One of those rare Indian stalls with a wide menu. Admittedly I went quite simple. This set has fish curry, yam with peas, vegetable medley, papadum. Generous rice and curry variety always help. The two sides were fine. Unfortunately the fish wasn't the freshest.

A go-to place for coins.

The prices were also very reasonable.

Modern food hall by day and bistro bar at night, B.E.D. is located in the industrial buildings of Tai Seng, right beside BreadTalk HQ. Admittedly, it was difficult to find our way once inside. The space was huge and had a variety of food options like a sushi bar and chinese restaurant. Well, we were here for their newly opened 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 stall. Located at the back of the Tai Seng Food Hall, they serve up assorted vegetables and side dishes you will usually find at a 潮州糜 place.

We had their signature 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($𝟳.𝟱𝟬). This was a generous slab of pork belly served upon a mountain of white rice along with sliced beancurd, half a braised egg, and peanuts. The pork belly here was well done and had a fat to meat ratio of about 70:30, which delightfully melted in our mouths.

They are currently running a promotion for the steamed fish. You can order a 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 for only $8.80! They guarantee fresh steamed fish at an affordable price. Fishes available include 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗿, 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿, subject to daily availability.

This place is famous for its cheap and good crispy prata draped in croissant-like flakiness. The prata is buttery, not too oily, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. You know their prata is crispy when it’s crackling while using utensils to tear it apart. Each order is accompanied by tangy fish curry and sugar sprinkles if you request them. This has got to be one of the better prata stalls out there so be prepared to wait as the queue can get quite long on weekends.

Came on early morning to grab some breakfast. Gotten their plain and egg prata and enjoyed it much.

Fluffy for the egg prata, while the plain prata retain the crispy texture. They used mutton curry to go with the prata here.

I would recommend you to sit along the alleyway to enjoy the outdoor dining experience.

I find their prata a bit thinner than others which is exactly how I love my prata to be less doughy type. Their prata is light crispy, slightly chewy, fluffy at the same time and not overly oily too. Choices here include Plain Prata, Double Egg Prata, Egg Cheese Prata, Mushroom Prata, Egg Onion Chilli Prata to more fanciful one like Prata with Banana & Cheese. They also serves up a wide variety of Indian-Muslim food from Briyani, Mee Goreng, Nasi Goreng, Mee Hoon Goreng, Maggie Goreng, Kway Teow Mutton, Roti John, Murtabak, Dosai etc.

The banana added a light sweet contrast that didn’t overwhelm.

Coin Prata
Extremely crispy and fragrant on the outside, but gives way to a soft and chewy centre. They are not overly thick or thin. Such a delight.
