Itâs been awhile since I lunch at Teppei and this is still one of the most value-for-money chirashi / kaisen don I have had in Singapore. There is a wide range of rice bowls to choose from and the Scallop Kaisendon ($17++) is so good! The scallops are plump and sweet, and the assorted sashimi is tossed in a delicious sauce and very fresh. The portion is really generous and there is seriously so much sashimi per bowl. Each set also comes with tea and miso soup, and there is a free flow stewed radish side that is really good too - think I had 5 plates of thisđ Definitely still my favourite chirashi place in town!
The price has been mark up by additional $5-$10 as compare to normal menu price. Feel cheated
Been here several times. Food here is 10/10.
However, did not appreciate that they have a separate price menu for burpple user without informing us. This menu is priced higher than their normal menu.
Ultimately only saved ~$5 as compared to 2 mains from their original menu.
Easy fix for a bowl of chirashi. What's funny is that they have a separate pricing menu for those using the Burrple 1 for 1, the prices for it was being jacked up. Strange thou.
2nd time back at @teppei_japanese_restaurant for their Dinner Omakase ($100) and I'm glad to be impressed again! Their portions did seem like they reduced a bit, but their quality remains wonderful. We loved how there are a variety of different cooking methods, so that you won't get bored halfway through the course. Most if not all food items were fresh and well flavoured.
Top dishes got to be their Miyazaki Beef, Negitoro Roll with Uni and Unagi Don. The beef was so tender and rich, the uni was just fantastically fresh and so full of umami and the unagi was satisfyingly crispy on the outside!
Do not expect to be in a really posh environment, as the atmosphere here is similar to an izakaya bar. The chef does not really talk to you much except introducing the dishes as they were pretty much rushing around whipping up the different courses. That being said, the course does not seem rushed at all and I enjoyed all dishes at my own pace. Definitely worth a try, especially if you are new to the omakase scene!
This Japanese restaurant could easily missed out as their location wasnât so obvious here, which located at the back of Everton Park. You need to navigate around the blocks in order to get here.
But it doesnât stop people from coming to grab their meals here. Spacious restaurants with plenty of seats.
Went for their katsu don with the choice of pork cutlet and egg on the rice. Otherwise, you may opt for chicken cutlet also.
The Burpple menu is exactly the normal menu, just that everything is $10 more. Marketing it as â1-for-1â sounds good but frankly a bit deceiving. We ended up saving only $8 whole the app tells us we saved $24. Food is so-so, service is quite minimal, probably not coming back again.
Used to be legit one for one thatâs pretty value for money, but now they have a SPECIAL BURPPLE menu where they jack up the price by $TEN dollars for each dish if you want to use the one for one. Really defeats the purpose of the discount and we ended up spending a ton of money, so wouldnât be coming here again

The Garlic Miso Pasta with Bay Scallops ($20) features al-dente linguine and bay scallops sautĂ©ed in a house garlic miso paste and topped with chives and Furikake. This is creamy and flavourful, but I wish the portion and scallops are a little bigger:P Having said that, it is still very worth it with Burpple Beyondâs 1-for-1 deal. Cleaned my plate!
Food was great, serving size was big and service was good. The one for one burpple deal was a cherry on top.
First time having a yolk in my chirashi don but i must say it blended really well together with the chunks of salmon and tuna and the meal was delicious. Would definitely head back and order this again.
