Presenting a refreshed menu, Paddy Hills has just launched a new line up of dishes last evening featuring 6 specially crafted mains which incorporates premium Italian Black Autumn Truffles all the way from Umbria! Available for a limited time only (till they deplete their supply), the items have managed to showcase a good variety of ways to enjoy the seasonal truffles, all with intriguing flavour pairings and elements of fun.

And my favourite would have to be the Risotto ($28). Excelling in bringing new dimension of flavors and textures to the risotto, their latest variation combines the earthy notes of sliced raw English button and porcini mushrooms together with savoury bite size chunks of soy-marinated chicken wings; finished off with a crunchy piece of parmesan chip and a single raw quail egg yolk to tie the components together. Tender and succulent, the wings might be an odd choice but it worked well with the creamy grains and I enjoyed it with the skin. Furthermore, complete with a whiff of truffle, the dish was not too heavy but the portion is good for sharing.

Thank you Cassie for the the kind invite and Paddy Hills for the hospitality!

3.5 munchies: Loaded with porcini, raw English buttons, and shavings of fresh black autumn truffles from Umbria, Italy, the Risotto was cooked through to a creamy consistency. The raw quail egg yolk and Parmesan chip sitting above added richness and crisp to the multi- textured and flavoured rice. Finished off with delicious chicken jus, I say lose the soy-marinated chicken wing that served no purpose to the dish.

The Risotto is one of the 7 newly-launched dishes that features the Italian black truffle. Available for a limited time only.

This was a hosted meal by Paddy Hills; many thanks to Cassie for extending the invitation!

The squid ink rice actually had this wok hei taste to it, and the onsen egg mixed into it made it even more rich and flavourful. It could taste slightly too cloy but yet addictive. I actually finished it on my own while I see other tables sharing it among 2 to 4 persons even. The fried chicken was very meaty with thin batter which is always better than having more batter than meat. Overall, really love this dish!

This did not turn out like anything I'd expected. But I am not complaining!

The scrambled egg (I asked for the yolk to be included because by right, this is made with only egg white) was a small, neat, slightly-flattened ball of moist fluffiness. It came surrounded by a lush "forest" of sprightly kale, sweet potato leaves, crisp sweet pea, crunchy asparagus and broccoli. The kicker though was the finely-shaved Parmesan and lemon zest crumbs. Those, along with the add-on of grilled "chilli" chicken, really upped the feistiness of the entire dish.

This is a common man full breakfast, not a common man portion and it keeps a common man full! The portion is huge, which partly explains the price tag.

Portobello Mushroom. Home made chrorizo baked bean is sooo nice with a slight crunch. Bacon. Pork Sausage. Vegetable rosti which i thought it tasted like coleslaw with mint sour cream. Two eggs in any style, i had scrambled eggs on toast. And, confit herb tomato! Such a big plate i can't decide where to start. It is sooo bad that every item on the plate tasted so good too!

Will be back to try different item on the menu. And, no doubt even if it's just for a good cup of coffee.

Loved the juicy chunks of lobster on the buttery 'slow grilled' roll!! I was so pleasantly surprised by how generous they were with the lobster chunks too. And the sauce was creamy but not overwhelming!!

One of the perks and burps of following Burpple is tracking down delicious food places, especially a hidden gem like Bincho.

It is hidden, quite literally. While the entrance is actually at the back facing the car park, Bincho is accessible by walking in through Hua Bee Restaurant.

Now that Bincho makes its lunch menu (comprises of wallet-friendly set meals) available during dinner exclusively on Sundays, I have more excuses to indulge in a good meal before going back to work the next day. 😜 Each set comes with an appetizer, salad, karaage, soup, pickled vegetables and dessert.

Bincho prides itself in yakitori (grilled chicken) so there was no excuse not to try its signature Yakitori Don Set. Having read the review from @veronicaphua, we decided to get Beef Tongue Don Set as well. 😙

The appetizer, Salmon with Mayonnaise and Salmon Roe, melted in our mouths and they tasted exquisitely delicious. We loved the Fried Chicken Skin Salad because of the crunchiness without the greasy aftertaste. 😋 Well, the Fried Chicken Drumlets were finger-licking tasty, so savory and thickly coated with sauce that they stole the limelight from the mains. The chicken soup was a simple warm comforting broth and it had rice crackers which we really enjoyed.

Here comes the main highlights... The grilled chicken in the Yakitori Don was aromatic with its slightly charred and crispy skin, moist and firm meat. On another hand, the Beef Tongue was tender and oishii~~ with a balanced natural sweetness and savory taste from its marinate sauce. 😍 We also enjoyed the grilled vegetables that Chef Asai spent much time grilling. It was definitely a great dining experience without leaving a hole in my wallet. This rewards repeat visits to Bincho! 👍

The $130 meat platter is definitely a must try from this restaurant. There are 7 dishes served in a generous amount that really satisfied our 4 pax meat cravings, starting from the crispy fish fillet that was very well done cooked although came out a little soggy but the taste wasn't compromised at all, served with delicious tartare sauce. Next thing we tried was the garden salad with amazing vinaigrette sauce. The sweet battered corn came a little bit overcooked to my liking, and the truffle french fries was quite standard. Then we moved on to the angus steak, It was really tasty and we enjoyed the slight charcoal burn taste. The grilled chicken leg was very well marinated, and grilled to the right amount to keep the meat juicy. The last dish we tried was the signature ribs that came with sweet and savoury glazing, the meat was overall tender and tasty. Not forget to mention that we had a lot of fun experience pairing and tasting a few different great Italian wines with different type of meat. I definitely recommend anyone to have at least a glass of their Italian wine, as this will give interesting boost of flavour of the meat, especially the grilled chicken. With just a short stroll from the 6th Avenue MRT, I would definitely come back and bring family and friends to try out great western food with reasonable price.

Not forgetting the slices of bread to soak up all the creamy seafoody goodness.

Wow wow @ninjabowl, I've said this so many times but I really need to find a time to go back!

Easily the best and most authentic Italian gourmet pizza I've ever had in Singapore. I've been to many parts of Italy and had the real thing, so saying that is something (seriously though, good pizza in Italy is not really a fair comparison anyway). Pictured: Their take on Hawaiian pizza and Beef roast pizza. They're slightly under 20 bucks a pizza. Two pizzas are more than enough for a couple's dinner. Bill came up to ~$70 with dessert and drinks of course. I wouldn't recommend it to people without access to a car however.

Asked for the Chef's Daily Selection from the Full Blood & Black Angus from Australia & The Chef delivered a Steak from Blackmore Ranch. (💵S$85/220g) 🐮
.
Few Cattle produced in Japan have a Wagyu Bloodline as Pure as David Blackmore's Ranch, always producing Exceptional Beef such as the one on this plate. 🍽
It has a more Pronounced Beef flavour than other Wagyu. Despite the lack of Fats/Marbling, the Beef taste rivals that of a Well Marbled Wagyu. Tender, Juicy & always Medium 😋

Many always seemed to forgo this outlet, because of the "healthy" outlook, the rice always seemed to give. But I personally like it a lot. The red bean glutinous rice is very light, but extremely gorgeous in terms of texture, and flavour. Steamed right through, the wooden crate of goodness still maintain its soft, chewy texture throughout, in each and every grain. The portion is great for one pax, and honestly it's quite filling for a decent meal with a side of pickles and soup. When you are there, try their seasonal rice which is usually heavier flavour (great for anyone who need a bang in taste). And right now on their menu, is their Wagyu steamed rice, which is phenomena. Had to grab a few mouthful of the steamed glutinous rice from my Mother just cause I couldn't resist. And those mere mouthful were gorgeous. Obvious piece of beef in between the grains, savoury with enough salt but yet light and not oily. Wonderful on its own that you wouldn't need any side pairing.
