More Reviews of good food at Bing Go Jung (Bukit Timah Plaza)

Didn't like this Bingsu at all! Way too overwhelming with just spam of Nutella and whipped cream. You'd be better off sticking to the normal Flavours than to try this. Having packaged box cookies helped to make matters worse.

They used the a lot more generous with their rice cakes and almonds and shaved iced when they first opened! Nevertheless, I feel like Bing Go Jung gives way more toppings than other Bingsu places even if the ice isn't as smooth. And yes INJEOLMI IS MY FAV FLAVOUR ✌🏻️

But we are done with Tuesday soon, so hang on!

This was dessert we had on Sunday after our curry fish head dinner.

Injeolmi Bingsu (S$12), filled with chunks of rice cake and drenched in soy powder. The ice shavings' really rough, we would have preferred a finer texture. But generous portion though!

We actually added rice cake @ S$1, but realized it wasn't quite needed as the original came with pretty much pieces. But a pity their rice cake is not consistent. As much as our extras were warmed up and served to us with plenty of soy powder, some pieces came in a lump which is hard and non-chewy.

Myself and hubby gave 3/5 stars for this one. The ice didn't taste or melt as smoothly as we thought. But overall it was very nice.

This bingsu is really really chocolatey! With bananas, brownie, chocolate ice cream and coco crunch as toppings, you can have this as a meal on its own :)

P.s. 2 bingsu for 3 people is way too much 😂

Finally settled one of those random cravings in manchester! :))) And I apologise in advance to all of you still stuck in Europe about my increasing photos of asian food 😛

But viewers beware! 1 bingsu can be shared by 3 people, so don't make the same mistake as us to have 2 bingsu for 3. You will be stuffed to death 😂

The bingsu at Bing Go Jung is so good that we actually went there twice in a single day, once before lunch and another time after dinner. And for both times, five of us shared an Injeolmi Bingsu ($11) even though they offer many other unique flavours such as Tomato Bingsu. We literally got a pot of "gold" when we saw the chewy injeolmi (tteok), nutty sprinkles and additional milk with the bingsu.

To those Bingsu lovers, do give this place a shot!Though the place is pretty small, they go big on their portions! You can even share this among four people! What makes it nice is their finely shaven ice and generous portions of their ingredients. What's a pity is that this doesn't flavour doesn't come with ice cream, only some flavours do. Their bingsus are mostly priced at $11.

The waffle was of denser and chewier consistency compared to a Belgium waffle, middling between mochi and Belgium waffles. Infused with cinnamon syrup and peanut jam, where the latter was rather faint in taste, as inspired by Korean street snack hotteok, this was interesting yet pricey at $5. Gave the bingsu here another chance but occasional clutters of ice were disappointingly spotted. Nonetheless the portion made up for it, satisfying 3 of us who were sharing it.

($11) I wouldn't call it the best bingsu but it's quite good! They're generous with the toppings and of course the ice. What's best is that it's just a stone's throw away from school!

Best bingsu in my opinion! Reasonably priced and brimming with lots of toppings like nuts & red beans!! ($11)

Milk-flavoured & Matcha flavoured ice. Bingsu(s) @ $11, Pancake waffles @ $5!

It's my first time trying and I was amazed by how the shaved ice was really like snow flake! It was a good combination even though I'm dislike nuts. Worth the try! 😁👍🏻

Tried this at their newest outlet located at Bukit Timah Plaza, yay near to school. Love the smooth shaved ice and chewy rice cakes in it which gives a unique texture. One bingsu place off my list, many more to go 💦

finally caught up, i bingsued. love the muted sweetness tamed by the tteok (korean rice cakes). tteok also gave the dish a chewy texture which makes it so addictive

Another Matcha Bingsu off my list. The matcha flavour is on point with generous serving of toppings such as red beans, cashew nuts, cut almond and corn flakes. The texture of the shaved ice could be smoother and finer.

First time trying a korean toast for dessert!

Injeolmi toast sees soft warm mochi melted in between delicate toasted bread, drizzled with carnation milk and topped with soy powder. The combination is literally perfect, the soft mochi giving the dish a good texture coupled with the bread and sweet milk. The dish maintained an appropriate level of sweetness, although I could do away with the nuts because I abhor almost all kinds of nuts.

This bingsu was only average to me, despite being my first visit to Bing Go Jung.

The corn flakes provided a good crunch and gave texture to the soft and fluffy shaved ice but somehow I felt this was inferior to Snowman Desserts' bingsus.

Yay to their new outlet in the west. Perfect solution to the hot weather! The chewy mochi in between the ice gives great texture but this is better for sharing.

The quality here is noticeably different from that of the shaved milk ice variants from places like Nunsongyee and O’Ma Spoon – this was essentially a tattooed, golden-haired, uncivilised ah beng ice kachang from “the block” with gritty cashew nuts and cornflakes, as opposed to the more gentlemanly equivalents mentioned earlier which probably attended good schools, made it into mainstream local universities and emerged with recognised toilet rolls. The experience felt markedly coarser and cheaper, but if you go in with the expectation that this is a fancy ice kachang as opposed to a Korean bingsu, you’d be sufficiently satisfied. 3.3/5
