Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar

1587 Wishlisted
With its late night dinner and bar bites offerings and very comprehensive drinks menu, Nassim Hill, nestled in the Tanglin Post Office building, brings new energy and excitement to the downtown dining and bar scene. With its extensive drinks list that includes a variety of beers on tap, wines, whiskies, boutique malts, champagnes, spirits, liquors and cocktails, Nassim Hill becomes the perfect spot for the ultimate pairing between great cuisine and drinks. Taking centre stage is an enormous marble counter that seats up to 20 something one might find in a medieval tavern. Customers in Nassim Hill are encouraged to share dining space and mingle at the counter and the communal tables, and tap their own draught beers at the end of the counter, where the taps are located. The bar also serves its unique all-day signature cocktails such as Yuzu Breeze or Dirty Sriracha Bloody Mary and has the longest happy hour in town for draught beer pints from 9 am to 9 pm. The bistro is also well known for its famed malt-flavored Stout beer bread, used in their signature Hot Reuben sandwich. Taking a spin on classic dishes, the bistro also offers Spicy Eggs Benedict and Chili Crab pasta as well as healthier alternatives such as their generously sized Detox Salad, The Nutty Bird and Asian Chicken salads. All eggs used are antibiotic and hormone free. If you are interested in holding your event, birthday or wedding at Nassim Hill, please contact [email protected]

This mushroom risotto with assorted wild mushrooms and porchini inside was incredibly tasty. It’s very rich tasting and the cheese in the risotto complements the earthiness of the mushrooms well. There’s also a lavosh wedged into the risotto so you can mop it up with that! This risotto is on the thicker side, but I loved how umami it was. Totally wiped up this dish.

Went back to Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar to try other dishes with my family and these fish and chips were quite good! The batter wasn’t overly thick and didn’t just become soggy or flake off, and the Atlantic cod inside was cooked perfectly! It was tender and had a stringy texture resembling that of crab or stingray. Very delicious when paired with the tar tar sauce! My only gripe is that I felt that the chips would have been better if they had been thick cut chips- the thin shoestring fries felt a bit out of place.

In the pic: the best brussel sprouts I've ever had, and 3 dips with sourdough bread and lavosh. I've always shied away from brussel sprouts as I didn't like the bitterness but these were deep fried to a crisp and so fragrant, without any hint of bitterness!

We also ordered the Spicy Impossible burger which came with a really generous thick patty (yummm) and the burrata pizza 😍 my table also had the seasonal bowl of mussels.

As a vegetarian, I'm really happy with how Nassim Hill constantly tries to expands its vegetarian offerings over the years, I'll be happy to keep going back, and bring my friends too 🎉

Crispy and boneless. Actual serving has 4 pieces.
We also ordered Cheddar cheese bacon waffles and it was delicious.
We use burpple 1 for 1 dinner set which the dessert was carrot cake $8 and no other choice.
Nice place to chill.

Greeted with Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar’s refreshed menu, I have found a new love that is DIPS - specifically their Zesty Hummus and Taramasalata Dip! Offered during dinner, the Trio Dip Sampler ($27) comes with 3 dips and a bread basket.

Totally yummus, the Zesty Hummus Dip ($9/ala carte) was delicately nutty and tangy; thanks to the notes of bright, fresh lemon zest. The chickpeas and tahini blend was also rendered smooth, not overly gritty like some others. Another healthy and delicious vegetarian dip is their La Bomba Veggie Dip ($9/ala carte). Well-balanced in the roasted red peppers department, it includes eggplant, mushrooms, and tickle of spice from the use of jalapeños. To counter the heat, dig into the recommended Taramasalata ($10/ala carte), a savory smoked cod roe dip topped with chives. Enjoying the umami goodness, I was utterly impressed by the flavour combination and superbly creamy consistency. Not forgetting the crusty homemade sourdough and crispy sesame lavosh ($3/basket) which proved to be perfect vehicle for swiping swathes of dip into the mouth.

Thank you Burpple for the invite, Nassim Hill Bakery for feeding us as well as Brenda and Audrey for hosting us!

At $3.80++ each, these donuts were sinfully good! They were more on the cakey side. A lot of time and effort was put into making the kaya from scratch at the bakery and you could taste the fruitfulness of their hard work! It was a little on the sweeter side but maybe that's because I had it after the chocolate, which was less sweet than the kaya. A decadent dessert to end the day!

Thanks to Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar for hosting the eatup so graciously and generously! Also, thanks to Burpple for the invite!
