hearsay this is the closest to Vietnam’s much cheaper and tastier banh mi. And indeed I can see why! The crusty-outside-soft-inside baguette 🥖 scored points. It was quite a challenge to stay near and glam munching into my lunch grub. I’ve tried the grilled lemongrass chicken once and going for it twice because it was just so good - the mix of sunny side, floss and well marinated lemongrass chicken. I wish there were more floss to go along tho! For veggie haters, you’ll be delighted to know that the veggies within are picklish and crunchy. It whets your appetite, doesn’t taste any close to a veggie. Just think of ‘wm as crispy collagen or bread sticks that complements the savoury bits so well. This, over preserved cold cuts from subway any time, any day!
PLAZA SINGAPURA | NAMNAM NOODLE BAR
Was walking around Plaza Singapura when I stumbled upon this open aired restaurant. Since I was craving for some noodle soup, I decided to give this Pho a try. Mind you, as someone who've been to borh Northern and Southern Vietnam and tried their authentic Pho, I have really high expectations of Pho. I ordered the Pho Australian Beef Slices & Balls. I was initially skeptical of it but wow the first sip of the broth blew me away. Don't be fooled by the clear or rather bland appearance of the broth - it was thin, nutritious and impossibly fragrant. The addition of Lime further enhanced the citric flavour of the otherwise already flavourful broth. The wheat noodles were soft, easy to chew and flavourful. Just wow! Although a little pricey than other Vietnamese restaurants selling at $12.90, this was the real deal and I would definitely come back for more.
I'd give this bowl a rating of 9/10! It was VFM!

Perfect as a sweet ending for two, this S$9.90 dessert was pretty amazing the moment I tried to scoop some ice cream up with the spoon, because it was actually quite sticky (texture a bit comparable with Sticky Chewy Chocolate). But what was really enjoyable about this dessert was what could be found at the bottom of the “coconut husk”: sticky rice, beans and red rubies? There was like some Thai influence to this dessert, but it was refreshing and fun nonetheless.
Given my very limited encounters with Vietnamese cuisine, it was a shame to say that this was my first encounter with Bahn Mi, which loosely translated to Vietnamese baguette sandwich.
The Caramelised 5-Spice Pork Belly Bahn Mi (S$9.90) was just scrumptious despite the humble price tag. Juicy pork belly slices were pressed with raw vegetables, coriander and pâté between a sliced baguette with very crispy crust. The sounds of crunches came from both the bread as well as the vegetables, making the meal sensational amidst the ease of eating it without taking a toll on the jaw and teeth.
Hanoi style pho with Australian beef and meat balls. Tastes very similar to the pho I had in Hanoi.
Been awhile since I’ve been back here! Nam Nam introduced 2 sizes available - small and regular. Regular is the same size as it was before so I got that.
I really enjoyed Nam Nam’s pho - savory yet light broth with springy rice noodles. The beef slices were tender, but my fav would be their beef balls!
Absolutely love their vegan pho!! Have had it more than 3 times I think and I still crave it 😍 they give a lot of ingredients which makes it Super filling 👌🏻 the mock meats are delicious!! N love the soup as well. Highly recommend that you try it out!! :)
Smoked salmon in a bahnmi? What might have been a bagel copycat had the right amounts of Vietnamese flavors (check out those pickles and coriander), and the tofu just added the right touch of texture. Random ordered this to eat in a hurry but will definitely get this again!
After renovation, this outlet is even more automated and efficient than before, so waiting in line or for food is reduced to the minimum. At $10.90 including service and tax, the set lunch is a steal. It’s not great phở, but good enough lah!
Always love pho ever since I had an unPHOgettable time at Vietnam few years back. This pho portion might be a little small but their broth is really tasty & flavourful. Rice noodles is cooked to perfection and beef is thinly sliced (plus served slightly raw). Although they have really good pho, please do not try their hot lotus tea cause it tasted just like fresh out of the hay.... have no idea why is it like this but all I can say I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
A very refreshing banh mi which is suitable for a light dinner. The ice vietnamese coffee with condensed milk ($4.5) is nice too!
Having Banh Mi outside their breakfast promo time and 2 sets of Banh Mi (1 vegetarian & 1 pork belly) cost $8.90 each. Delicious vegetarian choice as always (egg & tofu go well together). Pork belly is also yummy with crunchy baguette. Pity there is no lunch set during weekend. To enjoy their offer to the max, suggest to go weekday morning...👌💡😇
The highlight has to be alkaline water with PH 8.0 Absolutely amazing that they pay attention to environment! 👍💚

Value Breakfast set.
Choice of any Banh Mi and a coffee, tea or bottled water at $5:90 ( A very good deal )
You can also opt for any Pho @ $6:90( not applicable for the wagyu beef pho)
I had the Lemongrass Chicken, Banh Mi filled with the Toasted Baguette, veggies , mayonnaise and egg with a black coffee( not in pic)
The crispness of the bread was just right, not overly toasted. I would have preferred a more flavorful punch in every bite, but the chicken lacked the lemongrass flavors but it wasn’t an issue as you have a lot of sauce options available on each table.
The queues are not too long for breakfast but be prepared to wait a while before you are seated for lunch as it’s quite busy.
$11.50 ala carte or less as part of breakfast or lunch set meals
.
You get a nice mix of medium rare lean beef slices, tendon, meat balls, brisket and tripe together with chopped herbs and pho noodles. The meat was all nicely cooked and the meatball in particular was very flavorful. The broth was not as flavorful with beefy goodness as I would have liked but still lightly fragrant and enjoyable.
.
This is honestly a steal even at the ala carte price and the breakfast and lunch set prices are even better value. With Singapore's rising food costs, this is a superb deal! Highly recommended.
Hugh mushroom Vegetarian Pho @Namnamnoodlebar 🍄
*****
Good Pho doesn't always have to be chicken or beef! The first time we switched from Bahn Mi to Pho at this eatery in Plaza Singapura and it's not too bad at all. The fresh mushroom served in the vegetarian Pho is gigantic & a pure delight! 🍜 Their Pho goes very well with spring roll side dish.

I love this dessert, especially that it came with coconut ice cream that was creamier than many others I've tried, mixed with almonds and peanuts, and those red rubies! Still rather sweet though, so I'm glad that I could share this with 3 other friends @wishuponatart @tiara_star and @shermyyy.

This is taken during a tasting.
Looks nice but noodles were dry and plain as there was not enough sauce. To make the experience worst, we asked one of the staff to check where is our sandwich, after we finished our noodles. The staff cannot be bothered to even check and just told us to wait, probably too lazy to walk a few more steps to the sandwich counter nearer to the entrance when we were near the kitchen. Obviously something is wrong if we had finished our noodles and sandwich still was not served. Checked with another staff after another 10mins and true enough our sandwich was missed out and not even prepared yet. Waste time 😕
Bahn Mi breakfast deal @ Nam Nam Noodle Bar 🥖🍜
*****
A quick stop before heading to Civic district Festival yesterday evening. Just spot this awesome breakfast deal at Nam Nam where we were dining. 😇
.
We gave their Bahn Mi a try!! 😸
B5: Chili lemongrass chicken with chicken floss $7.5. 🐓
B6: Sautéed lemongrass pork $7.5.🐷
.
We prefer B6 to B5 as the sauce & chicken floss are rather too sweet for us. Whereas B6 just hit the right node in term of flavour.
🔥 Breakfast deal (8 am-10 am) is only $5.9 PLUS you get a Viet Black coffee OR Lotus Tea. Make sure to collect their little stamp booklet if you will be their regulars.
