Service was soooo slow I think they were severely understaffed or sth n food was rly meh tbh :’) Actually grilled salmon was nubbad but if we didn’t have burpple beyond 1-1 rly not worth af hahaha. Blooming onion was good but super super oily and took 28362929 yrs to come so when it finally arrived we were q full alr LOL. Prob won’t be back
Made a reservation a month ahead to celebrate an special occasion. Reached and saw that there was less than 5 tables dinning, It was during peak hour on a weekend.
Ordered the New York Strip in medium-rare and it came almost an medium-well. The piece of meat was over salted and one side of the steak was nicely seared and the other side almost looked like it was steamed with little browning. The bf ordered the combination No Rule Paste with chicken & shrimp, the chicken was dry and tough while the shrimp was your typical crunchy frozen shrimp. The only good thing about the meal was the corn on the cob.
With the amount I spent there, I could have went some where else and gotten cheaper and better steak, twice. Staff was friendly though.
Got this steak medium rare. The steak was firm and juicy, but not impressive and the seasonal vegetables were a little too dry. Was worth it only with 1 for 1 with burpple beyond!
The Typhoon Bloom (S$15.90) was described as “hand-cut, fresh onion strings” in the menu, but it turned out that I was presented with a mountain of onion rings.
I was okay with the flavours of their special seasoning to the food, but fretted upon the portion of onion rings. Strangely, the portion could be easily conquered by two persons if they came in strings, but just seemed overwhelming when served chunky. Not cool, because I was still confused over my degree of liking (or disliking) towards it.
Since it is a steakhouse, you would think their steaks wont disappoint. IT WAS A DISASTER.
STEAK:
I ordered their best seller, a new york strip medium rare. The fat was not rendered, so it still tasted raw, steak was not seasoned. The meat texture was tough and rubbery overall.
SIDES/ SAUCE:
The price of the coleslaw is $3.90. The given portion is even smaller than your regular sized KFC coleslaw. Yes i kid you not. It was sour too. The accompanying sauce for the steak was salty and it honestly tasted like concentrated chicken stock. Overall it was a bad experience. I took the recent bad reviews here with a pinch of salt and i regret it terribly.
Steak is juicy and goes well with the sauce. Not worth for normal price, going with 1 for 1 deal is fine.
What exactly: “This is the steak lover’s steak. Well-marbled, juicy and savory ribeye. Have it seasoned and seared with our secret 17 seasoning blend or chargrilled over an open flame. 10 oz. (284 grams).” — menu. Came with two sides so I chose rice pilaf and mashed potatoes.
Price on menu: $49.90
Thoughts on food: Dry, overpriced, meh. Rice was decent.
Will I order this again: No.
Will I visit this place again: Even if there is 1-for-1, I would rather spend my money elsewhere. Also there is a nasty odour in the restaurant, smelled like detergent that did not dry properly.
Also, if you are using two BB deals in a receipt, they basically offset the cheapest two item.
$55
Ordered two exactly same main and drink to share the deal with a friend. Portion was good, sides were tasty. I had mashed potato with seasonal veggies while my friend chose fries and loaded potato. Drink was a bottomless soft drink. Gotta love bottomless drinks during meals! Had my steak medium doneness as usual, one small area of the steak was medium rare, not too big of an issue for me cuz I usually switch between medium and medium rare. $55++ for dinner for two, totes worth it. The only downside was perhaps the service initially. The server gave us our mains without cutlery, we had to raise our hands to request for them, an acceptable minor hiccup for us.
Good quality sirloin steaks but they were a little over done to my request (medium rare). Sides were mediocre.
Based on reviews I read, seems Outback has been improving on service and tables. We had the shrimp caesar salad $21.90, toowoomba pasta $29.90 and ribeye steak (ordered medium) $47.90. Caesar could use more cheese and better quality shrimp. Toowooba pasta had the same subpar shrimps and is of acquired taste. Steak is decent but is not cooked evenly, some parts on the outer was almost raw while center was bloody. Cappuccino is not great a choice but I just needed coffee. For main sides, I recommend the mash potato, not the fries and avoid the main’s peppercorn sauce. Initial bread served hot with butter is good. Overall, much improvement needed at the kitchen to keep customers coming back. For $100 for 2pax (net after burpple beyond deal) on the quality and portion, I unfortunately cannot recommend until kitchen improves.
So I came here and ordered the steak pasta (best seller) firstly i waited nearly an hour to get the food secondly when we got the food I was not impressed the beef cubes looked dry and when I put it in my mouth it was indeed very dry and rubbery ... It took me a lot of effort to chew and the pasta also very underwhelming it tasted just like normal hawker Bolognese but with the price of a restaurant
We chose medium for both the ribeye and sirloin but they turned out to be medium well instead. Other than that, the ambience was not bad and complimentary bread was yummy. $70 for 2 pax in total.
Very generous portion made from real onions! Think they cooked the onion before deep frying. So you get to enjoy without suffering the repercussions of stinky breath!
The medium rare steak was done perfectly. Queue was Long yet service standard was excellent. Satisfying experience.
Big serving, juicy and tender. Slightly lacking in the seasoning.
Would highly recommend the rice pilaf and coleslaw.
Would not recommend adding the sauce on the steak.
Only worth it with burpple 1-for-1
I would give it 5.5/10..
Ordered 2 medium rare; one came as medium, one as medium rare. The medium rare is more juicier and tender.
Overall its a Good meal.
When meaty cravings hit, satisfy them at this steakhouse in Orchard Gateway. If you can't decide between steak or ribs, the Baby Back Ribs and Sirloin ($43.90) gives you the best of both worlds.

The ribs were tender and soft, definitely fall off the bone material! Could be a tad heavy handed on the sauce.
Lamb was mediocre, with the chosen loaded baked potato served cold (think normal baked potato you can find at Astons), although accompany sauce was really good.
A hit and miss but overall really good deal and value with a wide variety items to choose! FYI Drinks had limited choice
We didn't have to use beyond as their 1-for-1 lunch set amounted to almost the same. We had pork chop and brick chicken(chicken breast).
They served complimentary warm bread which was a delight to us. Brick chicken was hard to cut but wasn't that tough, and it came along with a simple salad. Pork chop portion was huge. Quiet ambience.
Won't pay full price for it.
