The marinade and seasoning are a secret, except it's something local. Interesting fried chicken definitely, but not sensational.

Featuring ingredients I love, it's quite sad how underwhelming it was. The US Black Angus short rib was boring and too chewy. There was barely any truffle taste. I appreciated the rice was flavoured with black garlic brown butter but the portion was too little. Overall I expected better from Tanuki Raw. Lucky I added the foie gras.

So thanks Tanuki Raw for giving me that experience!
Other toppings include ikura, truffle sauce, and chinmi chilli for $6 a piece. And between 5pm and 8pm, you can get raw live shucked oysters at $2 each. Thatโ€™s my sort of happy hour promotion!

4 types of salmon in a bowl? What more can I ask for ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Beneath the salmon fiesta is a bed of Tanuki rawโ€™s signature mixed rice. The rice isnโ€™t too special though, tastes like some Japanese rice seasoning of some sort.

There was a fair balance of toppings and fries at first, but like any regular fries with toppings, those at the bottom were pretty bare. It was definitely flavourful and pleasantly addictive!

although I feel that the salmon portions have decreased over the years, itโ€™s still very fresh and I love the combination of the various salmon (aburi, spicy), and omg the rice was always very nicely done - very flavorful, one of my favorites!!!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
