Love the crispy skin. Full of flavour
It’s the second visit with the husband. He decided to give the seared prawn pasta a try. Being a seafood fan, it’s not hard to win his heart. The penne was cooked al-dente and really huge in size, meant to soak by the prawn and garlicky bits. For garlic haters, the overpowering fragrance (?) of garlic might seem rather nightmarish. For garlic heaven, you’ll love this to bits. It’s a great seafood option, but I wouldn’t say this is much to scream about or travel for. Priced at $26++, this is rather steeply-priced. Thanks to Burpple, we got this at $13++!
Here on our second visit, the husband and I decided to try other pasta options that we haven’t tried prior. So here’s featuring the beef cheek pasta, cooked with chunks of beef cheek. Again, the pasta was cooked al-dente and well coated with pasta sauce infused with red wine. Relative to the duck tagliatelle that we had, the pasta sauce wasn’t as well picked up by the spaghtetti tho. I also would prefer the pasta sauce to be thiccccker and less liquid-y. The beef cheek was tender-licious, and would certainly bring about a greater mouthfeel if there weren’t diced into small chunks. I’d prefer it to be in a dollop as it is - there’s always joy in tearing the meat slices with a fork. Overall, it’s certainly an above-than-average pasta as expected from our new favourite pasta place but I’ll stick with the Duck Tagliatelle on the next visit!
Ordered two pastas:
Beef shank pasta (in the photo) was average. Beef was slightly tough, and did not melt in the mouth.
Duck confit pasta was slightly better. Duck was flavourful.
Cafe is located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood.
The mains, desserts were all so good. Great taste and everything is well balanced!
Beef patty was good. Fries were thin & salad was huge portion
