Couldnât resist trying this interesting sounding tart out! The main filling - Republica del Cacao 33% blended with Andean corn - somehow reminded me of delicious caramilk chocolate, but creamy. Didnât really taste the corn in it though. I also absolutely adored the chewy orange marmalade jelly in the middle, which was a refreshing pairing with white chocolate.
The tart is very tiny though - itâs smaller than my palm, which says quite a bit because my palm is not that big to begin with. I think itâs a pretty tasty tart overall, but pricey for its size. I guess my review of this tart is similar to my review of the drinks here.
We visited here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasnât too crowded. Quite a nice casual place to chill with friends.
Chai was legit, the spice was substantial and not overpowered by the milk. A good cup of chai latte - just rather pricey, especially for the size of the cup. You could probably get cheaper chai lattes elsewhere with similar standards. One good thing is that they donât charge extra for iced!

The Steak Sandwich was loaded with a generous portion of ribeye that were a little tough and chewy. Meat was well seasoned and tucked between crusty country bread with smoked cheddar, caramelised onion, truffle aioli and rocket, it was overall a hearty good sandwich.
with a poached egg, sheepâs feta & roasted cherry tomatoes on sourdough
I'm not sure whether it was because I had this to-go but this was quite agonising to finish.
This dish boasts fresh fennel and dill but I couldn't taste anything -- not even a hint of the poached lobster. (Insert covid joke here) All the lobster I got was sparse chunks of rubbery meat in the bland mush. Extremely disappointing and confusing to get something like this from a reputable chain.
We wanted dessert at Raffles City and we decided to get a pastry from The Providore at Raffles City. This branch is fairly new, and it opened only in 2021. Nonetheless, it was pretty packed with the CBD lunch crowd as we went down on a Friday afternoon so if you are planning to visit, it might be safer to make a reservation first.
The cakes at The Providore are not listed on the menu and instead, you have to head to the cake counter to choose your cake. We ordered the Yuzu Fromage, which was a yuzu-flavoured cake with a creamy cheese-flavoured exterior! We loved the inside of the cake as the yuzu flavour was pretty pronounced and there are bits of yuzu fruit encased within as well. đ For those who are afraid of sour foods, fear not as we felt that the yuzu was surprisingly sweeter rather than sour!
The pastry uses a hazelnut-flavoured base for it's crust, although we felt that the taste of the base was overpowered by that of the yuzu-flavoured filling. The dessert costs around $9++, which is a little on the higher side given the size of the pastry, although we really loved the refreshing yuzu flavour.
