Omakase wrapped with a prawn miso soup that didnโ€™t play by the usual rules. This was bold, briny and full of flavour. The prawn stock hit hard with umami. Rich, warming and way more memorable than expected.

Dropped by Sushi to Sumi for their UME lunch omakase and it was quick, simple and wallet-friendly. We get 8 seasonal sushi pieces, 1 charcoal-grilled seafood and miso soup all done in under 45 minutes, standing-style.

Had a decent mix of Sea Bream, Flounder, Amberjack, Salmon, Tobiko marinated with dashi, Sweet Shrimp, Bluefin Tuna and Herring. The grilled squid was smoky and tender, a nice change of pace.

Itโ€™s not the fanciest omakase around but for the price, itโ€™s hard to complain. Simple, efficient and perfect for a fuss-free lunch that still feels like a treat ใ€‹$38++

This has been on my mind for quite a while and Iโ€™m glad it didnโ€™t disappoint!! The eel was so soft & had a smoky flavour

Another signature featuring melt-in-mouth mentaiko seared salmon, mango puree & avocado

could be crispier and the honey plum sauce took some getting used to, but it wasn't bad

There's better things to order from the menu than this inoffensive assorted rainbow roll of salmon tartare, bluefin tuna and yellowtail. I'd pick any of the meat sticks over this.

These statuesque shooters introduced the meal with flair. A cold appetiser of plump oysters submerged in a citrusy orange ponzu sauce, and in-lieu of Tabasco, a dash of heat by way of Momiji Oroshi - Japanese hot radish paste, created an enticing concoction of bright, punchy flavours.

I liked the look of these artfully plated lightly battered seaweed taco shells, filled to bursting with chopped tuna tartare, avocado, tomato salsa, wasabi mayo and topped with caviar. A medley of crunch, umami, acid and brininess made this a compact flavour bomb.

Refreshingly citrusy with a cheeky bit of heat that simmers at the back of the throat in contrast to the chilled cocktail. This makes for a pleasant lazy Sunday sundowner on the patio at @jypsysg 's Fullerton Waterfront outlet.
