($3.50) It's my second time at here as dine in waffles after work but then it was quite crunchy but dry aftertaste for their waffles. The biscoff filling was melted off due to hot waffles and also taste like warm and sweet caramel.

Mom misses the popiah at this unpretentious shop located at a rather ulu corner of coronation plaza, so here we are!

Their crowd favourite popiah is packed to the brim with ingredients including sweet sauce, stewed turnips, chunky hard boiled eggs, beansprouts, cucumber and carrot strips and the iconic crunchy rice bits!

I finally managed to try their waffles out after reading some review about it. They got a variety of waffles flavour from savoury to sweet tbh to sell it from the menu. Their signatures include savoury waffles such as ham & cheese, chicken cutlet and also oreo cream cheese waffles ($3.50). Their waffles got crispy and crunchy texture when serving in hot but once turned to cold got soggy and wet texture as I noticed. Their cream cheese really taste not bad and got strong milky and creamy taste tbh even serving in hot and cold. But their oreo didn't really sticked well with cream cheese tbh and sprinkled a lot of oreo for topping.

Amazing portion of chicken teriyaki bento.
Fluffy rice, sliced watermelon and salad.
Highly recommended!

@annchinpopiah is one of the most popular popiah places in Singapore and they are also also categorised under Michelin Guide. I especially love how Ann Chin Popiah only uses the freshest ingredients to make their delectable popiah & is freshly made-to-order.

Recently went to their outlet at Sim Lim Square which features a wide selection you don't find at their other outlets.

I tried,

Chicken Cutlet Waffles
Fresh made waffle upon order. The waffle is super fluffy with a chew. Drizzle in mayonnaise, sweet chilli & cheese sauce, topped with cheese slice, shredded lettuce and crispy juicy chicken cutlet. The sweet savoury combination is a perfect combo! They also have the common suspect such as blueberry, kaya, peanut butter.

Highly recommend to come their latest branch at Sim Lim Sq

I tried,

Deep Fried Spring Roll..
Come with turnips, carrots and mee hoon wrapped in a chewy fried skin that provide a crunch. Despite being deep fried to golden brown, is not oily at all.

I tried,

Deep Fried Yam Roll
The yam version similar Deep Fried Spring Roll except it replaces turnips with yam bits. Yammy lover must have!

Laksa
Exclusive to Sim Lim Square only!! The slippery smooth thick white beehoon is in " bite size" so can easily slurp spoonful after spoonful. Comes with prawn, fish cake, taupok & shrimp chilli paste in a bowl of creamy robust rich lemaky laska broth. Legit Shiok! Best of all? Is only $3.50!!! Value for money!

I tried,

Kueh Pie Tee (4 pieces),
Come with the same filling as the popiah but filled in crispy pastry shell. Lean towards a consistent sweetness that the popiah didn’t have. The size allow me to pop the whole thing into my mouth for maximum pleasure & it taste fresh & moist in every bite.

I tried,

Popiah
Their popiah skin is freshly handmade, very different from those machine-made one which are generally hard & dry. The skin here is delightfully thin & clear, & has a soft & rather chewy texture. The selling point is the moist ‘mang kwang’ (turnip) & the crunchy bits, deliciously combine with the other ingredients such as hard-boiled egg, lettuce, bean sprouts & peanuts. The Popiah retains its moisture & each bite bursting with flavours, yet not breaking the fragile skin.

Worst dining experience ever. Walked into the shop with only two diners during dinner time and was rudely told off by the boss that I should not dine in if I’m ordering only one popiah with no drinks.

When I told him to be mindful of his customer service and pointed out that there was no sign specifying I am not allowed to dine in without ordering a drink, I was scolded by him and told I (as a customer) should not be talking that way to the boss of the store.

Very unfortunate customer service given their long history as a chain serving good quality food. The two service staff behind the counter were friendly except for the person who claimed to be the boss.
