Al Azhar opens till 2am daily, so this go to spot for late night supper, even at 1am, also damn crowded.
Al Azhar has a very extensive menu, got seafood, got Indian food, got Muslim food, got Zhi Char dishes also.
Tandoori chicken(whole chicken)- the chicken must be deformed or born without hands, because the chicken wings were missing from this order for whole chicken. The bbq taste was damn good, one of the better tandoori Chicken I ever had, honestly. But the missing chicken wings are a little worrying.
Maggie Goreng- very flavourful, seasoning taste very distinct. Quite a solid dish
Chicken Cheese Murtabak- I always have Murtabak when I visited Al Azhar. The serving is damn huge la, and the corners of this Murtabak is crispy. Chicken was rather dry though. Really struggle to finish, so huge.

Their rendition is functionally the baseline standard.
.
With medium sized, chunky boneless king fish, flaky and lean with mild smoky meaty spice savoury salty flavour.
.
Served with a crunchy juicy cucumber and red onion salad, with vegetal sweet spice notes.

🍹Passionfruit Peach Tea w/ Honey Lemon ($4.90 a la carte)
Suuuuper sweet, it kinda just tasted like really sweet honey lemon juice. I don’t find it that worth the price but nice presentation.
🍗Succulent Crispy Skin Chicken ($9.50)
Chicken is bussin. The skin is really crisp while the meat is juicy. My friend said the coleslaw was great too.
🍟Fries with Meat Sauce & Egg ($6.90)
The standout dish of the night, this is basically bolognese but instead of spaghetti, the carbs are fries. The egg was flowy and the sauce was savoury. Because of the nature of the dish, the fries do get soggy fast, which is the downside, but price wise pretty worth it.
🍄Fried Chicken Chop w/ Mushroom Cream Penne ($10.90)
I found the penne to be really creamy but a little underwhelming. The penne had a bit of an odd, slightly firm texture, and the sauce was a little on the blander side. It was pretty milky but nothing great. My friend who ordered this wasn’t a fan.
🍝Fried Chicken Chop w/ Salted Egg Spaghetti ($10.90)
Yes I ordered this because I decided that good health is for the weak. The fried chicken chop is pretty dang solid, its tender and crispy and juicy. The salted egg spaghetti was bussin too, the salted egg taste was very prominent and impressed my salted egg obsessed-self.
Their rendition has the most pronounced use of fresh and pureed tomato, including large sliced tomato and tender sliced red onions, resulting in a thick creamy chunky gravy with vegetal sweet savoury spice flavour.
.
The boneless cream dory fish fillets are moist and flaky, absorbing the tasty flavours of the gravy. Feels like there's more vegetables though.
.
You can request more or less spicy, as the default packs a mild heat.

Founded by Jimmy Soh in the 1970s, this humble hawker stall has grown to be a household name, with outlets across Singapore.
.
Best known for their fried chicken wings amd barbecue chicken wings, the former has a crisp light golden batter with a juicy crunch, while the latter has a sticky smoky marinade with a moist tender bite.
.
Their chicken wings have lovely meaty savoury sweet spice flavour, perfect for snacking or as a side dish. Some stalls have a dipping sauce of garlic lime chili for pairing, shiok.

Sized for 2, their generous portion makes it easy to share.
.
The boneless chicken chunks have a fragrant smoky aroma, and borders dry and moist; a more generous rub of yoghurt would be good.
.
Flavour is on point, the mellow smoky salty spice notes overlaid on the meaty savoury sweet flavour of the chicken.
.
Better when paired with the mint dipping sauce for its bright herbal sweet flavour.
