of saltiness which made the dish even more refreshing. Overall a good choice of dessert for people looking for something lighter on the palette but without compromising on taste.

This dish comprised several strong flavours. The aerated frozen chocolate and salted caramel sauce it was covered in were sweet, while the Kochi yuzu sorbet was tart and refreshing. The accompanying chocolate soil was gritty and bitter. These components came together really well for a bite that was full of chocolate flavour but not overly decadent.

I wish I could identify what the remaining components of the dessert are, but to be honest, I don’t know. I just know that everything is really good.

The dessert was mind-blowingly good... We were searching for a dessert place that opened till late in the area and I’m so glad we found this hidden gem!

The chocolate brownie/cake was so rich in flavours, and goes so well with the creamy vanilla ice cream. They added popping sugar candy for a super interesting mouthfeel, which made this dish so so unique!

We also tried Cassis Plum ($24) and we recommend that as well if you’d like a more unusual dessert flavour. Each mouth was a different surprise but all the different elements go so well together!

Wanted to celebrate my dad’s birthday but forgot to book a reservation. Luckily there was a small area for us. We ordered the Shades of Green, Oasis and Churros. The desserts were displayed like artworks and all the desserts had great flavours that compliment each other.
The staff also got to know that it was my Father’s birthday and gave us a delectable chocolate praline cake if I remember correctly. The chocolate was not too sweet and very rich. Overall a very good experience and will be back again.

Pictured: dessert with brownies and pop rocks! The pop rocks add such a novel sensation in your mouth, the fizz, fudgy brownie and cold ice cream pair so well. Definitely recommend.

Waffle with blood orange sorbet. Gorgeously balanced, with the sweet chocolate sauce and the tart and fragrant blood orange sorbet. Really nice atmosphere as well.

Forgot the name of this one but it was sOOOO GOOOD. Definitely worth the extra calories. Satisfied my chocolate cravings with its deep velvety chocolate flavour

Spring 5-Course Degustation Menu

A milk chocolate financier acted as a centerpiece for torched meringue, lemon cream and ginger spiced sorbet. Sprinkled around was spice-infused jelly cubes and toasted tiger nuts. A ginger ribbon tuile was delicately balanced on top. It was paired with my favorite wine pairing of the night, Antech Semi Sweet Sparkling, a mellow, sweet champagne. And champagne is always fun.

This was a close second favorite among the five courses. The refreshing lemon flavor threaded through all the elements of the dessert, balanced out the richness of the financier. Yet there was a subtle undertone of spice in the jelly cubes, meringue and tuile that was not too overpowering. The nuts and tuile added amazing texture and crunch to the dish. It was a wonderful end to the degustation menu.

Kinkan is the Japanese name for kumquat, which I have never tried before. In this Japanese-inspired dessert the fruit was paired with pistachio crumble, osmanthus tea gel and shungiku ice cream. Smoked cream, olive oil marinaded pomelo and sprinklings of yuzu powder finished off the dish. It was paired with a glass of Gramona Gewurztraminer, a delicious, sweet white wine. I am thoroughly impressed by the fact that none of the alcoholic drinks had that characteristic bitter aftertaste that comes from cheap alcohol.

The dessert itself was reminiscent of an apple crumble. The pistachio's earthy flavor contrasted perfectly with the natural citrusy sweetness of the kinkan and the tea-like taste of the shinjuku ice cream. It was absolutely delicious and nostalgic.

Spring 5-Course Degustation Menu

This unassuming block of chocolate cake turned out to be my favorite in the 5 courses. I adore chocolate so I was so excited when this arrived.

It was triple layered; pandan sponge cake and Orelys ganache sandwiched Japanese black sugar parfait. The stack was then dipped in a dark chocolate coating. The Orelys ganache totally blew me away. Made from blond chocolate and containing dark muscovado sugar, it was rich, creamy and had surprise bits of fresh grape that popped in my mouth and helped cut through the richness of the dessert. I couldn't stop eating it. I only wished it was larger, it was so good.

Spring 5-Course Degustation Menu

A kaffir lime leaf parfait topped with raspberries and draped in a delicate juniper berry sheet, drizzled with rose gel and completed with sanshou pepper, Fromage blanc cream and olive oil caviar. It was paired with a traditional Japanese shochu, the Koi Shiso.

This was a really complex dessert. I am not a big fan of intensely floral flavors so this wasn't my favorite among the five courses, but my dining partner really enjoyed this one. I loved the melt in my mouth cream which helped blend all the flavors together. The contrasting texture provided by the popping caviar and soft chewy jelly was absolutely divine.

And the way it was presented on a shiny silver platter made it look even more beautiful and delicate.
