We didn't really enjoy Ristorante Palermo's pastas but loved their pizzas. The pizza crust was thin and crisp and topped with fresh tiger prawns, squid and mozzarella cheese in a tomato sauce base.
We would highly recommend having their pizza. Prices are a little steep and the food is well executed but nothing spectacular. Best saved for an occasion!
For my main, I chose Ristorante Palermo's linguine granchio which features linguine with crab meat in a tomato-based sauce made from white wine and seafood stock.
I was a little disappointed to be honest. Considering the price tag, I was expecting a little more crab meat in the dish. The sauce was decent and the pasta al dente. The dish as whole was well executed but I wasn't wowed tbh.
We were hosting some overseas friend and I was low-key excited to check out Ristorante Palermo, a small homely Italian restaurant which overlooks the Keppel Bay Marina.
For starters, we had their pan fried foie gras which was served on toast and topped with figs, walnut and cinnamon crumble. On their own, the figs, walnut and cinnamon crumble are a delicious combination in a salad or as part of a dessert. It's interesting but i am just not too sure if I like this combination with foie gras.
Generous serving. Taste is also good!
Went for Pistachio and the Dark Chocolate here! Both textures were nicely thick, smooth with a good amount of stickiness, but I personally found them too sweet, especially the Pistachio. Flavours were rich though!
I may have found the place with one of the thickest dark chocolate gelato! We got the regular cup ($9) with 2 scoops: 1 pistachio & sweet potato and 1 dark chocolate. The former is very smooth, actually quite rare for many pistachio gelato I've tried. I felt like the sweet potato addition doesn't really complement the pistachio! However the dark chocolate is so good as it is really rich and bold! The gelato texture is wonderfully sticky as well!
Pasta topped with sauce of cream, bacon, egg yolks and parmesan cheese. They’re extremely generous with their bacon and definitely flavourful with the sauce.
Spaghetti with crab meat, Italian tomatoes, crab and parmesan cheese. Hands down one of my favourite and best pasta I’ve eaten. Flavourful yet not jelat.
Venue is nice on the second floor with view over the yachts in Keppel Bay. It’s a relatively small restaurant and is best to make reservation in advance. Group of four people can request for the table next to the window.
Their food feels very homey and is a tad expensive for what it is. I like the tiramisu and chocolate gelato.
Been a fan of the chocolate orange combination lately, and it’s even better with coffee in Da Paolo’s version! The orange flavour is quite subtle, but that suits me just fine. It leaves a pleasant citrusy flavour, which balances perfectly with the mocha. None of the elements in this drink overpowered the other, and I really enjoyed the silky mouthfeel of this cup.
Simply can’t pass up pistachio ice cream, and I fell in love with Da Paolo’s pistachio gelato ever since I first tried it!
Very creamy, with a strong pistachio aroma and nuttiness. I sort of wish that there were some crushed pistachios or whole bits of nuts inside but it’s okay - there are other gelato places I turn to for that 😂
