๐ฅ Whoโs up for a hearty, sizzling feast? TANYUโs Grilled Fish with Seven Ingredients (ๆฏ้ชๆบ็ค้ฑผ) featuring Qingjiang Fish (ๆธ ๆฑ้ฑผ) is the perfect dish to share with friends or just treat yourself to something seriously delicious. ๐โจ
This dish is a flavor bomb! Think tender, grilled fish swimming in a rich, bubbling broth loaded with beef and seven awesome ingredients: potato, black fungus, kelp, luncheon meat, beef tripe, winter melon, and bean sprout. Every bite is packed with bold flavors and textures. ๐ฒ
Add some toppings:
๐ฑ Spinach for a fresh touch
๐ Bamboo shoots for that nice crunch
๐ Golden mushrooms for an earthy vibe
๐ข Grilled XL Squid โ smoky, tender, and oh-so-good
๐ฅฃ Traditional beancurd โ soft and silky
Back at Tan Yu! Already lost count of how many times I have dined here! My familyโs favourite food place!
Got the fragrant garlic grilled fish this time round as still having sore throat/cough! They seem to have changed the recipe for the garlic! It used to be like soy garlic and is darker brown. Now it is like garlic butter and a very light yellow hue! It also comes with brinjals now! Lots of crispy garlic bits given too!
We visited the Jewel Outlet and there is now a new $2.8++ per pax unlimited ice jelly dessert bar! You can take unlimited bowls of it and make your own dessert bowl however you want it! Quite VFM as we each had at least 3 bowls each!
Been craving for something to warm and comforting with this rainy weather โ๏ธ and the newly-introduced executive set meals (with NEW flavours) at Tanyu hits the spot for me!
We tried all 5 flavours, including

Gotta say we were quite split between the classic signatures and new flavours. My personal favourite remains the fresh green pepper fish fillet but the other flavours are pretty good too! ๐
Had a taste of the new flavour - fish fillet with sauerkraut ๐ This is part of the new executive lunch menu, which offers boneless fish fillet + rice + drinks from 11.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays. Found this to be quite a hassle-free dining experience and itโs quite worth!
For those who canโt take spice, opt for the soy sauce grilled fish fillet. Topped with carrot and cucumber cubes, the non-spicy rendition of the fish also comes with cabbage and beancurd skin. With the weekday executive set meal, youโre also entitled to rice and soft drinks ๐ฅค

Went to Tanyu and ordered their Chongqing fish with added tofu and mushrooms! We also ordered 3 fried frog legs to try and a drink. The total bill came out to be about $30+/pax for 3 pax and I liked how the sides could be added to our liking (we get to select the mushrooms etc. and it is really filling together with the fish).๐
Overall ratings would be a 7/10 for me as I do like the fish etc but personally, it is a little expensive in my opinion and would only eat it when im really craving for steamed fish (not a hugehuge fan)๐
Your frontline staff manager told us today lunchtime we couldnโt go in even though 3 of us were already here waiting for past 1 hour because he couldnโt add 1 more person when my friend may or may not turn up as he did not reply.
We do not understand why there is the difference between a table for 3 and 4, and the inflexibility of your entry policy, even though we will be ordering straightaway.
It definitely ruin our dining experience on our birthday month and to us it is an integral part of your branding and customer service which can be improved much.
The grilled egg plant is a crowd pleaser, everyone loved it.
The fried mantou is ok but I wish they had used the small versions. It's more enjoyable.
The onion noodle is quite nice of you like the taste of onion noodles. One the of person in our group who prefers chilli noodles found it ordinary.
I think the grill lamb skewers is jux so so. It has a distinctive gamey taste. It's well seasoned with cumin and other spices and quite tender for a grilled lamb. But I would skip it the next time as it's not a die die must order type of dish for me.
I highly recommend this place. The skin of the fish is lightly grilled and we can taste the nice smoky flavour combined with the garlicy sauce. So good with plain rice. We order the limbo fish and added some lotus roots slices and black fungus. Go for the green chilli if you like spice but do not want it too spicy
Fish was tender and tasted perfect. However the rice that was Weber with it was undercooked.
Mala was more numb than spicy so for those unable to handle spice, go ahead.

My tongue was on FIRE ๐ฅ indulging in this Green Peppers feast from @tanyu_sg! Tried their recently-launched baby lobster dish ๐ฆ & it was numbingly good ๐ถ!ย With 35-40 selected baby lobsters, choose it stir-fried with Green Pepper ๐ or Perilla - I opted for the former.
.
Of course, a TANYU meal is never complete without their grilled fish! ๐ I had my favourite Grilled Limbo Fish with Green Pepper which was soooo succulent ๐, together with the Golden Combination (enoki mushrooms ๐, crabsticks, lotus roots & potato slices ๐ฅ).
Tan Yu recently launched two family meals for delivery on GrabFood - the Classic Family Meal ($79.80) and Luxury Family Meal ($99.80). Featured here is the Classic Family Meal, which includes 1 Grilled Limbo Fish (choose from 9 flavors), 1 Golden Combination, 2 Rice, 2 Drinks, and 2 Brown Sugar Ice Jelly.
As for their grilled fish, I really love the tenderness of their Limbo Fish, and I have tried 2 flavours so far - Chongqing Grilled Fish w/ Beancurd (the one featured here) & Grilled Fish w/ Green Pepper. Both are delicious in their own ways - the former is fragrant and mildly spicy (although I know it looks super spicy), which paired well with the silky-smooth beancurd, while the latter is more numbing with the different aroma notes from the green pepper standing out! Gotta give a thumbs up to the ingenious packaging too - everything came well-sealed, which meant no mess and made it so convenient to use!
Tried their most expensive fish (~$49) today! It was really fresh, the meat was soft and did not come with a fishy taste and most importantly, there were very few bones. However, for those of you who are going for the grilled fish, this is not the fish to get as the outside or the fish was not grilled. The green pepper flavour is still my favourite as the spice level was tolerable, but it still came with a decent serving of peppercorn that provided some numbness. Go at 11.15 am if you want to avoid the queue; otherwise be prepared to queue for an hour or longer!
Mala was fragrant, fish was fresh. The numbing sensation really grew as we continued to eat more. It was a tolerable amount of spicy which nicely balanced both the numbing sensations (้บป) and the spiciness (่พฃ). This dish was pretty standard but executed well!
We visited at about 5.30pm on a weekday and there wasnโt any queue. During peak dinner times the queue gets really long - be prepared to wait.
I like the outlet at Bugis best because itโs more well-lit๐ก so fishing for bones was made easier.
GRILLED LIMBO FISH W/ GREEN PEPPER ($45.90)
Asked to ๅ ่พฃๅ ้บป but it still wasnโt spicy enough HAHA๐คญ๐ถ We chose the Limbo fish so we could enjoy more of the plump & tender meat with less bones to deal with.
We also added WHITE NOODLES ($2.80) which became hella soggy but SO flavourful after being braised in the flavourful & robust broth ๐
Grilled Limbo Fish With Green Pepper (48.90)
Golden Combination (12.90)
Rice (1.00)
Good fish which was cooked well. They gave a lot of ingredients as well, we counted 8 crab sticks.
The grilled fish taste amazing. Not only that, even the side dish was really good. Especially the mantou.
Recommend everyone to give a shot! The downside is that sometimes the queue might be overwhelming. We went during odd hours so we managed to get a seat in 10-20minutes. Other than that, itโs a great place for dining!
