Seafood pancake fried till crispy. A little bit oily but very enjoyable with the sweet onion soy sauce. $12 after Eatigo 50% discount.

One of the best I’ve eaten. The sourness was just right, and quite spicy. Wonderful as an opening dish to open up the stomach for other dishes. $7.50 after Eatigo 50% discount.

A super sized bowl of chewy noodles that was bigger than my head. It was huge. 2 of us couldn’t finish this, despite our best efforts. The sauce was on the sweet side, with chunks of meat and loads of onion. Only $8 after Eatigo 50% discount.

Secured a rare Eatigo 50% on a Saturday. These ban chan were not refillable if using Eatigo discount.

Always enjoy Korean BBQ where we get to savour freshly BBQ slices of meat. Often, I like to wrap it with garlic and vegetables to have the extra kick and crunchiness.

Marinated beef short rib is a Korean BBQ staple for a reason. I love how the sweet and savoury marinade caramelises on the grill coupled with that smokey finish imparted on the tender beef. So, so moreish!

Not the biggest fan of ordering army stew (as you can easily recreate it at home), but when the craving hits, the one here is filled to the brim with lots of ingredients in a moat of punchy and comforting broth.

I like how this Korean staple is so simple yet so flavoursome, and their rendition didn't disappoint. Chewy sweet potato noodles studded with wood ear mushrooms and lots of veggie strips. Wish there were some meat added into the mix for this price.

I have no idea what this side dish is called but the potato came slathered with a really nice sweet sauce. My favourite side dish here!

A really enjoyable hot pot of soup with a generous serving of tender beef ribs, beansprouts, onions and plenty of other ingredients. Went back to office with a food coma 😅

Heard so much about their pancake being authentic Korean standard. I think what they meant is the pancake batter which is thick (I mean it!) but yet succulent to give it that QQ texture which is truly enjoyable. In my view, it would have been better if they use more onion in it.

Certainly one of the most enjoyable amongst a selection of over 8 side dishes. The finely diced fruits, including apple and some melon brings to life a refreshing palate to this variant from the expected regular mash potato. It almost has that ice cream We got a second helping and almost a third!

The most outstanding dish of the night at this acclaimed most authentic traditional Korean restaurant. The usual stir fried pork I had comes with kimchi, but not their rendition. Instead the sweetness of the onion, capsicum and green onion replaces the tangy kimchi. The red bokgeum sauce looks fiery but does nothing to raise the heat level of this dish. The sliced pork used has a good level of fat and lean meat and softbone which certainly raises the level of enjoyment of this dish.

My kind of comfort food. Japchae is proof that there’s beauty in simplicity — a simple sauté of springy Korean vermicelli, onions, mushrooms, and an assortment of vegetables perfumed with a dash of sesame oil. It was refreshingly light and not at all greasy. The price may seem steep, but the portion is good for 4-5 pax plus other sharing dishes.

Otherwise known as army stew, a favourite among many Singaporeans for its spicy, tangy flavours that never fail to perk one up. Look at the generosity in that hodgepodge of ingredients: spam, sausages, squid, tofu, peppers, mushrooms, and vegetables. Soak up the broth’s goodness with their Korean rice, nicely cooked till it’s moist and slightly sticky.

Crafted by a Korean chef, the 17-page food menu (including their popular value-for-money lunch sets) is their earnest dedication to bring us a taste of Korea’s rich culinary heritage.

Like a well-oiled machine, everything on the table was executed with finesse by the good hands of the service crew. My favourites were the juicy flavour-packed grilled meats, Japchae (sautéed vermicelli with mushrooms & vegetables), and Haemool-Pajeon (pan-fried seafood with spring onion pancake), which stayed crisp through out the meal.

And the best part about having Korean bbq? Not having to smell like one at the end of it. Definitely bookmarked as my To-Gol place when the craving strikes. Thank you @burpple for the invitation and Hyang-To-Gol for the warm hospitality!

🤤 If anyone says that all Korean food taste the same, they haven’t had real Korean food before 🙄

At Hyangtogol you get an authentic spread of Korean cuisine from BBQ to jiggae (stews) to noodles etc.
.
🍴
The side dishes are stellar and we absolutely loved the japchae! Springy chewy glass noodles with the fragrance of sesame and vege.
.
🍴
The Bbq meats were all well marinated but I particularly like the beef short ribs for its tenderness and soy flavour. .
🍴
The seafood pancake managed to keep its crisp exterior and chewy interior after a long while. Best thing is that it didn’t taste too floury. .
🍴
I would definitely recommend hyangtogol for hearty authentic korean food. I am actually heading back tonight for a dinner! .

Thank you @burpple for the invite and @hyangtogol_rc for hosting .

- Spicy black cod fish soup
The delicate texture with mild flavour of cod fish fit perfectly with the spicy soup that has loads of finely chopped garlic .Do note that it contains loads of vege with limited pieces of cod fish
- An array of side dishes (9)
Kimchi , spring onion , sweet potato , salad, bean sprouts , etc . My Bias would definitely be the spicy and sour trad kimchi. Oh yah , you can takeaway if you would like so at $8 . And ice Cream is served at the end of your meal as mini dessert ❤️
- Pan Fried seafood pancake with spring onion
Hey I was looking forward to this dish with loads of seafood like prawn and sotong embedded in the flavourful batter but Guess what , I was so disappointed by the pathetic chopped portions of prawns . Was it even seafood? More like vegetable pancake . However, I still had to admit that I adore the batter and texture of the pancake a lot 😅

Overall , it was an interesting experience by tasting food items that are not sold often in other SG Korean restaurants like the spicy black cod fish soup but give the pancake a miss if you're a seafood lover like me!

Be awed by the big plate of pretty marbled beef. 😍 Japanese style shabu shabu is pretty straightforward but for the Korean style shabu shabu, there are many sides to eat with the meat, and we get to savour with or without the spicy and sourish elements of kimchi. See how we enjoy the hot pot the way we want to. 😄

We started off by pouring in all the vegetables to add sweetness to the savoury broth. Then we enjoyed the first 1/3 of the beef by dipping them in ponzu and/or sesame sauce. We spiced things up by throwing in the "young" kimchi and juice from the "aged" kimchi then savour the next 1/3 of the beef with the slightly crunchy "aged" kimchi. Finally, it was time to put in the homemade noodles and devour the last 1/3 of the beef, creating our own kimchi beef noodles soup. The flour from the noodles thickened the broth, making it extra delicious. 🤗
