Our very first meal in Bali was at Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen, a popular spot in Seminyak for Nasi Babi Guling. Their signature dish comes with pork satay, lean sliced pork, a piece of crisp skin, pork skin cracker and other different pork parts, with lawar (vegetables cooked in herbs, spices and coconut milk), rice, and sambal. I must say this was really quite enjoyable, especially when everything is mixed so all the different flavours come together! The crisp skin was thick and delicious, and the sambal was quite fiery too! Overall, a cheap and good makan option in Bali!

The crackling pork skin is sooo good too, the difference is only at the mix side dishes.
The place is bigger, the service is faster, the place is easier to reach as it’s in the middle of city.

We were suggested by a local to try the Babi Guling at this place. Babi Guling is a roasted suckling pig (a very special Balinese dish) With almost 2k review in google for this eatery, we are sure it can't be wrong.

Served only Babi Guling set in 2 versions- non-spicy and spicy. We order 2 spicy sets and the pork rib soup come first followed by the dish. Crackling pork skin complements well with spicy pork cooked in various ways served with pork satay. Each set is IDR 45k. We will pay a visit again! 👌😊👍

Close up of my porky dish, put together with different pork parts. My favourite was the simple pork slices cooked in a potful of spices. It's simple cooking method brought out the complexity of the spices, a sure-win for me! And I'm still bummed that I got charged tourist price........
The chilli here is at hot as..... The sun!
Online sources say that the Babi Guling should cost only 20,000 idr. Looks like I still can't pass off as an indo with my tan 😪

Revisiting a newfound fave for lunch today. Love just about everything here – the minced ginger and green chilli, minced garlic and red chilli, a variety of crispy, crunchy pork skin in different ways, tender lean pork.... Gonna miss this loads when I'm back in Singapore!
A little hiding stall located near the Sunset Point Shopping Centre. Very friendly service crew. Thanks to tripadvisor's recommendation, they receive a lot foreign visitors. .

They only served one dish - fried, deep fried and triple deep fried pork! All were good but my personal favorite will be their stir fried pork with their special chilli sauce. The aromatic chilli paste just kept my mouth drooling! 😋😋😋
