More Reviews of good food at Malaysian Food Street

used to love the claypot rice here but standard dropped after covid :( it's not bad now but it's not good either

touristy and overpriced but this was actually not bad ๐Ÿ‘€ a lot of pork & soup was flavourful

Metres away from the new Gourmet Park, here still serves better hawker food. This wine-laced soup was delicious, the fish and prawns were plump, and there's also scallops.

Since I donโ€™t have plans to travel to Kuala Lumpur anytime in the near future, I yelped with joy when I spotted โ€œKL Hong Cha Pork Noodlesโ€ at Malaysia Food Street in @rwsentosa. Itโ€™s all @blueskiescottoncloudsโ€™ fault ๐Ÿ˜‚ If she had not shared on her Stories about enjoying the real thing in KL, Malaysia which is where she is currently at, I wouldnโ€™t have been harbouring such a insatiable craving for Pork Noodles.
Anyways, the one I stumbled upon turned out to be very tasty. Not sure if it can match the original across the border but I was a happy camper. The soup was robust and properly seasoned, and alongside the soft โ€œkway teowโ€ were slices of pigโ€™s liver and lean pork, lumps of minced pork as well as crunchy pork lard. The food arrived piping hot and tasted fresh. It wasnโ€™t exactly cheap at $9 but it did leave me sweaty (from slurping the soup) and satisfied.

Chicken rice ($8 nett)
$8 dollars for chicken rice?

Yup. But it tastes like normal 3 dollar chicken rice.

You're better off eating in kopitiam before coming over to RWS. Unless you're confident of making a killing at the casino, then i guess you probably have cash to spare.

Was disappointed. Not flavourful or fresh enough. I've had better ones. Will go for the EAT @ion should I craves for it. Not cheap either, $8.50

Locals will find the prices here exceeding steep, but Iโ€™m always surprised to find that the food here is actually good! The chendol ($4) is one of our favourites - theyโ€™ve kept it simple with beans and pandan jelly, but the amount of gula melaka and coconut is sure to impress you!

Fancy some piping hot Sha Bo / Bao Zai FAN (claypot rice)? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Itโ€™s been a while since I last had a good pot of claypot rice (not counting the lousy one I had at Malaysia Boleh at AMK Hub) so it was indeed delightful to savour this Heun Kee Claypot Chicken Rice ($11) at Malaysian Food Street at RWS! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
.
Cooked over charcoal fire, the rice was incredibly loose & flavourful when mixed with the generous amount of sauce which has a good mix of sweet & savoury (leaning towards the latter which I really like!) ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ The best part โ€“ THOSE BURNT RICE that are super fragrant & crispy!! โค Who cares about carcinogens - I just gotta scrap these gems off & polish them clean. โœ” Accompanied with some lup cheong (Chinese wax sausages) & huge chicken chunks which were well-marinated & quite tender, this made both a filling & fulfilling meal! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
.
Ended my meal on a sweet note with Taiwanese Tau Suan ($5)! ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค Featuring fine shaved ice slathered with tau suan (mung beans), chewy black tapioca pearls, sweet attap chee, slippery grass jelly & huge red beans, flavoured with evaporated/coconut milk & palm sugar syrup, just mix everything up & indulge in this sweet treat! ๐Ÿ’• Tasted just like chendol especially when the ice melts as the aromatic palm sugar syrup dominated the bowl, which I totally didnโ€™t mind. ๐Ÿ˜‹
.
In the background is my handy @gastonluga backpack that Iโ€™m bringing everywhere cuz itโ€™s super versatile & chic. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž Quote to enjoy 15% off all Gaston Luga products, with free shipping & free tote bag till 3 Jun 2019! Donโ€™t say bojio~ ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Would you love some Ayam PenYET? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Here at RSW Street Eats, youโ€™ll be scooting over to Waroeng Kita from Jakarta, which brings you their East Javanese style Ayam Penyet Belado (smashed fried chicken with spicy sambal) at $8.50! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
.
Just who can resist some perfectly crispy chicken fried to golden brown โ€“ I sure couldnโ€™t! ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค The well-marinated and meaty chicken thigh was tender and moist, making it a satisfying experience chomping down the meats! ๐Ÿ’•
.
Donโ€™t be deceived by that spam of chilli ๐ŸŒถ โ€“ it is not spicy at all! Perfect for those who canโ€™t handle spice well but it sure was a miss for me. โŒ It would definitely be more shiok if the chilli carried a fiery kick! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

No meal is complete without some desserts right? Here at RWS Street Eats, youโ€™ll be utterly spilt for choice! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
.
Tuck into a bowl of Durian CHENDOL which comes with a generous serving of durian puree atop the aromatic pandan jelly & soft adzuki beans covering the fine shaved ice drizzled with coconut milk! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š It will be equally enjoyable to have some Ice Kacang with grass jelly, sweet corn, kidney beans & attap chee drenched over cooling shaved ice. ๐Ÿ’• Perfect to combat the sweltering heat! For those going for the traditional taste, go for the coconut tarts in flaky pastry base, or the wide array of nyonya kuehs from Mollyโ€™s Kueh. ๐Ÿ˜‹
.
If youโ€™re looking for a lighter treat, Mango Passionfruit Soft Serve ($6) or Durian Soft Serve ($8) by @TheWickedCream.sg would be your thing! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ Alternatively, indulge in a Melon Bowl ($15) ๐Ÿˆ that gives you the natural sweetness of melons with roasted ice cream sโ€™mores, popping juice pearls & an ice cream cone for dรฉcor. ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค
.
Up your IG-game by laying your hands on the artisanal handmade floral jelly cakes from @WishingUponACake (heart-shaped at $15, mini flower domes at $16/$28/$40 for box of 2/4/6). ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿคฉ Coming in flavours such as Apple, Lychee, Mango & Passionfruit etc., Iโ€™m super impressed by how intricate & exquisite they are! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป You can also customize your agar agar cakes, just like this Unicorn one! Certainly a great gift option! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Here at RWS Street Eats, you can catch the acclaimed Top Chef Vietnam 2014 finalist Steven Long live in action preparing his signature Beef Noodle Pho from Vietnam ($9)! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Who thinks he is pretty charming too (swipe to the last pic)! ๐Ÿ˜‰
.
With a generous amount of beef slices & silky smooth pho in a light yet flavourful broth ๐Ÿ’•, youโ€™re bound to have an unPHOgettable time here with this yummy bowl of piping hot pho! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ Best to chase away the chills of a rainy day! While the chunky beef shank was overly tough for my liking, the slices of beef shabu-shabu were thin & tender. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Overall itโ€™s still a comforting bowl! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Somehow I just like soupy stuff that warms my tummy. ๐Ÿคค Find this at RWS Street Eats at RWS Malaysian Food Street, happening now till 12 May only! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Those with a sweet tooth will certainly find joy in these freshly made churros with gourmet sauces by @ChurrosRepublic. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Fried to the perfect crisp on the external while remaining slightly fluffy & chewy inside, the sugar-coated churros were simply delightful, even on its own. We tried their most popular Crรจme Brulee Churros ($9) and it sure did not disappoint! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
.
Featuring handcrafted churros, homemade custard ๐Ÿ’•, caramelised sugar, topped with a sprinkle of icing sugar, blueberries, strawberry jam and vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce drizzle, this was certainly the BEST way to end the food trail on a sweet note! ๐Ÿ’ฏ
.
Looking for something more affordable? Their Tokyo Drift ($5) comprises 5 handcrafted bite-sized matcha sugar churros ๐Ÿ’š with homemade miso caramel sauce. For a safer choice, try their Mini Fun Box containing 5 handcrafted bite-sized cinnamon sugar churros with a choice of dark chocolate ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿซ or salted caramel sauce.
.
You may even get a cup of their homebrewed Butterscotch Brew to wash down the sweetness of the churros. ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค That butterscotch foam that carries a savoury element compliments the sweetness of the soda, making it a smooth & palatable beverage. โœ”
.
Itโ€™s time to lay your hands on these CHU love treats! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Head down before this street food extravaganza is over! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Thank you @rwsentosa for hosting & @oo_foodielicious for the invite! ๐Ÿ˜˜

Favorite dish!

The famous @bali_porkstar is now in Singapore, thanks to the RWS Street Food 2018 which has assembled a strong showing of Indonesian, Malaysian, Vietnam, Thai and Singaporean hawkers and eateries under one roof at the Malaysian Food Street at Resort World Sentosa.
๐Ÿ”ธ
This dish created by Chef Andris has lots of pork collar fried till crispy, and refreshed with herby scent due to the use of lemongrass and kaffir lime. There's also a little bit of chilli padi within to add a little heat. It's good, even the rice was soft and fragrant.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Available only from now till 19 August at RWS Street Eats. Admission is free, just need to pay for the food. I'll be back the following weekend!

Dr Leslie Tay actually flew to Vietnam to learn how to make traditional Vietnamese summer rolls from Chef Steven Long, Top Chef Vietnam 2014 Finalist. And he has created a Singapore version of it, using flavours we all love.
๐Ÿ”ธ
His version uses satay sauce mixed with pineapple for the dipping sauce. And that roll included vermicelli, strawberries, cucumber, and pork belly grilled till it came with nice char and smokey scent. It was slightly heavier in flavour compared to the traditional Vietnamese roll, but it's still refreshing through the use of strawberries which lightens the dish with its fruity sweetness.
๐Ÿ”ธ
It's only available at RWS Street Eats 2018, from now till 19 August. Free admission, don't miss this Singapore Shiok Roll when you're there.

itโ€™s not exactly cheap, one plate of Char Kway Teow is about $8-10. But the food here always satisfy my tummy๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿคฐ๐Ÿป I always order 3 things here: Hokkien Mee, their Hokkien Mee is Malaysian style, dark sauce and thick noodle YUMS. Char Kway Teow (white), can taste the charred noodle and get a slice of chinese sausage at every bite. SLURP. Lastly, i will always order their Claypot rice, now the claypot rice here have enough sauce to cover all rice and so delicious!
This time i also found a new love- Assam Laksa. Not as spicy as it looks, the noodle is so springy and smooth, with the hint of sourness and very slight spiciness, Slurrppppp๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ’ฆ

Tender, generous and enough fat. Still good despite eating hours later.
