Went to BLWH Seafood 3 weeks ago and ordered their Sambal Kang Kong ($10), Dry Ee Mee Small ($8), Claypot Tofu ($10), and their Prawn Paste Chicken ($12)!😇
Overall ratings 9/10! Food was good as I remembered, and it was super filling for 2 pax😁 Claypot Tofu was mid but the other dishes were 🔥 What's even better is that you can pay by CDC vouchers so + points for that😍 Would definitely head back again!
Went to BLWH Seafood awhile back and ordered their Salted Fish Fried Rice ($6), Prawn Paste Chicken ($8), Kang Kong ($8), and Onion Egg ($10)!😇
Overall ratings 10/10, Affordable food, really enjoyed all dishes n were filling for 2 pax!! Would definitely head back again hehe
This zichar place is famous for their crab dishes, but we went for the usual zichar dishes and they were really great! Price are affordable and the portions are pretty big too! One of the highlights is their braised frog legs ($20 for small) which came in a pretty huge portion already! There is a good wok hei to the frog legs and it's pretty meaty as well. Best paired with rice! I liked the shrimp rolls as well ($15 for medium) as they were crispy and addictive and they pair so well with their chill!
If I'm around the area, I definitely can see myself coming here for a satisfying meal 😻

Support local! Especially this family run resto, located along the cycling tracks of lower peirce reservoir. The Mee Sua ($10) is a fan favourite and it's good for 4-5 people, love how it's cooked with wok hey taste, and the meesua is so bouncy! Plus, unique quail eggs and fresh fish, prawns, squid 🐙 be prepared for a 15 mins wait or so (well worth it)
Chili crab dish very popular, good value too. Butter prawns and prawn paste chicken highly recommended too.
Our first time having fried Mee Sua as we usually eat them in soup version like fish soup mee sua, etc. But 𝗕𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝗵 𝗛𝗼𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 amazingly prepare them in fried version and fried it so well! Mee sua is fried fragrantly till wok hei taste, with generous portion of beansprouts and seafood ingredients such as huge slices of fish, prawns, sotong and fried quail eggs! Tasty seafood taste is fully infused in every strands of mee sua and mee sua is so perfectly textured, not too soggy! We totally wont be able to guess that this is mee sua as it taste like bee hoon but much softer version. After eating this dish, it totally change our impression that mee sua can only be eaten in soup form! This is so freaking good and everyone in our family enjoys it too! ⠀

We can never forget about Ban Leong Wah Hoe when it comes chilli crab and tze char cravings. Their har cheong gai is something we would definitely order when we are there and it is still the best prawn paste chicken I have ever had. Chilli crab is still good but not as good as dining in at the restaurant. Not to forget the longevity noodles for the celebrant which comes with pork slices, fish cake, prawns, squid and quail eggs. The vegs however did not turn out well but it's probably because we dabao and it was left there for a period of time.
With circuit breaker still in place, we have to order takeaway meals for a family birthday celebration. It's a different experience though I still prefer dining out to have piping hot and freshly cooked meals. It's more important to stay home and stay safe.

📍Ban Leong Wah Hoe Seafood.
122/124 Casuarina Road.
Come with sizzling hot with generous portion of spicy gravy, the shrimp are big in size and I really like the softness of their tofu.
Since we only 3 persons here so we got another meat to mate as of their signature chilli crab. It wasn’t juicy as I expected.
Went for some afternoon stoke at the nearby reservoir park and got our dinner here, this place attract lots of eaters during the weekend dinner time.
Their signature prawn paste chicken is a must on your order list here. Fried to the perfection with strong taste of the prawn paste.
My friends sing praises about Ban Leong, so I was really excited to finally try it! The harjeonggai is a tad different from most places, with spices directly on the chicken rather than on batter. Particularly loved the vegetables - both were well cooked and flavourful! The food is good, definitely, but it’s rather expensive for the portion (~$70 for 5 people) and out of the way. Doubt I’d make a trip back specially for this - I reckon that there are other tzechar options that are more accessible & affordable!
By mixing the raw egg into the fried Kuey Teow, it gave the dish a silky smooth finish and umami flavour. I’d have enjoyed it even more if there was more wok hei and also not forgetting, pork lard bits too!
My friend ordered this Mee Sua (S$8.00) for sharing, and I was quite afraid that it was not to my liking, because I would usually avoid Mee Sua in my meals and go for Fried Hong Kong Noodles. Interestingly, this meal was just as good as fried noodles, with a nice “wok hei” and umami was right on point. In addition, the Mee Sua came with seafood and a few fried quail eggs.
On the whole, the dish was definitely sufficient to feed two mouths, but an additional order of Har Cheong Gai would not hurt...
It has been many years since I have visited ban leong wah hoe for zi char and the exteriors of the shop still looks the same! Ordered their signature dishes: the prawn paste chicken and hot plate beancurd. The fried chicken was well fried and not overly oily whereas the beancurd has a spicy aftertaste in the hotplate gravy that resembles a very mild chilli crab sauce that requires more sweetness and savoury flavours to enhance the dish.
Run by second-generation restaurateurs, this Upper Thomson locale has built a name for its Chilli Crab ($60/kg). The crabs are slicked in a rich gravy, which you’ll want to mop up with deep-fried mantou. Expect an average 30-minute queue time — come with patient, crab-loving friends.

Located at 122 Casuarina Road, Singapore 579510. 月光河 Hor Fan, S $8 recommended by the waitress.
