Public Service Announcement:
The folks at No Name Hainanese Curry Rice at Beo Crescent are finally back after 3 months!
The coffeeshop has been spruced up and no longer looks old and dungy with stained floor and wall tiles. They have also thankfully installed strong wall fans at their outdoor seating so that we no longer need to sweat through our curry png.
What has not changed though is their food and the long lines. I was there at 1030 am on a weekday and had to wait an hour for my food. This was not helped by several massive takeaway orders ahead of me which held up the line.
So do come back and sappork!
Traditional Hainanese curry rice located at a corner within an old-school coffee shop. Like a normal cai png stall, we get to choose if we want to have our ingredients placed all together on a plate of curry rice or have them served on separate plates. We ordered the crispy pork chop, tau pok, braised pork belly, stewed cabbage and cereal prawns served with rice dosed with a trio of curry, braised sauce and chap chye gravy.
The crispy pork was a popular choice among diners with almost every table ordering it. It was fried till crispy and it is very addictive. The tender with melty layers of braised pork belly soaked up the braised sauce well that comes with subtle herbal notes. Stewed cabbage was well seasoned and cooked till soft. Another popular item was the crunchy and deshelled cereal prawns that consist of coarse bread crumbs, cereal and egg. All these are best enjoyed with a plate packed with flavours, rich and not overly cloying curry rice 》$17
Visit my fav curry rice before the coffeeshop is close for renovation from 6 Sept 2022. Heard that they are not coming back after 2 months but while I in the queue, ppl told me that they will be back once renovation completes. Anyway, eat first in case they are gone.
Location: Beo Crescent Curry Rice, 40 Beo Crescent, Singapore
This popular curry rice attracts long queues even on weekdays so you can imagine the snaking queues on a late Saturday afternoon.
I think it's quite overhyped though because I wasn't wowed at all by the curry nor the liao? It all amounted to a whopping $15 too when I didn't even order much meat.
My hubby and I had strolled over to this hawker stall after wolfing down the Fishball Mee Pok at Havelock Road Food Centre. Hence, I wasn’t famished when it came to our turn, which explains why I did not over-order. Our modest (by my standards 😂) spread comprised of deepfried pork chop, curry sotong, braised “tau pok”, fried eggs and stewed cabbage which we savoured with white rice drowned in curry.
Going to be honest. I have never considered Hainanese Curry Rice to be all that exciting in terms of aroma and flavour but it sure makes up for that with a multitude of textures.
Very crispy pork, tender pork belly with egg and veggie topped with curry sauce, makes a great breakfast/lunch! And also the price is affordable for only ~$5.. Curry sauce could be stronger tho

- Hainanese Pork Chop🍖
- Fried Prawns🍤
- Cabbage🥗
- Sunny Side-up🍳
The pork chop belongs to the thin and crispy type, can’t really taste or even see the meat, more like a pork-crackling I would say. It’s not bad but I prefer a thicker / meaty pork chop though.
The prawns were the must-order, like it crispy and the seasoning was good (not too salty) but really complement well with the rice and curry sauce!
The cabbage was pretty soft, and the sunny side-up with running yolk, nothing to complain, decent~
Last but not least the curry sauce, not that spicy, just the spice to add a little kick, and it’s quite diluted, not ask thick as I expected, at least makes one feel less heavy and less sinful, not bad…

Be prepared to queue for a good 30min for this during lunch hour…
Damage: $5.50 (excluding coffee)
Crispy Pork Chop sotong,Stewed cabbage and eggplant (not for me 🤣),Drizzle my plain rice with tasty curry.

I had been thinking about this jaw-dropping pork chop. So I ordered two portions! I mean, why go for variety when you know what you love? This time I also chose the cereal prawns, which some people consider a signature item. Not bad lah.

Totally did not plan to eat curry rice at 8am but we happen to be in the area and there were only a few people in line soooo we knew we had to get it! One of their must get is the crispy pork, which are fried till extra crispy yums🤤Their curry is on the thinner side but is still as flavourful though we much prefer the curry to be thicker. Be sure to go early as the stall constantly attracts huge crowds so it’s really quite tough to snag a table at this small coffeeshop!
Went at 1.30pm and the queue was still very long although it moves quickly. Ordered fried egg (drizzle the dark soya sauce), pork chop and sambal sotong. The latter was a mistake so I’ll stick with either the cereal prawn or pork belly in future. But the egg was runny and the pork chop was so crispy. The rice looks messy but the flavours were out of this world after they soaked in the different curries added.
After lunch, do buy some ondeh ondeh cakes from next door confectionary for dessert! Full bodied coconut taste and gula Melaka.
Its messy goodness plate.
Plain rice served with crispy fried pork chop, sunny side egg and stewed cabbage and finished it with tasty curry.
The highlight of course the crispy pork chop.
Its really cripsy and crunchy 😋.
💰$5.

Hainanese Curry Rice, the legendary no name famous Beo Crescent curry rice that’s been around since 1988! Our favourite dishes: .
.
▪️Signature biscuit-like crispy pork chop that’s so heavenly shiok and addictive!! It’s in the maximum crispy form and it’s so crunchy! .
.
▪️Cereal Prawns, another Super crispy dish that we enjoy! Batter is not very thick, it’s very flavorful and the entire prawn is so crispy and chewable except parts of its tail. .
.
▪️Braised Pork, the fats ratio is just right and very tender soft! It’s dark braised side is intensely flavorful with a mixture of salty sweet sauce. .
.
▪️Stewed Cabbage, can’t be missed when eating Hainanese Curry Rice! Super soft and tasty! .
.
Not forgetting that overflowing mixed curry gravy all over a plate of white rice, too irresistible and shiok!
It allows the noodle to soak in the broth while maintaining the moist texture for consumption.

The curry rice is drizzled w 3 different gravy- 2 curries and 1 braised sauce (I guess). Homely taste to pair if off with braised pork belly, fried runny egg, and cabbage. Try the MVP- crispy pork chop and cereal prawn!!
A beautiful mess. Rice piled with curry, braised sauce, crispy thin fried pork, braised pork belly, cabbage and topped off with a yummy fried egg. Love it that they added a dash of dark soy sauce on the fried egg.
It may look messy but definitely the best Hainanese Curry Rice I’ve ever had. Long queues during peak hours but the experienced “production line” ensures you get your food quickly!
