Very savoury and flavourful. Goes well with the sauce provided at the table too. Highly recommend.

🍲Iberico Secreto Belly Don ($11.50)
Look at that sexy sexy egg WOW. The pork slices were delicious and meaty, the addition of the garlic sauce provided was also amazing. Its also pretty well priced for the portion!

🍛Collar Mille Fueille Cheese Katsu Curry Rice ($17.50)
I’ve always wanted to try this, putting melty cheese inside of fried meat is the embodiment of clogged arteries but idgaf cuz it’s hella bussin. The amount of cheese wasn’t as generous as depicted in the image but it was really melty and cheesy. The fried pork cutlet actually consisted of pieces of thinly sliced pork collar, the taste was pretty meaty and slightly gamey but still delicious. The curry was really fantastic too, not too salty and didnt taste like those packet curries that many restaurants use. It’s pretty pricey but so good!

Love donbori that comes w onsen eggs
The pork was thingy sliced and grilled. The pork on its own was rather bland and that’s why it was served w a dish of sauce.
Simple yet satisfying
Service time was pretty fast

Staple CBD food! A good, flavourful pork bowl which definitely should be paired with the delicious sauces that the restaurant lets you add. The garlic is a particular favourite of mine.

Loved the tenderness of the pork! The Japanese sauces (which I almost decided to purchase cause it was that good lol) provided at the table was also a really really good accompaniment for the pork and rice, as the pork is only lightly seasoned so the original flavour comes through (as it should be). And for iberico pork PLUS a Tamago egg, the price was quite worth it as well.

tried the iberico pork belly don for sgd$10 and WOW it is SO GOOD!!!!! the char on the pork belly was so well done and the quality of the pork belly was so worth its price point! would definitely go again (they have many other branches as well)

This unagi is from Unaemon, one of the six Japanese concepts housed in Gochi Church Street Japan Kitchen which opens today at Capital Square. More highlights of #GochiSG on our stories!

Soft, melt-in-your mouth pork collar. My only wish is to get more pieces of meat. 50% of second order on Saturday.

Paid $16.90 for this plus $6 for 2 green tea and a cold appetiser (kimchi pork)
The tonkatsu was 10/10. The fried batter was thin and crispy, the meat was soft with a good amount of fat. I have to say its better than tonkichi or tampopo tonkatsu. However curry was not peppery enough but still tasted great.

They opened a new branch at Jewel so do check it out if A&W or Shake shack queue gets to crazy.

- pork belly don: the pork is nicely coated with a charcoal smell and taste. But cannot really taste the tenderness of the special iberico Pork. Having said that, this dish is delicious as a normal pork belly don. Yummy!!
- Shabu Shabu: Im a shabu shabu lover! Really love that they have a generous portion of veggie ( got two pieces of corn!! 😋😋🐷) and meat. Their meat is mixed collar, belly and leaner meat option. Really recommended!

($10.80) Well-marinated pork collar on rice, especially when well mixed with the onsen egg and seaweed. They provide a good range of sauces to change up the flavour of the bowl as there is only a small amount of the base sauce.

I absolutely love it. Right balance of fat and meat. So yummy that I had this two days in a row for lunch.

On the topic of comfort foods, it is indisputable that every one of us has an subconscious inclination towards the orient, be it expressing it through loud slurps of noodles with soup, or simply a humble bowl of rice with familiar condiments just as tens of generations before us came to honor. These days of course, with globalisation and access to a kaleidoscopic array of cultures at one’s grasp, the humility of rice bowls have become an elevated culture in its own right. A quiet little diner situated in the basement of Raffles Xchange, Gochi-So Shokudo serves their rice bowls topped with generous portions of Ibérico pork, onsen (water bath) egg, shavings of nori (seaweed), and spring onions. In layman terms, Ibérico pork meat could be compared in similarity to Wagyu beef, both of course, possessing a higher fat content and fat that actually runs within the very muscle of the animal itself. Gochi-So Shokudo serves their rice bowls topped with Ibérico pork at a rather generous price, giving you your money’s worth for a solid bowl of donburi. Their Pork Belly Don ($10) is nothing but goodness, with thin but flavourful strips of Ibérico pork belly. Finally, top it up with their condiments and sauces on-the-house such as Japanese BBQ sauce or their Stamina Garlic Sauce (highly recommend this if you’re looking for that flavour punch and something to refresh you for the remainder of the day).

"Can you cook the egg a bit more?"
"No, cannot"
"But last time can?"
"Ya, now cannot"
"But I will get a stomachache if I eat semi-cooked egg"
"No"
"No what no, I'm telling you yes. Yes, I'll get a stomachache"
"We cannot cook the egg more, but we can remove the egg if you want"
"Ok"

Consider this a public service announcement. I'm not the one who wants a non runny egg; in fact, I love runny eggs! But for those who don't, this is worth taking note of.

In picture: Pork Shoulder Don ($10.80 nett) which was delicious. Add some of the complementary sauces for bigger flavours!

Was initially skeptical about the don when it was served because 1) there were only 4 slices of meat and 2) the egg was broken.

But everything changed the moment the pork slice entered our mouths! It was flavourful and melt in your mouth. Have it your way: fatty flavours of the pork slices balanced out by the accompanying pickles or enhance the creaminess by dipping the slices in the egg yolk.

Even the rice was made more flavourful by the fats from the pork slices. 10/10 will have it again!

Didn't realise this was hire, not the rosu I prefer. Not much to like about it, unless you want your katsu lean.

Where did they find pig that tasted as if it has never eaten anything but herbs and acorns? Where did they find pig that is so tender and flavourful without being flabby? And the accompany sauces are just wow.
