[BEAUTY WORLD, SINGAPORE] Having tried @tsukijikaisendon, I had to try @zushishou knowing that they are from the same owners. Undoubtedly, their sashimi quality is similar though I find myself liking the seasoned sushi rice from Tsukiji more.
Their Kaisen Don 🐟 ($20.90) is really a sight to behold. Incredibly thick sashimi slices of hamachi, salmon and scallops is really the dream of every sashimi lover. Their hamachi is probably my favourite, due to its sweet, clean and fatty flavour. I don't think I need to say much given the visuals of the bowl 🤣 really worth it considering how much sashimi you're getting!
If you like variety, their Irodori Chirashi Don 🐟 ($19.90) might be your go-to. The sashimi here is chunky, and you get tuna, mackerel and a tiny bit of uni in addition to the ones mentioned above. The uni is my favourite, as it was like a shot of seafood flavour that was intense but clean.
Somehow the rice here seems under seasoned as compared to that of Tsukiji, but still good! My only other gripe is that their using some kind of wasabi paste, not the freshly grated one but I guess it's difficult to achieve that given the affordable price point.
Definitely coming back for more!
Second time at Buta Kin!
This time trying their japanese curry rice too!
-Pork Tonkatsu Curry Rice ($6.80)
-Special Black Garlic Ramen ($9)
The food was all prepared hot! A freshly fried pork tonkotsu provides for a hearty and satisfying meal! Though I would have preferred if they could give more pieces of potatoes/carrots for the curry!

Ajiya Okonomiyaki is a delightful little gem for Japanese food lovers, especially those with a soft spot for okonomiyaki. Nestled in a cozy yet comfortable space with traditional Japanese decor, the restaurant immediately transports you to Japan, making it a great spot to escape into a little slice of Japan right here in Singapore.
Their okonomiyaki, which you can make yourself or have the attentive staff prepare, stands out as one of the best we’ve tried in the Singapore. The ingredients are fresh, and each bite delivers the right balance of savory flavors with a hint of sweetness, all beautifully combined by the creamy Japanese mayo and tangy okonomiyaki sauce.
For an extra treat, we also tried the Gyutan, or grilled beef tongue, which the staff expertly grilled tableside. It was cooked to perfection, achieving that tender, smoky taste that’s hard to beat. However, the Yakisoba fell a bit short; while decent, it didn’t quite reach the same high standard as the other dishes.
- Thick slices of chicken thigh which gave a satisfying bite.
- Sauce was slightly grainy but I found the mayo too surfeiting and the combi with salted egg reminded me of artificial cheese taste 🍳
- Generously covered in torched mentaiko sauce mixed with mayo and drizzled with teriyaki sauce of sorts 🍣
- Savoury and sweet with hints of smokiness though it could get a bit overpowering for me.
- Enjoyed the rice drenched in curry that’s not too starchy with a tinge of sweetness!
- Breaded chicken retained its crisp crunchiness and wasn’t oily 😋
- Tamago was rather flat like a regular folded omelette, but I liked the salty sweet notes probably cooked with dashi soy sauce.
DIY Japanese pancake restaurant where one can try your hand at cooking or leave it to the professionals. We opted for the latter to ensure that it was grilled to perfection but can imagine it might be fun to give it a try yourselves.
Choose your own ingredients for the pancake and we opted for prawn/ taco, smoked duck and shiitake. Sweet-savory mix with generous topping of okonomiyaki sauce, mayo, and umami bonito flakes and seaweed. Crisp exterior with a creamy center of egg, greens, red ginger, and tempura crisps. Preferred the taco over prawn for a chewier textural contrast.
A tad pricey for what it is but enjoyable and authentic experience.

Kids will like this place, my friends have brought their kids here after our visit here.
One of the best Okonomiyaki I ever had in Singapore. We actually ordered a 2nd Okonomiyaki. Yums
- Garlic fried rice was awesome.
- Scallops Mentai were huge and juicy
- other dishes were just fillers, nothing fantastic
End of the day, u are coming here for the Okonomiyaki.
Quite nice and the ingredients are fresh.. worth it come once
Normal fried rice but the price is decent
In love with this fluffy bed of egg omelette topped with plump, succulent oysters 🦪 and salty-savoury soy sauce with a slight hint of sweetness. And there’s nothing better than eating your food right off from a sizzzzling hot plate! ♥️

Also topped up $1.50 for their Salmon Miso Soup (UP: $4) because of their ongoing promo! Had little expectations but this was not bad with a decent amount of salmon, tofu and seaweed, though the miso taste is a bit diluted.
