yummy and affordable gyudon! i feel like dabaoing from this outlet tastes better than eating in, the rice always feels too dry when i eat in. got XM size this time but i’m not v convinced that there’s more meat than M size lol
This is one of the dishes for the value set lunch from 11am to 5pm which I ate today. The set comes with salad and free flow of drinks at the drink bar. The meal costs $8 nett and the baked tumeric rice is tasty. The chicken is also tender and the creamy garlic goes well with tumeric rice.
My first time trying! Was p decent, beef slices and onions were thin and soft, rice was of decent quality (but tori q is still better) and sauce wasn’t too sweet or salty. Not too dry nor saucy! Mixing a runny egg yolk into the rice and beef was tasty. Miso soup was q standard, had quite a bit of kelp. Kangkong was alright, crunchy and had lots of chopped garlic. They served us roasted rice tea upon being seated.
Overall pretty decent and cheap compared to other options in the mall cluster. I wouldn’t mind returning to try other items, but I won’t actively *want* to go~
Eating Bee Kia Restaurant twice in under 3 days!
On this second visit, we got the following items:
-Fish Hor Fan ($6)
-Hokkien Mee ($5)
-Har Cheong Gai (4 chicken wings for $10)
Forgot to request specifically for the fish hor fan to be in the signature black bean sauce! Remember to put in this special request if you like it to be so!
Har Cheong Gai tasted better than the last time I tried it 3 years ago. I must say I enjoy it more now!

Type: Restaurant/Local
Visited a few days ago to bring my relatives from Malaysia! However, sad to say, the standard has dropped compared to a couple of years ago. Used to be a family favorite and we would visit every other week when I was younger at the old shophouse-style shop.
Rice: Good, very fragrant and flavorful compared to many other stores!
Sauce: Nice, goes well with rice
Chicken: Didn’t make the cut for us as the meat wasn’t that tender or flavorful.
Kangkong: Too salty, had to wash the sauce off in my soup. If the salty taste was reduced, would have been a good dish.
Roast pork: Fail… skin is not crispy AT ALL, and looks like a factory made dish?!
Overall, a disappointing experience from an old regular. Don’t think I will be revisiting if standard doesn’t improve…
My rating: 2/5 ⭐️
Great if you need a quick lunch.
Order was done in less than 5mins
Dine in even had a glass of hot tea too.
Medium gyudon for 4.9.
They even have a smaller one at 4.2 too!
I came by for more a snack so ordered this. The curry seemed to have more spices than other places. The chicken objectively was decent, but as a whole was small and little.
Founded by Wee Toon Ouut in 1987, this beloved brand is today among the most popular and accessible around, serving a good rendition along other home-style comfort food.
.
The chicken has a tender, juicy, slightly springy chew, with pleasant meaty sweet savoury flavour, enhanced with a touch of salty sweet savoury nutty notes from the gravy.
.
The poached chicken is more clean-tasting with a thin gelatinous layer beneath the slippery skin, while the equally popular roasted chicken has a faint smoky aroma and a slightly crisp skin.
.
The long-grain rice is soft and loose, gently slick but not overly greasy, with lovely grainy savoury sweet flavour. The sliced juicy cucumbers and crisp spring onions lend vegetal sweet flavour.
.
Served with dark sweet soy sauce with salty savoury sweet flavour, crushed ginger with herbal sweet spice notes, chili with spicy savoury kick, and a clear chicken broth.

Yakiniku marinate is on the sweeter side compared to the gyudon. rice was too much.
Finalled tried SUKIYA! They opened another outlet at Square 2 a few months ago, and I finally paid a visit! The queue on a weekday lunch early 12+pm timing was still moderately alright. Around 10 ppl infront of us, and the queue did move quite fast! This is because they only allow a 30 mins dining in time!
The food was also served pretty fast, japanese standard!
In case you do not eat beef like me, they do have alot of chicken and unagi options as well! For chicken, there is charcoal grilled yakitori or fried chicken karage. Was trying to avoid fried food, hence I opted for the Half Boiled Egg Yakitori Bowl ($6.90 for medium bowl; price is nett)!
Was quite surprised when the egg was served still in its shell. Thought that it would be cracked into the bowl nicely for us. But cracking the egg by yourself enhanced the experience for me LOL!
Initially thought that the chicken portions were too little, but it turned out to be just right if you ration out your rice with chicken portions nicely.
Do ask the staff for chilli powder if you need it! I have no idea why they dont just place it on every table for use though.
I was also quite pleasantly surprised that the complimentary water served was not plain water, but a warm 麦茶(mugi-cha; barley tea)! Really completes the experience!
Felt transported to Japan for the quick 30mins lunch! Recommend to give this place a try, if the queues are not too long!
