Mee Sua Kueh

$3.60 · 27 Reviews

I was introduced to Mee Sua Kueh at another dim sum store (just down the road) many moons ago & have not tried any other stores that sold it till I came to Dim Sum Haus.

If you've not had MSK, it's basically deep fried mee sua with shredded carrots & in this case, chinese sausage aka lap cheong. The Dim Sum Haus version is surprisingly much better with its soft interior & crunchy exterior. The lap cheong also added a nice savoury twist to it, which allowed for another dimension!

Another option to get if you're using #burpplebeyond!

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, this mee sua kueh was really a treat for the tastebuds with its smoky tastes from the fried mee sua and the saltiness from the Chinese sausage. Would recommend this dish!

We visited on an early weekday evening and the restaurant was quite empty, allowing us to get seats for two easily.

One of our favourite items. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. 3 types of dipping sauce is available (soy sauce, vinegar and sweet chilli). Think this dish goes well with sweet chilli.

I guess there are many of you head to Jalan Besar for your dimsum fix at Swee Choon but do you know of this hidden gem 💎 @dimsumhaussg along the same stretch? My friends & I unanimously agreed that the quality of food here triumphs over the former! 👑

[BAKED] Their Liu Sha Bao was almost the BEST I’ve had - comparable to my all-time fave at Mouth Restaurant! ❤❤❤ Crusty top with super flowy salted egg filling that was luscious & creamy, this is a savoury treat that you must get! 👌🏻 Always like Char Siew Sou & this one wins with its extremely flaky exterior with lots of savoury-sweet tender BBQ pork filling! 😋😋😋 Their eggtarts came with shortcrust pastry (my type!) & was super aromatic & not too sweet. These were SO GOOD when enjoyed hot! 🔥

[FRIED] Items weren’t too greasy! My favourite has got to be their Crispy Mee Sua Kueh, which features a golden-brown exterior fried to the perfect crisp, while the soft & chewy mee sua inside rendered a nice contrast in texture. 😍😍😍 With bits of savoury Chinese sausage embedded within, this was delish especially when dipped in their sweet chilli sauce! 💕
.
[STEAMED] Their luxe version of Siew Mai was commendable - thin wrapper with generous amount of chicken & shrimp filling which was bursting with natural sweetness! 🤤🤤🤤 The prawns used in all their dimsum were extremely fresh & crunchy! 🦐

My recommendation : BBQ Pork Pastry, Crispy Mee Sua Kueh, Watercress Honey Ice Jelly, Japanese Dumplings.

I made a visit yesterday to the Dimsum Haus, since i was so eager to try. So here it is my review (please note that this is subjective to me and my friends liking):

• Steamed Charcoal Chicken and Shrimp
It is a combi of seaweed and tobiko inside with chicken. It is juicy, and tender. But that was nothing memorable.

• Watercress Honey Jelly
This dessert really blow me up. It's sweet, but at the right amount. The lightness of this dessert slide down my throat, and bring nauseated feelings after a decent meal gone.

• BBQ Pork Pastry
This is definitely the one you should order. This was crispy on the inside and tasty as well. When the order came, the smell was super nice. The pastry is kind of sweet and has the special taste on it. Definitely 5/5

• Crispy Mee Sua Kueh
This is also a great must to eat. Super crispy at the outside but taste good on inside too! I think its quite oily but still torelable. I have to say i like this dish better than at any place.

• Honey bbq pork bun
It just a regular bun for me. I didn't really like it because it tasteless. The bun is not fluffy enough and the pork inside was just meh.

• Japanese dumpling
Super smooth skin! The dumplings were plump and full of ingredients. The coriander leaf was a great added into the smell and taste.

• Pan Seared Mushroom
This is quite dissapoint me. I thought it would be some great dimsum. But i think it turns out to be just ori mushroom bun. They put like a fried mee, but it has no taste. The bun itself also not fluffy

The time i came, around 9 pm. the baked salted egg bun was gone :(. You rlly need to come faster to get it i think.

Could hardly say no to an Eat Up invite to this humble establishment. Since my first time here about a year ago; I’ve had a fond memory of all the dim sum and registered Dim Sum Haus as the best dim sum place in the Jalan Besar area 🙊
Today I happily concur that the statement remains, the dim sum here were great and there are a few new additions.
Before I talk about new dishes, the staples of Har Gao, Siew Mai, Fried Beancurd Skin, Fried Crispy Mee Sua Kueh with Chinese Sausage are items here you cannot fault.

the filling of chinese sausage and mushrooms flavours the entire dish rly well w a tinge of wokhei!! got this dish 1-1 with #burpplebeyond 😋

Get ready for a dim sum party! The Steamed Charcoal Chicken & Shrimp Dumpling ($4 per basket of three) is an unconventional order, but the chunky shrimps, crunchy roe and soft charcoal skin in this dish should not be missed. Be sure to get the deliciously crispy Mee Sua Kueh ($3.60 for three) as well, stuffed with Chinese sausage and dried shrimps.

This was a very unique dim sum that I have never seen before... it was deep fried to a fine crisp with mee sua and Chinese sausage as filling. The exterior was a little dry and hard in my opinion, but the inside was delicious... and it goes very well with the chili at the side! Yum!
