Chicken rendang baked rice - tender and juicy, but a little bland. Wish for the chicken to be soaked in the rendang sauce longer. Generous portion of cheese.

Salmon dish - decent portion too (what you see is half-eaten). Salmon tasted a little fishy on that day.

Great ambience and service. Feedback was given to the service staff and he readily accepted it. Impressive :)

Poor service albeit decent food. Coffee was weak like the service. Server was pompous if anything. Interior overtapped on artificial lighting although it was broad daylight and natural lighting could easily stream in through the whole glass panels.

A relatively new addition to the neighbourhood, the eatery is tucked into a corner at Bishan Sports Hall. The cafe is well decorated with lots of natural light! It was empty when we arrived on a weekend afternoon but soon filled up quickly. The baked salmon ($13.90++) was clean and light on the palate with its mesclun salad and roasted potatoes. Freshly baked, the salmon was sizeable - really impressed me with how well it retained its moisture! The paprika yoghurt on the side was an interesting addition. Service is excellent and the staff are very friendly :-)

although the food took a while to come (was told that they were understaffed), we enjoyed our meal due to the nicely done salmon and the cozy ambience. overall worth it with burrple beyond. drinks wise, was ok. will probably come back to try their bowls after a workout or something.

Ordered the Paprika Chicken and Cheesy Rendang dish and although the cafe was relatively empty, the dishes took ~25mins to arrive. It was also quite warm - it felt like a toaster inside!

The waiter came to explain that as the chicken is prepared from scratch, the waiting time is slightly longer. Apparently, they had reviews in their other concept (Citrus by the Pool) that their prepped chicken was tough and hence they decided to try with raw ingredients.

Well, although the wait was long, I have to admit the chicken was incredibly juicy and tender. The wedges were quite tough though. Probably should have baked it while preparing the chicken 😂.

My boyfriend had the Rendang dish and we found it underseasoned and bland. Quite disappointed ):

Overall, I feel that the cafe is pretty and they serve some neat dishes especially the customized salad bowls. Pity these are not on the Burpple deals. Their marble tables are very instaworthy and the decor is upscale and chic. Personally feel it might be better as a dessert cafe. Probably will be back if they have more dessert items but otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way for this.

Opened by the folks behind @citrusbythepool, @goodbitessg is a café located at the heart of Bishan Sports Centre, making it super convenient for you to grab a good bite before/after your workout. Offering customisable healthy bowls, salads, mains, desserts, coffee and cold brew teas, you can be sure they focus a lot on homemade recipes and preparation methods that can maximise the nutritious goodness and taste of food.

Featured are the dishes we tasted 😋.

For their healthy bowls, what stood out most for me was the use of fresh ingredients, as well as an interesting array of dressings to choose from. You might want to try their Lime Paprika Yogurt.

For those that’s looking for a slightly sinful treat after workout, I’d recommend getting their Laksa Pasta. Generously topped with crunchy taupok cubes, shrimps, hard-boiled egg and fish cakes, this dish can pretty much satisfy your laksa cravings.

Their homemade mushroom soup and cold brew teas didn't disappoint too. Do try their Citrus Splash Cold Brew if you love earl grey.

Thank you @dawnchansg for the invite and @goodbitessg for having me ☺️.
