Tenjin is the latest concept by the Les Amis group, and joins the ever popular tendon scene in Singapore. The moment i stepped into the restaurant, i was wowed by the beautiful interior. Tenjin definitely makes for a very instagrammable dining spot!

Featured here is the Premium Toku-Jo, consisting of anago, crab leg, prawn, fish, egg and assorted vegetables. I like how each of the items were lightly battered and not too oily, retaining its crispiness even after the time we spent to take our photos. My favourite items were the anago, crab leg and egg! Each set also comes with miso soup and kyabetsu salad. Another important thing i wanna mention is that the ventilation here is superb, so you will not walk out smelling like fried food after your meal.

Thanks Burpple for inviting and Tenjin for hosting us.

Dessert:
Manjari Petit Pot, Café Anglaise, Cocoa Crumble

“Les Frères Marchands” Cheese Selection ($12)

This is one of the best luncheon I ever had in the CBD, especially the raviloes was made to perfection. And the intense flavour of the chocolate pot was to die for! We were super stuffed with satisfaction.

Another don to add to my 'collection' !

#tip #solodiner - Go for the set lunch. I got a counter seat so I can sit in front of the fresh fish and watch the chef at work. The service was good, staff was friendly. #noawkwardness #othersolodinerspresent

From this quiet cafe that serves up freshly-baked bread with specialty coffee brewed with soy milk. Prrhaps one of the most eye-catching item they have on display from the description, the Matcha Croissant comes with a flavourful matcha cream with bitter undertones from the tea; works well with the flaky and light croissant that encases it. Pretty delightful.

Skewers of sorts, this was prefect if you want to try a bit of everything. I love the meats here. Well executed - the beef, we had requested for medium rare and mamma mia, it came out just as we had ordered. So good and juicy. Those potatoes are evil. Pure evil. So addictive that once you start you can’t stop. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Happy Birthday Singapore! 🇸🇬 What’s a better way than to enjoy a good nostalgic tea break with your loved one? After the closing of Chin Mee Chin, I guess this would be my choice to come to for an old school kaya toast treat.

It’s so satisfying just by looking at them toast the buns till fluffy with crispy edges, and the smearing of a thick traditional Hainanese Kaya. The donut was pretty decent too, not as greasy and sweet as the traditional types which I would have preferred, but that’s just the unhealthy me. I loved my yuan yang while the boyf was happy with his Kopi gao. Could almost imagine them filtering with the traditional coffee sock filter in those metal cans!

A decent filling breakfast.
Eggs came piping hot sandwiched in between melted cheddar cheese and crispy hash brown.

Do note that this comes with free coffee or tea during breakfast hours!

At $28, this offers pretty good value as it gives you a taste of everything, including plump scallops, negitoro (minced tuna), uni (sea urchin), and anago (conger eel). Variety aside, what I also liked about this was the bed of pink sushi rice hidden beneath the pile of goodies. It was well-vinegared, slightly sticky, and delicately sweet—good even on its own.

From Mo&Jo Sourdough Burgers, a new concept by the same folks behind Baker & Cook and Plank Sourdough Pizza at Greenwood Avenue.

This burger comes with beef patty, smoked bacon, caramalised onion, house mayo and house BBQ sauce — patrons can opt between sourdough, Soy & Linseed or gluten-free bun options. Went for the sourdough option; a classic combination of condiments that provides for a safe option on the menu here. The beef patty is well-crusted whilst done with a pinkish centre; comes flavourful without being particularly gamey whilst being juicy and tender while the crisp bacon adds a saltish, smoky flavour to the burger. The sweet caramalised onions helps to cut out all that meatiness, together with the crunch of the lettuce and refreshing burst of flavours from the tomato beneath; all that in between two light and fluffy sourdough buns which went well without being particularly dense nor heavy. Thought the burgers here were a slightly lighter option despite the larger portions; not as much as a sinful treat that we were expecting out of a burger, but still pretty delicious overall.

Finally tasted the egg tarts from Tai Cheong bakery @ $1.90! Egg tarts served were hot and was plated on a beautiful glass plate!
.
Thickness of the crust was just nice! Crispy and a hint of savoury-ness after biting off the crust! Easy to bite off and it gave off a scent of fragrant! Egg filling was jelly-liked soft and sweet! Filling was alot!
.
In terms of display and taste or being pocket friendly, have already satisfied my food liking and me. In terms of transport, its a walkable distance from Holland Villiage MRT! Super convinent and accessible!
