Drinks stall with a fancy menu. Unfortunately my selections were sold out - coupled with a rude server. I ended up with this, which was so mediocre I'm reminded it's a food court.

When Chendol was served in a beverage cup and contained sea salt, this dessert (or did it convert into a beverage) became a novelty of the drinks stall within Food Junction, for S$2.20. Though we had probably been accustomed to salted caramel already, the sea salt was subtle and sort of balanced the sweetness.

But if this were to be compared with a bowl of shaved ice dessert, then I would prefer the latter, for it was easier to consume with a tablespoon than with a straw no matter what.

The Vietnamese stall within Food Junction also had Bahn Mi available for dine-in and takeaway. Costing S$6.90, they seemed to have also toasted the baguette before stuffing the fresh ingredients in. Fresh stuff always tastes more flavourful in a Bahn Mi, donโ€™t you think?

When I first had this for takeaway, I was delighted by the sheer crispiness of the baguette crust. Though things might have gone a little messy with the crumbs, I would classify this as a happy mess no less.

From What The Fish! SG we had fresh green pepper seabass. The fish is first grilled, then poached over fire in rich broth and an assortment of spices to bring out the aromatic taste. The spice does build up for this. If you're a non-spicy eater, opt for one of the other 5 different tantalising flavours instead ๐ŸŸ

This is supposed to come with 2 bowls of pearl rice but we didn't take that as there would be too much food for us.

Specialised in fuss-free quality beef gyudon, prepared fresh daily with air-flown meat and homemade sauces, the beef slices at Gyudon Toraoh are served atop a bed of caramelised onions. Comes with miso soup and salad ๐Ÿ„

Kid-friendly variations are available too!

Started off as a small restaurant along Kampong Bahru Road in Oct 2018, this rendition from Putian Heng Hwa Cuisine comes in quite a good portion!

Apart from Chinese cuisine, the GWC Food Junction also has a wide mix of affordable eats. For the health-conscious, try out healthy and authentic Northern Vietnamese cuisine from Viet Taste that is free from MSG and preservatives. A modern fusion of traditional tze char and fish head steamboat is also available at Queen of Wok.

Alternatively, head over to the no-frills, fuss-free Korean food stall (Hungry Korean) owned by former Mediacorp artiste Cassandra See. An extensive beverage list with soju and makgeolli cocktails awaits!

Unwind at the alfresco rooftop garden, paired with a glass of Hoegaarden Rosee draught beer. With fresh cold German draft available round the clock, who would imagine you're located within Food Junction's latest train-themed concept โœจ

We were impressed by Der Biergarten's The pork knuckle remained crispy even though we let it sit for a while. Tender meat paired with chunky mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. If you are in a hurry/dining solo, try their new German rice bowl option too!

For beverages, we had a mix of specialty quenchers and juice blends from ke. Our favourite is the Kopi Slush!

Coco Cloud is a mix of coconut bits
blended with fresh coconut juice, pulp, coconut ice cream, and natural butterfly pea flower for dreamy hues of blue.

For those looking for a twist on familiar tastes, try the sea salt chendol. This signature drink incorporates nostalgic flavours of age-old classics into trendy, modern-day renditions. Though I'd prefer a less sweetened version.

Despite visiting in the evening, we still gulped down quite abit of the Kopi Slush. Smooth and creamy! ๐Ÿ‘

Last but not least, we had the Osmanthus Oolong Lemon Punch. This 100% punched lemon tea sure packed a punch. We requested for less sugar and it turned out way too sour. Do stick to the regular or more sugar option if you try!

There are not many places selling putian cuisine in Singapore, so we were eager to try this rendition when we spotted it on the top floor of Great World City. Offered by Putian Heng Hwa Cuisine (located within Food Junction), the tender chicken comes with black fungus. Best enjoyed with a bowl of rice ๐Ÿš

From Fitra chicken rice

Beef pepper rice ($6.90)

Tasty! Beef was not alot but the rice and butter with rice and pepper was nice. Goes well with the honey sesame sauce.

Spicy sliced pork set ($5.50 on promo)
UP $6.50

Comes with substantial amount of meat. Taste could be stronger. But ok for the price paid.

Chicken Chop ($5.90 promo on daily weekday lunch) was quite bland, marinated and grilled on outer skin. Chicken chop with topped with mushroom sauce (bland and not that thick) consisted of fried fries (quite salty) and onion rings (just ๐Ÿ‘).

Grilled chicken chop ($5.90 on promo)

Chicken chop was nicely marinated and grilled. Flavourful and juicy, comes with a sauce and I chose mushroom sauce. Dish comes with 2 side dishes. I had the mashed potato and the broccoli. Broccoli is just boiled, so I ate them with mushroom sauce as well. Mash potato was nice as well.

Such value for money!! Worth the short queue at the western food stall!

Beef ball noodles soup ($6.90)

Bought from Vietnamese stall.
Soup is light. Able to customise to have a bowl without the mint leaves and onions. Beef balls are soft and tastes good with chilli sauce.

Dry fried kway teow ($6.50)
Bought from the original delights mini wok stall. Noodles were a bit oily but was cooked well, with good amount of beef as well. Beef was also cooked well, not tough nor chewy. Will patronise again but ask for less oil.

Grilled pork with noodles ($7.90)

Grilled pork was done to perfection.. juicy and flavourful. Fried roll and meatballs were also nicely made.

Very appetising bowl of noodles.

Meesua was flavourful ($6.50) and comes with prawns, clams and alot of egg. Tasty!

Roasted chicken rice set ($6.90) from the halal chicken rice stall! Yummy. The soup was herbal-ly and chicken meat was tender while well roasted.

May look like your humble plate of chicken rice but with its Guangxi origins, offer a taste delightfully different. I am drawn to the whiff of fragrant chicken rice, the tender chicken meat, the special flowy egg. They got it right from the sour chili to the Guangxi garnish to the taogay (bean sprouts!)
