Happening only for this weekend (actually yesterday & today), STREAT #SingaporeFoodFestival is filling up the Marina Bay air with whiffs of cooked meats & local delights!
One of my favourite items were these dishes from @restaurantibid! They are the Chinese Beef Curry Bowl ($15), Laoganma Sashimi Tartare ($15) & Yuanyang Kakigori ($12).
The first comes with Cantonese style curry short ribs, brisket, tendon & tripe atop sesame rice, & pickled black fungus. The short ribs were cooked perfectly; so soft it might just melt in your mouth. Paired with fried laksa leaves and rice crisps, every mouthful is a flavour bomb on its own.

The fries themselves were on point β crisp yet fluffy and perfectly seasoned, however I could hardly discern any beef, beans or chilli for that matter in the very lacklustre sauce. Go for their special cheese sauce instead.

from the travelling COW food van which will be at marina promontory every Friday in April 2014. this is a bit salty but pretty decent portion for $6. I also like their beef burger ($9), which I tried at the u-factory.

only managed to order these two dishes and the stalls were out of food by then. well, at least we managed to catch the fireworks which was unexpected.

first up is the peppercorn steak from the feather blade. texture is nice but there's no nice beefy flavour. and peppercorn is kinda weird for me to have it on beef. would most probably try a classic version given the chance in the future.

and the second and last dish is the braised duck rice we all know and love. we did not feel we overpaid for this though. the bowl was packed with ingredients and that includes quite alot of duck meat. typical duck rice. no complaints from us.

The Kopi O flavour has a strong coffee candy scent and tastes just like the candy but in biscuit version. Kaya Toast flavour was pretty much a disappointment as Kaya fragrance could barely be detected. Itβs more like white chocolate with hints of coconut instead.. Overall, I guess itβs worth trying the Kopi O.. Itβs an alternative for peeps who doesnβt like hard coffee candies.

P.S. Got my hands on these at Streats 2019 but if you miss this opportunity, you may get it at all @YakunKayaToastSG outlets from 14 July onwards. FYI, the entire process from queueing to paying took me 20mins.

No fear if you missed it though, most dishes there by the participating stalls are available at the individual restaurants. Take our Watermelon Fried Rice - weird as it sounds, it worked well as a combination of refreshing watermelon and hot, savoury fried rice by @ginkhao and an extremely addictive Hai Tod Hariyani (Southern Thai Fried Chicken). Another is Crab Pad Thai by @folkscollective.

1st Grilled Lamb Ribs $12 from @Longchimsg the lamb is absolute beauty and melts in your mouth.

A combination of sweet and savoury from the ever popular Thai fried rice noodle dose with splash of tamarind at the end. The noodle here is more al-dente compare to those normally find in Thailand. While the crab meat lend a brainy natural sweetness to this dish.
