Tried the Black King Ramen ($15.90) and was pleasantly surprised by the flavours 🤤🤤 Also really liked that there is the option to personalise the bowl of ramen - from the soup thickness, to the toppings.

Went to the store with no expectations, but was thoroughly surprised by the unique taste of the Basil Ramen! Although the ramen did not look like the conventional ramen, it was an interesting and pleasant experience.
The portion size is larger than average and very filling.
Also tried the chicken karaage, which was crispy and tasty.

It was a pleasant experience at Ramen Nagi, but would recommend going in small groups of 2-4 people as the outlet could get crowded.

Really love the thick broth here! But what I love the most is how customisable everything is- from the choice of pork (sliced pork or pork belly) to the amount of chilli (even for the original broth!). Go for the pork belly because it’s super tender and well-marinated. I went all out with the amount of garlic too and boy, it just made the broth even better. Although their rendition of beansprouts is not as nice as Keisuke’s, they make it up by providing yutaka takana (spicy preserved mustard leaves).

A veggie broth ramen topped with basil, olive oil, and a generous servings of fried shallots. Instead of pork bones, the soup base was cooked with seaweed, mushroom, and cauliflower. Mixing it in, it was a harmonious marriage of Japanese and Italian. I could not get enough of the flavourful and robust soup! The noodles were cooked to perfection (I chose extra hard). Opt to add on an egg ($2), with a perfect lava centre.

Service was great, the staff was very patient to explain the whole menu. Also, the decoration brought me back to Japan.

Would return!

Service and food were really good. The soup was fragrant which blended well with the squid ink. The squid ink did not stain my teeth like I expected it to. The egg was flowy and delicious. The interior design of the restaurant is really unique and I felt like I was in Japan. I loved the open kitchen concept in the restaurant where I can see the chefs meticulously preparing my food and my food was served hot immediately.

So I went to Ramen Nagi and ordered their normal flavored ramen with the “chef recommendation” option. The good thing about Ramen Nagi was the customizability of their ramen. Patrons have a choice of different noodle textures, spice levels, amount of seasoning, amount of garlic in their ramen, different toppings etc. Personally I think it’s great that they allowed customers to do that and it’s not a things you see in most ramen stores. When it came to the ramen the first thing that caught my attention was the glistening pork broth. The broth was thick and really rich with flavor. The noodles were the traditional ramen noodles that you have in most places. A good accompaniment with the flavorful broth. The charsiew was tasty and goes so well with the noodles and broth as well. Overall a delicious dish to all ramen fans.
