I opted for the softserve in silo, with the twist (charcoal soy & vanilla soy). Good news is that the softserve here is also vegan-friendly! The softserve is smooth, creamy and thick with an intense, distinct and pleasant lingering soya flavour and fragrance. Much better than Mr Beanโs one IMO but of course this comes with a higher pricetag. But well, u get what you pay for ๐. I personally prefer the black charcoal soya flavour which was less sweet and milky as compared to the vanilla soy, with a mild lingering woody aftertaste. However, the softserve machine seems to be inconsistent with the proportion of twist. My first visit comprised of a higher proportion of black charcoal: vanilla soya but on the 2nd visit today, it was vice versa (as featured in the first picture). Really a great pity that the shopโs ceasing operations on 15 April, hurry and head down now to try before they are closed permanently!!๐ฟ

I've been to Dofu twice. It serves some really healthy and yummy black soya ice-cream ๐ I like everything that has to do with soya, so this is right up my alley. Texture of the soft serve is firm and creamy, and the taste has a light soya fragrance. I also like that it is not tooooo sweet :)
I got the regular ($4.90) with two toppings - strawberry and vanilla cocoa granola. I love granola and it went incredibly well with the soft serve! Added a bit of a crunch to it hehe.
My mum got the mix of black soya icecream + black soya pudding and really liked if too!
Unfortunately, Dofu is closing down soon :-( It's such a pity since I really like it ๐ญ But I'm glad that I got to try it before it closes. Hope to see it come back again someday!

Comes with either a mixture of both ice cream and pudding or just ice cream. The black soy bean ice cream is quite ok, the black element of Dofu has invited quite a fair bit ppl. Personally, i prefer the black soy ice cream because the pudding did not taste like pudding but rather watery tau huey.
First time trying and love it. Is a healthier choice and ice cream is more of a creamy side, not those soft serve type. Will buy again.

Add charcoal to anything and it'll immediately look more appealing. Bought an offer on FAVE where a fabulous cup of Dofu with 5 toppings costs only $4.90 (U.P. $5.60)! If you're in for a frozen treat, get a full cup of ice cream; but if you're more into textures, get a cup with half ice cream and half pudding. I got the latter, and while it was good (pudding was soft and silky), my happy heart died a little when I dug into the less cold pudding after having the ice-cold portion on top.
Both the ice cream and pudding were very mildly sweet (which I love), but they sadly lack the soy fragrance that Mr Bean's products have. I would also recommend having your wet toppings (such as fruits and jelly pops) in the middle and the dry ones (such as nuts) on top to prevent the latter from getting soaked. For a truly healthy treat, opt for their healthier toppings such as fruits & nuts and avoid the candies.

Although we were advised to go for 5 toppings which makes it a better deal, I felt that 2 toppings were just as fine. Nothing really caught my attention tho- it would have been different if their toppings were as enticing as llao llao's. Satisfying, really refreshing and doesn't bloat your tummeh. I'll go back for this, but I will have to find someone to share this with. The portion is huge... smaller cups, please!

They started at Yishun Bus Interchange, and have since expanded! I went when they still had a free upgrade promotion, (though on second thoughts I would much rather just have 5 toppings, but the eager sales lady made it hard for me to reject the 7 toppings) and got popping jelly pearls, fresh fruit, granola and coconut! The good news is that their soft serves are completely vegan and they aren't very sweet, making it a healthier treat that you can enjoy with anyone! Would be better if they had more variety of toppings though, as most of it were just sauces and the same type but different flavoured jelly balls and granola. Don't be put off by the black coloured soft serve, it's infused with charcoal and is made with black soybeans which are supposedly more nutritious for you than regular soybeans, so eat up!
Tried Dofu for the first time quite some time back when they first opened at Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange, which is also where the original outlet was located. Ever since then, it seems like they had improved a lot on their presentation โ the swirls are definitely more defined now than before. This is from their second outlet at the basement of JCube.
Much like the first outlet, customers choose if they want a full black soy bean soft-serve base or a base with both black soy bean soft-serve and black soy bean pudding before deciding on the number of toppings to be added. For mine, I have added maple syrup, maple pecan granola, lychee popping balls, aloe vera and fine butter crisps alongside โ the soft serve comes mildly sweet but for those whom might prefer something sweeter, I would really recommend adding the maple syrup to bring the sweetness up a notch. The popping balls also help to add a little bit of a flavour contrast especially since most of the popping balls offered features more citrusy fruits. Soy bean pudding sits at the bottom; smooth and slurpy with the flavours of soy bean without being sweetened. A pretty refreshing dessert for a hot day especially for those who love soya bean like me, given how black soy beans give a more profound and defined flavour than the usual soy bean.
Rich black soy w a combination of tofu makes this a perfect guilt-free treat. With a wide variety of toppings, I strongly urge you to try the different types of โpearlsโ which contains a jam-packed amount of flavor that explodes in your mouth! 2 toppings for this size!

They are guilt free because they don't have added fats and uses natural ingredients! The 5 toppings we chose were chocolate flakes, cocoa granola, oreo, peach and strawberry. The next time we get a cup, we will be more careful with the topping selection as to really have a healthy cup of ice cream. ๐คฃ
