More Reviews of good food at Meet 4 Meat

Much Smaller than expected. Like having 2 Steak Baos. Cooked to medium rare, it was juicy. And the crust was rather buttery and flaky. Its the reason anyone come here, but other then the novelty of having a Beef Wellington, this was just rather normal

Meet 4 Meat has been on my food list for a very long time, always wanted to try their Beef Wellington. But finding parking here is a hassle.

So ended up, have to park at Katong I12 and walk over.

Came on a Friday Evening, and still have ample seating areas. Ordered the weekly Combo Set for 2.

1) Beef Wellington
- Much Smaller than expected. Like having 2 Steak Baos. Cooked to medium rare, it was juicy. And the crust was rather buttery and flaky. Its the reason anyone come here, but other then the novelty of having a Beef Wellington, this was just rather normal.

2) Pork Ribeye w/ pineapple sauce
- This was rather tough, expected better.

3) Chicken Chop
- just a normal chicken chop that u can get anywhere. Normal

4) Chicken Wings
- Just Fillers. Skin was rather crispy, other than that, nothing really special.

In Summary, just come here for the novelty of having a Beef Wellington. The other dishes were nothing really special, it wasn't that bad, just fillers.

1) 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 - Enjoyed the juicy and medium-rare beef that was well-marinated and balanced by the earthy mushroom duxelles. Encased in buttery puff pastry and while we appreciated the ratio of meat:pastry, personally found the pastry on the soggier side and lacking the expected flakiness. That aside, this dish is usually valued way more so those looking to try can consider this wallet friendly option

2) 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐰𝐤 - Personal favourite among the meats for the flavourful marination and tender bite

3) 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 & 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐩 - Enjoyed the chicken chop while the wings were unfortunately on the dry side and could be more charred

4) 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 (or Dutch potato) - Thin cut and crispy fries that added a good balance of carbs

5) 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝 - Appreciated the refreshing greens and pineapple salsa to cut through some meaty richness

Besides serving up affordable gourmet charcoal-grilled meats such as Argentina Ribeye and Baby Back Ribs, Meet 4 Meat in Brunners Coffeeshop also offers the cheapest beef wellington in Singapore.

https://hungryghost.sg/meet-4-meat/

To get the best of everything, we highly recommend the Signatures Combo for one ($30). You can choose from a set of 2-boned lamb cutlets and 100g beef or duck wellington, or a combination of both the duck and beef wellington at 100g each. Both options come with a serving of baked potato/fries and a side salad. Definitely a spread for one if you ask me! Could possibly be enough to share between 2 which makes it really affordable.

Helmed by Head Chef Jimmy Teo, a former chef from @wooloomooloosteakhousesg at Swissôtel, @meet_4_meat is driven by passion to offer diners gourmet food at coffee shop prices! From charcoal-grilled meats to handmade pastas and burger dishes, there’s certainly something for everyone.😉

So glad to be here for the 2nd time to try their latest creation…😋

👉Duck Wellington (NEW) - SGD32
charcoal charred premium duck breast meat wrapped in buttery puff pastry with foie gras & mushroom duxelle, served with red wine sauce
📝A picture speaks a thousand words - perfectly cooked duck breast & thick creamy foie gras!😍 The flavours from each component came together coherently, with the red wine sauce providing a rich, fruity finish. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!👍

👉Pork Tomahawk - SGD30
300g bone-in USA Sakura pork, served with bacon & pomelo relish
📝Surprisingly toothsome, the relish escalated the pork to a whole new level. Slightly over cooked I think, I wished the pork was more succulent…

👉Jimmy’s Carbonara Pasta - SGD11
sautéed onions, bacon, chopped parsley with milk & egg yolk
📝Featuring al dente handmade pasta in mouth-watering sauce(no added cream), it still taste as good as last time. Savour while it’s still hot!

👉Trio Smoked Sea Bass - SGD15
local sea bass smoked in 3 different flavours (black pepper, dill & original)
📝Great texture and taste. Highly recommended to wrap the pickle using the sliced sea bass before dipping into the chilli chive oil.

Operating for the last 3 years, @meet_4_meat is helmed by Jimmy, a former chef from @wooloomooloosteakhousesg at Swissôtel, dishing out gourmet meats at coffee shop prices! Be prepared to queue (at least for now) and wait about 45mins for your food to be served.😉

Totally unaware about their ongoing SGD56 Beef Wellington Value Meal, here’s what we ordered instead…🥲

👉Beef Wellington w Foie Gras - SGD32
180g Australian Tenderloin, mushroom duxelle, wrapped in puff pastry
📝No doubt it was good but there are still room for improvement. Done medium-rare, the beef tenderloin was surprisingly tender, though a little under seasoned. Although the puff pastry could be more buttery and flaky, I’m still pretty satisfied with it, considering its reasonable price point. Maybe it’s just me, but I won’t recommend adding a thin slab of Foie Gras (+SGD3) since it didn’t “do” much at all…😄

👉Jimmy’s Carbonara - SGD10.50
Sautéed onions, bacon, chopped parsley with milk & egg yolk
📝Featuring al dente handmade pasta in mouth-watering sauce (no added cream), I must say they are super generous with their bacon strips. SHIOK SIA!😋

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beef Wellington ($29)
180g Australian Tenderloin, mushroom duxelle, wrapped in puff pastry
We found this extremely difficult to cut through, and it was very "chewy", which is most probably because it's not exactly the best kind of beef that was being used - considering its price. Regardless, also felt that the pastry was too dense, and not buttery/ flavourful enough. Yes it's affordable, but I wouldn't really come back for it.

Overall, I find that there's nothing much to shout about, and was kinda disappointed from all the hype, but it could just be inconsistent and you may have a different experience from me.

Pork Tomahawk ($30)
300g bone-in USA Sakura pork served with bacon and pomelo relish.
The "sauce" that came with the pork tomahawk had a strong tomato flavour, and it actually paired pretty well with the pork! Flavourwise, the tomahawk was not bad, but texture-wise, it was sadly dry at some parts (although the meat is not very tough), and yet you find some parts that's really tender with fats that melt in your mouth. That's most probably because of the different cuts that exist in 1 tomahawk - the area nearer to the fats are much juicier.

Meet4Meat markets itself as a go-to for budget gourmet meats and handmade pasta options. Located at Brunner’s Coffeeshop, Meet 4 Meat is the brainchild of Chef Gerald and Head Chef Jimmy, the former of the duo being an ex-chef in Wooloomooloo Steakhouse.

Having visited multiple times and tried a variety of their offerings, I would strongly recommend their Lamb Cutlet, the Pork Tomahawk or their signature Beef Wellington ($28). If you don’t mind the bustling atmosphere by the roadside, this Beef Wellington is as good as you’ll get at any restaurant. Mind you, add a foie gras and perfection is achieved 💋

9/10 will definitely be back.

3 different flavor - original, dill cured & black pepper; fresh & no muddy or fishy taste; chilli chive oil is light & complement the fish very well; vegetable acar is sweet, sour & crunchy; appetising & balance out the "over fishy feel"..

First time eating & I'm impressed; the medium rare tenderloin is very tender & succulent; no bloody water; wrapped with a layer of red wine mushroom that is flavorful; add on foie gras which is soft & creamy; & then wrap with a thin, flaky & buttery puff pastry; the outer layer still remains flaky till the end; came with chickpeas salad at the side; probably the most affordable beef Wellington in town..

Thick slab of bone-in pork chop; surprisingly tender with smoky taste outside; lightly seasoned, no pork stench; with bacon & pomelo relish that is mildly sweet & salty; with chickpeas salad at the side..

Super love their food. Tastes really good. Will definitely come back here for more next time! Greatly recommended

After learning about Beef Wellington costing at a fraction of the price compared to restaurant and their handmade pasta, I decided to give this a shot for my birthday meal.

I ordered their Beef Wellington with Foie Gras & Carbonara Set Meal which cost $36.

The pasta was soft and you can taste that it is handmade compared it to being hard and chewy. Portion of the pasta was big. However, I felt that there isn't much flavour in the pasta.

Next is the main event which is the Beef Wellington which I was aiming for. They used beef tenderloin which is an expensive cut of meat and it is chewy. The Foie Gras just melt in your mouth. The puff pastry is buttery and the grounded mushroom inside it. For the Ala Carte price of $31, I like it. The vegetables provided I felt that it could be improved by drizzling olive oil and not use red cabbage.

Saw a few foodies write about this shop selling Beef Wellington in a Kopi Tiam and decided to pay a visit. Ordered their signature Beef Wellington with Foie Gras. S$31 per serving. Food was served pretty fast for a dish like this. You can see some plating skills as well when the dish comes.

Ribeye steak. Check. The beef was done medium rare so very tender. Check. Pastry was buttery flavour but not flaky. Oh oh. But here’s the killer. Where’s my foie gras? Oh you mean the brown salty paste between the beef and the pastry? Tasted like mushroom sauce if you ask me.

If you want an affordable Beef Wellington, just go for the standard dish. At least you won’t be wondering why you paid an extra $3.

Chunky slab of pork served with pineapple salsa. Pretty unusual texture for pork. I mean, look at the color. It was dense, intense and not porky at all. Love the refreshing pineapple salsa which gave a nice touch of acidity and sweetness.
