This is seriously good. Proper Japanese standard for pudding, woddly and creamy soft. Flavour was excellent, the strong egginess comes through with hardly any stench.

On the sweet side but still balanced

Must try

Food was average, but service left a bad taste.

Visited Grin Affair recently, attracted by a clearly advertised discount. However, when it came time to pay, the manager refused to honour the discount. There were no disclaimers stated anywhere on the listing, yet when we pointed this out, there was no effort made to recover the situation — no apology, no alternative offer, nothing.

We even kindly suggested they update their listing to avoid misleading future customers, but our feedback was brushed off with indifference.

Overall, very disappointing experience — not just because of the discount issue, but the poor attitude towards customer service. Definitely not a place I would recommend or return to.

Oozy kopi gao pancake has nice fragrance of kopi filling which is not too overpowering the pancake. Perfect pairing with classic soya meal (low sugar 25%).

🤓 Daifuku is a subset of Mochi : daifuku has red bean paste filling (anko/tsubuan from adzuki beans) whereas mochi filling could be any fillings or none at all!
🍀Buying Tips🍀 A green mugwort daifuku (sold at chateraise) has middle hole (not that someone poke it). This is in contrast to the white mochi one.

Single scoop gelato on crispy brown waffles with mini marshmallows, rainbow sprinkles, drizzle of chocolate sauce and icing sugar.

I tried the Yubari Rock Melon and Hokkaido Milk gelato which were both thick and creamy. The Yubari Rock Melon was refreshing and milky, just like a combination of rockmelon and milk while the Hokkaido Milk gelato is just something simple, creamy and milky that won’t go wrong with waffles. The staff is friendly and helpful in recommending flavours based on one’s taste buds/preferences. Sampling is also available upon request. I also had both the peach and rose organic tea which was fragrant, refreshing and helps to cleanse the palate after some sweet treat.

It’s a nice place to chill and relax. The shop is open till late at night (2AM on Fri & Sat), good for some late-night sweet treat.

》Waffle $4.20 + 1 Scoop $3.80 + Pot of Tea $5.50

tried the valhorna dark chocolate, as well as a full waffle with jackfruit + peppermint & black cookie scoops! the waffle was warm n soft inside and the chocolate ice cream was super yummy

I am sure most of us have heard and enjoyed a banana split but how about a goreng pisang split!

The goreng pisang split is Swensen's Singaporean take on the old American favourite by substituting fresh bananas with deep fried batter coated banana fritters.

It was surprisingly enjoyable but if you think ice cream is sinful enough, this dessert is probably going to make you wince. But I mean we only live once right?

The chilli crab burger completes Swensen's triumvirate of National Day Specials.

It was unfortunately the weakest link as well.

The soft shell crab was greasy rather than crispy. I am personally never a fan of soft shell crab burger to begin with because it is troublesome to eat without using your hands and its definitely gonna get messy. The sauce couldn't stay on the soft shell crab and was basically dripping all on the plate.

The chilli crab pizza was also one of Swensen's National Day seasonal offering.

The pizza crust was rather dry and overly bready and kinda reminded me of a frozen instant pizza. The toppings though saved the day as the mixture of chili crab sauce, crab and cheese just could not go wrong. Be warned though, the sauce somehow tasted more spicy on the pizza!

Swensen's seasonal menu can sometimes be a hit or miss affair. Their National Day Specials this year though was simply superb.

I am a big fan of their salmon and mushroom baked rice but they might have triumphed that with their chilli crab baked rice. I wasn't expecting much but ended up being pleasantly surprised with the generous amount of shredded crab meat in the baked rice. I was even more surprised by how well the sweet and spicy chilli crab sauce worked with the crispy baked cheese layer, and left us craving for more.

All of us loved this dish - question is, will swensen make this a regular menu item!

Light, fluffy and moist swiss roll with a very generous uji matcha filling in the centre. Once again, this is a decent choice, but there are better options to choose from. Rating 6.8/10

Squarish daifuku that's covered with rich dark chocolate powder; surprisingly good value given that there were two tiers of daifuku in the cup. I would recommend this to those who appreciate dark chocolate. Rating: 7.3/10
