No-frills tze char stall that serves a good selection of dishes. Food taste and prices are pretty decent compared to other tze char stores. I ordered the fish head curry that came thick and well balanced with generous servings of vegetables. The curry was not too spicy which makes an excellent pairing with rice. The fish was fresh but I’d prefer a more generous serving of fish 》$26 + $0.50 Rice

An adaptation of their signature pumpkin prawns. Although we didn't get their plump crustaceans, the generous and well-fried chicken made up for it. The sauce was fantastic as always, but as always was less pumpkin and more butter.

Not bad. Oddly only half the pieces of beancurd had seaweed.

Here's a stall that sells quite a number of creative dishes such as pork/chicken with Coffee and Pumpkin sauce (as pictured) - those were pretty good and the flavour was not overpowering. They sell quite a variety of dishes, all were nice except the stingray, which wasn't very worth the money.

Going to Zion Rd Siang Hee Seafood has been a long time coming. When we finally got there, we ordered sambal kang kong, har cheong gai and bbq stingray. Ordered takeaway pumpkin fried prawn, their signature dish which comprises of a sweet creamy pumpkin gravy topped over crispy fried prawns. It was a sumptuous tze char experience.

For stellar zi char, head on over to this popular zi char stall at Serangoon Garden Market. They have quite a cult following, and has the Burpple community's stamp of approval. Take Tastemaker Nobelle Liew's lead and order the Pumpkin Sauce with Butter Prawns ($12), a dish she declares as her favourite among the rest she tried. While it may seem pricey for four balls of prawns, she assures you that each prawn's actually pretty big, crunchy, juicy and fresh. The winning touch however has to be the sauce. Tastemaker Nobelle describes it to be "creamy and luscious, yet retaining a tad of the characteristic sandy mouthfeel root veggies have; sweet yet still slightly savoury, with a tinge of curry spice." We're sold. While you're here, also consider the Pork Knuckle ($18), which is truly value-for-money. This rendition offers a lot of meat for that price (a fraction of what most restaurants would charge) and the skin sports a good crisp.
Avg Price: $15 per person

The pumkin prawns is a must order dish at this popular zi char stall at Serangoon Gardens Market. It is so yummy!

why pay 30$+ in restaurants when you can get equally good pork knuckle at friggin 18 BUCKS!!!! the deep fried pork knuckle was insanely good sigh skin was super super SUPER crispy while the meat remained tender and juicy. seasoned to perfection as well!!!! definitely one of the best zichar places I've been to :-)

JeEEEeeEeZ these are simply heavenly!!!!! sauce was creamy and rich which went so well with the juicy and chewy king prawn!!! prawn was so fresh and the fried skin added a nice crunch VERY YUMZ

Not the best of course, but at S$18 I'm not complaining. There's a lot of meat for the price, and the skin's got a good crisp. Only thing is the meat was dry, and certain parts had a strong porky taste. The accompanying chili made everything better though so no problems with that.

金瓜虾 a.k.a. Pumpkin Sauce with Butter Prawns. Seems pricey at S$12 for 4 balls, but each prawn's actually pretty big. Crunchy, juicy and fresh too. The prawns are coated in a light and thin batter, tasty and surprisingly not at all oily. The pumpkin sauce though: that was the bomb. It's creamy and luscious, yet retaining a tad of the characteristic sandy mouthfeel root veggies have; sweet yet still slightly savoury, with a tinge of curry spice. I don't care what else you order, but if you visit please please please don't leave this out.

Was browsing the @burpple app for their guide on tze char places in Singapore and decided on Siang Hee, which was conveniently located near office. We struck gold with their Butter Prawns with Pumpkin Cream Sauce ($12). Prawns were huge and sauce was at the right consistency and coated thoroughly. Their other dishes such as the Marmite Pork Ribs were outstanding too.

Serangoon Garden Market and Food Centre is one of the must go place for family meals. With many stalls that still hang around from before the renovations, this place brings many good growing up memories. Although Siang Hee is considered a "new kid", the stall did not disappoint with their interesting, not common Zichar dishes. One such dish would be the Pork. Perfectly deep fried to golden brown, drenched in the yellow goodness of butter pumpkin sauce. What can I say? Gorgeous. The hint of curry powder in the sauce give that subtle kick. There is nothing more beautiful than having these crunchy goodness with plain ol ' rice. Just so perfect. #hawkerpedia

$15 for med plate; That's like $3 per prawn! The pumpkin paste is thick and really fragrant. Batter is crispy and not too oily. Other healthy dishes include the prawn paste chicken and fried pork chop

[Serangoon Gardens Way Food Centre] Most people usually head over to Chomp Chomp whenever they are in Serangoon Gardens. However, just a short walk opposite Chomp Chomp is the Serangoon Gardens Way Food Centre that houses an excellent zi char stall. Helmed by the lady boss, Ah Yoke, who cooks all of the dishes all by herself, this is my second time and the food never disappoint. For this trip, we ordered the quintessential zi char dish, Prawn Paste Chicken Wing ($8), that truly defines a good zi char stall from a bad one. It was so wonderfully executed; crispy on the outside and having the umami flavour inside. The prawn paste was also not too pungent, making this dish suitable for everyone.

Was pretty good actually and quite worthy!!! Apparently every time people go serangoon gardens, they will link with chomp x2 so not much people know about this spot but it's actually moved from zion road!

Determined to serve dishes that are unique and reasonably priced, Siang Hee doesn't fail to please. After relocating from its famous Zion Road premises to Serangoon Gardens, the standard is still high, attracting locals by the dozen. Order the signature Tempura Prawns in Spicy Pumpkin Cream, and the super crispy Pork Knuckles that are first pressure-cooked then deep fried..

Left to Right: Marmite Pork | Egg Foo Yong | Sambal Kang Kong | Fried Rice. Everything was great albeit very oily. In search for a cup of tea now:P #dinner #asian #streetfood #hawkerfood #zionroad #foodreview #tgif
