The Flying Somen was disappointing considering that it's one of their recommendations and signature. The taste was flat, and the somen wasn't as light and refreshing as I had expected it to me. It was also difficult to eat as the noodles got dry after a while.

Headed down to Hana to try their Omakase ($58++/pax) which came with:
1. Chilled Japanese women with Sakura ebi
2. Shisamo salad
3. Assorted sashimi
4. Grilled lobster with mentaiko
5. Battered Hiroshima oyster
6. Beef tenderloin with garlic chips
7. Ikura & tobiko sushi
8. Unagi sushi with tanuki
9. Yellowtail sushi with truffle kombu
10. Caramelised salmon sushi
11. Truffle chawanmushi
12. Kisu tempura donburi
13. Miso soup
14. Dessert

The sashimi and sushi were very fresh. The sushi were excellent - the addition of tanuki (Japanese breadcrumbs), truffle kombu and aburi char elevated the texture and flavour of each sushi. The torched mentaiko went well with the lobster and the combination was full of umami. The deep fried oyster was soft, plump and not fishy at all. The beef tenderloin cubes were served medium, tender and juicy. The silky chawanmushi was thoroughly infused with fragrance of truffle.

To be honest, I wasnโ€™t expecting much from a relatively cheap Omakase but this exceeded my expectations. The food was solid and quite a number of dishes turned out to be a delightful. The portion of each dish was small but they definitely add up. What a pleasant surprise!

Decent Omakase but you really get the quality you paid for - that is to say, no frills and pretty average. Don't expect this to be a gateway meal for those who aren't really sold on the Omakase experience; it's likely that this will leave a poor taste in their mouth. Ultimately, Singaporeans are a cheapskate bunch and they will get just the $38 set, find that it didn't match up to their expectation of the 'Omakase' featured in media, and then vow never to return. Lest this happens to you, do remember to keep an open mind and approach Hana with more Curiosity rather than Expectations.

Nicely grilled, good

Salmon was torched so smell nice

Itโ€™s matcha tiramisu. Very milk/cream base

Tried the $58 omakase. We arrived around 8pm and the waitress asked if they could serve us a bit faster than usual since the last order is at 9pm. We ended up finishing in an hour but didnโ€™t feel rushed.

my three favourite dishes of this omakase were:

- mentaiko lobster: loved the mentaiko sauce. Wish this came with something to help dig the meat out, and wish the meat was more moist but overall really liked this!
- beef tenderloin: well flavoured, tender and juicy
- truffle yellowtail sushi: truffle was distinct and well balanced with the taste of the fish

Overall, we were really happy with our experience!

Chances upon this small restaurant in forum when I was staycating nearby. The menu is interesting with some items Instagram worthy. I am happy with the food quality. Many soft shell crabs have very strong taste of the crab which I canโ€™t take it but this is not. I like my cod fish with the mentaiko but do careful that it will have some bones. I will visit again with friends so that I can try other items on the menu.

I was also turned off by the color of the uni. There wasn't any dipping sauce which made it even blander.

Went for their famous $38++ for 15 courses omakase. It was nice though I probably wouldn't go back again cause I didn't feel full from supposedly 15 courses and it added to $90 for 2. It was all tiny cute portions, the photo of 4 sushi itself is already 4 courses. I particularly enjoy the cheesecake dessert in the form of cheese (frEaKiNg cUtE?!?). Great experience, and the restaurant seemed really popular as well.

Omg so fun! You get a tiny bit of everything with this platter

Succulent lobster and the hard shell gave it a nice crunch. A bit expensive tho 16(?) bux for two

I love the intense flavour of truffle when i dip the somen into the dipping sauce. Must try for truffle lovers!

Bought the voucher from @chopesg during their birthday flashdeal and was surprised this was so good! And of course, instaworthy!

Both desserts were super good esp the matcha-misu!! Price ranges from $15-20 for desserts.

The boba trend ainโ€™t ending anytime soon with the Liquid Cheese Cake with Boba ($15) from Hana Restaurant ๐Ÿคค Imagine hot liquid cheese in a crust and chewy pearls to top it all off.

The โ€˜Mee Bombโ€™, (mee being the Malay for noodles), are an Asian twist on Arancini. Cheese balls, covered in deep fried noodle (the darker being squid ink I believe). Each one had a different flavour, including wasabi and kimchi. Very strong taste and even though I only had half I found them quick sickly. #noodleballs #arancini #asianfusion #hanarestaurant #cheeseball #uniqueflavours
