Always hearty to have a bowl of hot soup and noodles in the morning. This makes the perfect food after a good hike. Ming Faโ€™s bar Chor mee soup is very rich with flavour and they are also quite generous with the ingredients. Their sauce for the dry noodles is spicy, sweet and salty, which is very palatable.

Expected Damage: $5-$6

With the Thomson-East Coast Line, good eats in Upper Thomson area are within reach for those who live in TPY. For takeaway order, pay $0.70 extra from Usual price of $4.70. Generous fishballs, fish dumplings and fish cakes as usual. Pork lard lovers will be happy as they give a few pieces in the bowl. It becomes one of our fav noodle joint in SG and there is no doubt why it's been around for so long.(est.1946) ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ’ฏ

with clams, v. fresh prawns and Fuzhou fishballs alongside bouncy meepok, big chunks of fishcakes and mushrooms for $6.80? Yes. Extra points that it's served super fast. If only the vinegar tinge was stronger than the tomato sauce & the Fuzhou fishballs was hotter for me. Otherwise, this is a pretty indulgent meepok.

What I like about this place is the decently reliable quality across visits, and the ease of customisation when ordering.
.
This chain has been operating for well over 10 years, but their main outlet still draws a near constant queue during peak periods.
.
The mee pok / wide flat egg noodles have a slight al-dente chew, picking up the slick yet punchy gravy, strong with sour savoury flavour, and just a tad of spicy on the back.
.
The pork meat balls are juicy with a satisfying chew, the minced pork is fresh with meaty savoury sweet flavour, and the lettuce is fresh and crisp.
.
The tender braised mushrooms have a juicy earthy salty savoury note. Enhanced with prawns which lend a premium feel.

This was a really decent food option along the Upper Thomson MRT area and we really loved their noodles! Today, we got the mini hotpot noodles with mee kia and the noodles were cooked to our liking once again - they were very QQ and they were not overly soggy as well! Furthermore, the stall was pretty generous with the chilli and vinegar so it was a pretty wonderful bowl of noodles for breakfast!

The mini hotpot comes with quite a lot of ingredients, with fishballs, fishcakes, sliced pork, minced pork, pig liver and mushrooms amongst others! The soup was fairly normal, however, although the generous ingredients and the wonderful noodles makes the dish quite a steal for $6.50!

The stall seems to be a lot less crowded during COVID times and we didn't face difficulties getting a seat this time! Do go and visit, especially since the stall is now much more accessible with the opening of the Upper Thomson MRT station!

I love this bak chor mee. Every strand of mee pok is slick with vinegar (I chose vinegar, no chilli), yet itโ€™s not too oily. Thereโ€™s just the right amount of ingredients and noodles, and the soup is brimming with pork bits that make it light and tasty.

Quality comfort food. Thereโ€™s a good amount of bouncy fishballs, smooth fish cake, and a single her piao. I like it that they use the slimmer type of kway teow. The soup is light yet tasty. You can see the tiny pork remnants that they used to boil the soup, and it doesnโ€™t leave you thirsty.

Ordered the small bowl ($4.80) and Iโ€™m surprised itโ€™s packed full of minced meat and other ingredients. The sauce has a good balance of spice and vinegar. The noodles are super satisfying and this is one of my favourite BCM in Singapore ๐Ÿ˜‹

One of my favourite supper spot as they serve delicious local noodles and close at 4.30am daily. The fuzhou fishball is basically fishball filled with meat and theirs burst inside the mouth upon biting in.

Mushroom Minced Meat Noodles $4.50
Fuzhou Fishball Soup $4.50
Highlights: fuzhou fishball, minced meat noodles

Hands-down one of the best BCM in Singspore, in my opinion. I especially love how the noodles are cooked al dente and are evenly coated with the chilli that really packs a punch!

Chili was grainy for a fine grind and the sauce just seems really flavourful from the mix of chili and vinegar for some reason. U can add in more chili but it overpowers everything else. Overall really shiok bowl with well cooked liver and big pork ball. Soup tasted flat though

One of my favourite bak chor mee in singapore!! It has just the right amoun of vinegar and spice, and the noodle is really Q/al dente! The soup is also to die for

It opens till really late so it's a great supper spot as well

Chicken cutlet noodles + FuZhou fishballs (~$5.50+ $2 for 3) was a huuuuge portion ๐Ÿœ Noodles were abit too vinegary, but very springy and it had a nice bite to it!
.
Chicken cutlet was much more cutlet to chicken which I didnโ€™t rly like :-( but nonetheless it was still crispy ๐Ÿ— FuZhou ่Š‹ๅœ† wAsssss soooogudddd, the right amount of fishball to meat!!! Meat wasnโ€™t too fatty or dry ๐Ÿ˜›

One of the better bar chor mee I have ever tasted.

Located along the shophouses of upper Thomson road. This place has been renovated since I visited about 1 year ago.

The chilli used is still as good.

Will return again for more.

Mee pok was al dente, not too soft and not too hard. Just the right bite. Flavoring was super on point - a delightful blend of saltiness, spice and vinegar. Every spoonful entice another one. Mushrooms were very flavorful and well-braised too.

Then you should visit this place though parking can be quite a pain. I had the hotpot which was very filling. Itโ€™s slightly more expensive than the usual.

Do not belittle this simple bowl - it is really very SHIOK ah! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ The meepok was cooked almost al dente, springy with a firm bite. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Coated lusciously with their special chilli sauce & vinegar, it was a burst of flavours in every bite! ๐Ÿคค
.
For $4.50 a bowl, there was a generous amount of minced meat, tender pork slices, pork liver slices & earthy dried mushrooms! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Though there was only 1 meatball, it is bigger than usual & had a very firm & chewy texture. Like its taste!! ๐Ÿ’• U can also cleanse ur palate or keep the noodles moist with a splash of their soup - rather plain but at least it's not MSG-laden! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The springy noodles were tossed in vinegar and chili sauce giving the bowl of noodles a vinegary and mild spice taste. The fu zhou fish balls were bouncy and soft with a savory pork center. Nothing beats having a hearty bowl of noodles for breakfast!
