Always a classic spot to have authentic Singaporean style seafood. The yam ring scallop was a bit meh, but the black pepper, chili crab, and baby squids were great!

With the Chinese traditional, we usually have Lo Hei during 15 days of CNY. We went for our yearly must-have, 𝐉𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝’s Prosperity Salmon ‘Yu Sheng’ and it was still as yummy! But with the mask on, no talking while tossing, the atmosphere feels so much quieter and awkward. Nevertheless, if you are a huge fan of ‘Yu Sheng’, we would highly recommend you 𝐉𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝’s as this is our favourite and must-have every year! ⠀

Part 2 Chilled shredded roast duck salad & scallops wrapped in yam ring - 7.5/10 Roast duck is savory, tender. Mango sauce covering it is nice. Giving the sweetness side to duck. Yam ring with scallop is good.
What’s jumbo without their chili crab 🥺 Had this at a promo - 20% off crab and 2 boston lobsters for $88 (you can choose method of cooking). Seafood was super fresh and chili crab sauce was great - not too sweet and comes with a spicy kick which we love. Pair this with fried mantou for the full on shiok experience.
For lobster, would recommend trying it to be cooked as hokkien mee. Wok hey was on point and noodles were very flavourful/packed with seafood taste. Great portion too!

Scrambled to find a Chinese place for reunion dinner that my empress dowager Aunt would approve of.
Jumbo was available just a week before yesterday, offering a 8pm booking and we went ahead. We picked a 6 course menu and added 2 signature chilli crabs with fried and steam mantous.
Everything was acceptable with some unexpected stand outs - like the good sesame tang yuans swimming in a pool of sugared cheng teng. Also the soft almost comparable to firm tofu, shiitake mushrooms in the braised baby abalone dish.
Of course the signature chilli crab was one of the better renditions around but my palate still preferred a chilli sauce based without peanuts yet Jumbo’s version is laden with bites of crushed peanuts.
Overall, for the price we were paying I couldn’t stop myself from wondering if I could find way superior alternatives for a similar price range.... maybe next year ✨
Tried Pocky X Yakun Kaya (Kaya flavour) a few months ago and loved it. This Pretz X Jumbo (Singapore Exclusive) Chilli crab flavour got us excited and we were not hesitant at all to put them in the shopping basket.🧺
Having said that, we found this flavour quite an oddball. If we did blindfold, we wouldn’t know that it’s a chilli crab flavour. We love Jumbo Seafood signature dish 💯 but it’s quite a push when it comes to biscuit sticks.🤔
Jumbo serves the best chili crab. Sauce is thick, savory and sweet. We always go for the female crabs for the roe!
Great for chili crab with fried mantou.
Decided to be adventurous once and ordered lobster sashimi and lobster salad. Sashimi was fresh and recommend everyone to try at least once in their life. Lobster in the salad was fresh and not overly tough too.
Instead of eating the usual crab, why not give something else in the menu a go? You may be pleasantly surprised
So my family never fails to order this knowing that it’s my fav, but it seems like we found the best one! The pork ribs was so well coated and oozing with coffee fragrance my mum thought she won’t be able to sleep cuz of the caffeine. The coffee fragrance even had a chocolatey tinge which I like. The ribs also had balance of fats and meat, i am sold!
One of my favourite yam paste around! Not too sweet and not too cloying, and the portion is just right for one pax. The corn is also a nice touch to the yam paste because it gives you that extra crunch (you never know you needed). Perfect sweet end to a meal.
Checked off trying this local pride and first time having the black pepper crab (ofc with my favourite chilli crab).
V tender with huge pincers, the meat also has all the richness of the sauces infused into it. No wonder its so popular. The golden mantous also deserve a shout out :-)
Worth it to come to ECP to try this outlet, which has the highest ratings across its chains!
However, sadly, the chilli crab took so long to prepare that by the time it arrives, we finished everything else already. Black pepper is served within 30minutes though!
Ps. The crab prices are slightly higher now due to CNY
Chilled dessert that is not overly sweet with generous bits of pomelo. Best finisher to a spicy and salty seafood meal. Enjoyed this so much I had seconds.
The combination sounds weird, but this dish sure nailed the texture game man! The crispy coat, followed by the aromatic soft yam and then finally the nicely cooked scallop... IT'S BOMBBB💣. Yam lovers y'all would definitely love this dish as the yam flavour is pretty rich and aromatic. For those with sweet tooth💦, it's served with dark sweet dip and this brings the dish to another whole new level😍. Price wise it's reasonable, at $14ish for 6 pieces of this goodness(Sorry I have forgotten the price), but once in awhile it's definitely worth eating it with your family and friends!! :)))
.
Oh I almost missed this part out. The service is ON POINT! The soon hock fish that was served is alittle fishy(doesn't happen often) and after feedbacking it to the service staff, we're offered an exchange, which we later declined. Instead of letting matter pass, we're being served free dessert and were even given an additional 10% off our bill! Dining experience was awesome and I would definitely revisit this place again!
One of the staple I will order when I visit Jumbo. This dish is extremely refreshing and light- after a heavy meal- filled with shaved ice with a mango base with jelly balls as well as watermelon shaped as small ball sizes
