Charcoal mookata buffet going for $25.9 nett on Mon - Thurs and $27.9 nett on Fri - Sun (Dec promotional prices — usual price at $29.9 and $32.9 respectively) with free flow Thai ice tea? I'm in! 🙋🏻

Just newly renovated at Townshend Road, Huay Kwang Thai boast a clean space for your guilty mookata indulgence. A wide variety of beef, pork, chicken, seafood and other ingredients are available as ala carte buffet order. My picks are the tomyum chicken, marinated pork liver, clams, pork balls, white fish and mama noodles. I like how the pot is big enough so there's enough space to grill the food comfortably! A clear broth that tasted slightly peppery is used for the soup base but I heard that they might be pushing out a tomyum one soon so I can't wait to be back to try that!

After all that intense grilling, it was definitely nice to enjoy some free flow Thai Milk Tea that we can help ourselves to. Definitely one of the most value for money mookata buffet around! #BurppleBestBuffet

Around town around 9pm, still have no dinner and craving for steamboat or mookata? Make your way down to Jalan Besar for Thai Mookata at Huay Kwang Thai Kitchen! The art of Mookata is to cook all the meat on the grill, allowing the flavor drip into the soup. The soup was great. However, the way they slice their meat was inconsistent (some are thick, some are thin, some are not even sliced). It's quite inaccessible without a car. $104 for 5 pax!

Hotpots are not typically associated with supper grub. Here's the million dollar question though... why not? Huay Kwang Thai Kitchen opens from 6pm-6am daily at their Townshend Road outlet (Jalan Besar), and from 5pm-2am on Fridays to Saturdays at their other outlet at Upper Thompson Road. The combination of BBQ and steamboat (moo ka ta) makes for a unique and fun supper experience for groups!

There must be food for the soul.

Heard that this is the first mookata restaurant I. Singapore! One of the few places using charcoal heat source, don't really like those using gas or electric stoves. Really value for money set at $39.90, serves up to 3.
