👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

To quench my thirst, I ordered the Iced Tea ($2.10). It was super sweet and milky, but I loved it nonetheless. Although, I may have to welcome diabetes soon if I keep indulging in these sweet drinks! 😂

If you're looking for something lighter, the Idly Set ($3.40) is a good option. It consists of 2 steamed rice cakes served with sambar and chutney. The idly itself was soft and fluffy, and the accompanying dips were simply delectable.

Next, I kapo some of the Mysore Masala Dosai ($6.80) from my friend, which was even more filling, as it was stuffed with spicy potato mixture to add an extra kick of flavour to the dish. The combination simply send me to nirvana.🤣

A thin crispy pancake made from lentil and rice flour, served with sambar and chutney. The batter was nicely toasty and the sambar and chutney were absolutely delicious.

Met that one last bwraincell that say its not that far then proceeded to bring us walk from Farrer Park rather than Little India to the Vegetarian eating place all thanks to his poor map-reading skill. Lucky the food delicious or else he will be my meat on the table. 🔪🤭🤗

It's not bad, the spices were there and not overly sweet. Mainly cardamom coming through

Honestly just go in and show them this picture it's easier than finding something on the menu. They will ask you to go to the second floor, where the sets are eaten and it's more atas.

The thosai was crispy and quite thin but not the best I've had. Still very good, and is absolutely huge. I doubt many people can finish the entire set

The veggies were absolutely delicious. There's a creamy spinach stew that's very comforting, and the stir fried green beans were flavourful and well executed too.

From left to right for sauces(first 3 spicy, next and top not spicy):
My favourite, a mild tomato sauce with considerable depth and a bit of heat. It's really, really lovely
The white slow burn sauce that's very traditional with thosais
A yellow sour sauce
Dhal curry, pretty good
Lastly on top is some kind of creamy, very mild sauce that has a particular taste to it. I quite like it but can't tell what it is

On the right the dessert was delicious, not ridiculously sweet and there's a nice milky taste to it, while the raisins brought bursts of sharp sourness

From delicious dosais, to sumptuous thali meals and aromatic South Indian coffee, @komalavilas1947 is one of the biggest mainstays of Little India, and also a proud bearer of the Singapore’s Heritage Brands. Guess what? They have over 4.3k Google Reviews and an overall rating of 4.2⭐️.

👉Dosai Meal - SGD10
Paper/Masala Dosai, served with 3 vegetables, sambar, chutney & kulambu

I got their Masala Dosai which was packed with generous amount of mashed potato fillings. As for their vegetables which changes from time to time, I really enjoyed the ones I had that day - cucumbers, lady’s fingers & long beans. Totally no idea how they were cooked but most importantly, the flavours managed to excite both my taste buds and imagination. And finally not to forget their sambar, kulambu and 3 different chutneys that gave rise to countless unique flavour combinations. All in all, simply just eat how ever you like/enjoy it!😋👍

Was introduced to my first Vegetarian Biryani ($9.50), and was so pleasantly surprised! The Biryani included a variety of side dishes and the best was the eggplant one, that was so flavourful and aromatic. The rice was very fluffy as well, good enough to eat on its own. Best of all, it came with 2 papadum 😍😍

Dahi Vada (An Indian curd based chaat) to top off my puri bhaji.

Was craving Indian food, was satisfied with this sumptuous Puri Bhaji.

Ordered 3 sets that was $16.50 in total. Super worth and very yummy. 10/10 would go again! Sadly didn’t have time to get the Masala Tea :(

Drop by this double-storied shophouse on Serangoon Road that's good for conversations over hearty food. Start with their Vadai Set ($3) for crispy yet fluffy, savoury lentil "donuts" served with a side of chutney. For mains, share their Dosai Set ($8.50) for a generously-sized paper dosai accompanied by a varied selection of vegetable curries, sambar, chutney and kulambu. End your meal off on a spicy and sweet note with their Masala Chai ($1.80).

I just love Dosais I cannot even 😍 I tried the crispy paper-thin dosai at Komala's for the first time and imagine my joy when I first saw the huge rolled up Indian crepe! I had it plain, just dipped in the accompanying daal, but to get it crispy do note that it will definitely be oily than the non-crispy version!

Ordered the thosai set. Was so surprised to see the size of the thosai! It couldnt even fit the plate. Love that it came with a variety dips and sauces. Really authentic place, most of the patrons were Indians, with a few tourists around.

The food is great - but greater still to eat it with my best friends.

Set in two floors of a shophouse unit along a busy stretch of Serangoon Road, Komala Vilas has been serving fast, tasty food since 1947. Head upstairs, order at the counter and take a seat as they bang out your food in no time. Have their standout Vadai Set ($3), fried savoury lentil "donuts" that come with chutney. Vadais can be unsatisfyingly cold and limp, but the ones here are always crisp on the outside and very fluffy. But what you're really here for is their Dosai Meal ($8.50, opt for the Paper Dosai over the heavy Masala) — a humongous paper dosai the length of your arm served with three vegetable curries, sambar, chutney and kulambu. This is a filling meal that can be shared by two for lunch, and will no doubt satisfy any thosai cravings you're having. Don't forget to end your meal with a cup of warm Masala Tea ($1.80) and you'll leave happy and full.
Avg Price: $10 per person

Check out the bubbly-ness in this mini cup. Kuhreamie-liciously awesome. Typical mamak teh with extra tarik. And not forgeting the ghee thosai at the background. These two just go very well together. A match made in Tekka. #halal #vegetarian

Another check in my to try list! One of the best paper Dosai I've had in SG without a doubt, with the evident taste of lentils in the batter and right thickness and crispiness of the crepe! Kudos to the recommendation of @Jayne (-: ! They serve decent naans here but would suggest skipping the Rawa Dosai and go for the paper/plain one!
