I loved how aromatic this was when they served it to me, and the generous amount of wok hei flavour in this dish! The XO sauce really elevated the savouriness of this dish, and the bits of pieces of egg were kind of my favourite part of the dish because it was very appropriately salty or “giam” as the dialect might put it.

Lotus Leaf Glutinous Rice $5.80

Decent lotus leaf glutinous rice. It came with a pretty decent amount of ingredients for its small size. I liked how one unit of this actually gives you 2 tiny glutinous rice at just $5.80, which I thought was pretty bang for the buck! This is especially so when glutinous rice is more filling than other dim sums, but the portion size here was just right.

Think your normal prawn rice flour roll, but instead of fresh prawns, you have a crispy slab of prawn cake within. A very unique experience for me because I was trying something like that for the first time. It was extremely savoury because the crispy exterior of the prawn cake would absorb the surrounding light sauce, yet still giving a very, very good crunch with the soft and silky rice roll. Personally, I have no gripes against this but if you’re already choked with fried dim sum, you might consider just getting one with fresh prawns in it as it might get quite oily and filling. Whether or not I will get this again would largely depend on my mood — but I’d still highly recommend you to try this though!

The faint color of these fritters may not look the most appetising, but it sure tastes better than it looks. A compliment of both savoury and sweet as the mango fruitiness complemented the prawns oddly well. Dip it in a mayonnaise on the side and you get crispy, creamy goodness.

Smooth and soft crystal skin encasing huge chunks of juicy prawn. One of the better har gows I’ve had, especially for its size & quality!😋

The fish roe might’ve been underwhelming and the siew mai might not have been as juicy as I’d like it to be, but it was stuffed generously with prawns which I absolutely enjoyed!

Xiao Long Bao is super delicious. Best to have it hot.

Pork Ribs is quite nice as well. Can go well with the congee.

Prawn dumplings are quite normal. The prawn meat is crunchy and sweet.

Yum Cha Restaurant offers a unique dim sum dining experience, be it for lunch or dinner, with mouthwatering delicacies from steamed buns to award-winning black pepper crabs. They also offer the ‘Tapino’ dining style – a traditional Cantonese practice where friends and family gather to cook and reminisce over a pot of hot soup!

Came back for the 3rd time and this time, there is some improvement and some drop of standard.

Generally, all of it taste as good as ever and even the Har Gao the skin is thinner which is great.

However, first time ordering their fresh prawn rice flour roll and the prawn is indeed fresh. However, the skin is too thick for my liking.

In additional, my favourite initially, the Crispy Red Bean with Banana the skin is harder.

One good thing is they served us 2 items each for me and my friend compared to 3 to 4 as stated in the menu so that we can explore more items.

I would still come again as overall it is still nice.

First time having a pure dim sum buffet for $26.80++. Lots of unique dim sum such as truffle bun and fried red bean with banana in it. Downside is that it is only available from Mon-Fri excluding public holiday 3-6pm

It has been a long time since my last visit to Yum Cha. I gotta say, it seems like the quality has improved.

My favourite dish was Crispy You Tiao Prawn Rice Flour Roll, so unique and delicious.

We clearly over-ordered but all the food tasted so good!! Like I loved everything i ate. Steamed and airfried the food before eating for maximal satisfaction 😋 favourite is definitely the crispy red bean paste and banana!!

Have been craving dim sum for a while now and finally got to have it after work! (Have been working from home the past week so good to be back in office for a bit and eat the good food in town xD)

We ordered about 8 dishes (only 6 are featured here)..

Highly recommended items:

- Coriander prawn dumplings ($4.00++) : these are filled with prawn AND meat! The fillings are super plump and juicy. Must-order!

- Meat dumplings in spicy oil ($6.00++) : the sauce is the bomb... The black vinegar + chilli oil coats the silky dumpling extremely well and it just glides down your throat. Mmm 😋

- Crispy Red Bean w Banana ($4.00++) : This is really well made and both ingredients compliments each other well. I think the fact that Yum Cha fry this upon order (it still taste fresh) makes this dish from good to awesome

Still okayish items:

- Xiao Long Bao ($4.80++) : decent xlb, better than DTF one imo because they used rice wine which give it a bit of a sweeter taste but still pale in comparison to the one at 大上海

- Scallop Pea-Shoot Dumpling ($4.80++): the filling is nice but the skin doesn't really have much taste. The texture of the skin is also a bit off (too gummy/sticky for my liking)

- Paper Chicken Wings ($5.00++) : although it's in the fried section, the wings were not fried fried so the skin still remain soft. I found it okay but it seems the bf likes it

Give it a miss:

- Sesame BBQ Pork Pastry ($4.50++) : this was the first to come and it is cold and hard. The pastry taste very flat (not fragrant) and the BBQ pork is also not sweet/savory enough.

- Abalone Siew Mai ($5.80++) : we tried to be bougie and ordered this but the abalone is too fishy 🐟 would recommend to save the few $ and go for their normal Siew Mai instead (it's good! Just that the abalone did nothing for this dish)

There is a promotion for 30% dim sum items after 6pm on weekdays so do give this place a try! :)

This fares better compared to pamelo Sago with mango. Crunchy pastry with nice eggy center. 😋
💡Tips: go for their weekday dim sum buffet ($26.80 Per px).

Skip this Pomelo Sago with mango juice (colorful but taste slightly artificial) and go for the next item! 🏃‍♂️

A nice choice for vegetarians. We would prefer more green in the dumpling as it is slightly plain with mushroom and carrot.
