Nice dish - it has ‘wok hei’
Stumbled upon this eatery as it's always, always full with diners! Out of curiosity we checked out its menu and decided to dine in one random night. Turned out to be our best decision ever. Now this place in Taman Desa is my top place to go to whenever (almost always) I'm craving for some good old Chinese dishes. They do a pretty mean version of kulouyuk and onionlicious 'Thai Style' Sotong. Love it.
Don't look past this quaint, homely cafe in Taman Desa for delicious housemade gelato. Come for the creamy Durian Gelato (RM8.90) made with fresh D24 durian, which gets the Burpple community's seal of approval. P.s We hear the trending White Rabbit flavour is available here too!

Two of my favourite in one. If you’re doing a takeaway, be sure to keep it chilled before eating.
Freshly made in house gelato with your favourite Malaysian flavour! D24 gelato! It was creamy but would love more durian it in. Tried the Italian chocolate as well and it was so so good! RM10.90/scoop. Expect to see different flavours each week such as nangka and avocado.
This restaurant is famous for their WanTanMee but little did people know that their Chinese pastry is worth trying too. Their CharSiewSou is my favourite. The pastry is crispy and flaky while their char siew filling is lean with no fatty fats in it (that’s how I like it). The HamTanSou(lotus paste with yolk) on the other hand is a little underwhelming. Tough they are very generous with their filling, I wish the lotus paste would be a tad sweeter and the yolk to be a softer with a tad of moisture.
Tangy, sweet and creamy, Uncle Weng’s fish head noodles is a hit at this corner hawker shop. He’s too generous with the noodles, and though the deep-fried pieces of fish are soaked in the piping hot soup, it still retained its crunchiness – it was nice and salty too!
Half chicken rice and half economy rice, this stall at Restoran Tuck Tuck Tei is brimming with customers! With over 20 dishes to pick from, I still went ahead and ordered my forever love – chicken rice. Though not stated, I think they use kampung chicken here as the meat is slightly tougher. Love the sweet soya sauce drizzled over the very yellow (chicken fat maybe?) rice and the piping hot bowl of chicken and bittergourd soup on the side.
What's good here? Affordable and generous portion. The chicken did taste good but it is a bit too oily with the major part of chicken fat still remains and it is fried. You imagine. Food: 7/10
A rendang chicken that's not crispy with nasi lemak.
Not really like this dish compare to the other dish during my visit. I do wish the rendang was serve on a separate plate so the coconut rice doesn't soak up with chili oil 😅.
I'm very surprise with the quality of Softserve in a restaurant that not specialize in Softserve.
Their durian Softserve that made in house taste just like the real deal. So good. Recommended
The rich and aromatic laksa gravy with the choice of your noodle. My sarawakian friend said it doesn't taste like the authentic Sarawak laksa but it's definitely a good bowl of laksa
