Lovely place that my family and I love to spend our weekend mornings after our stroll in Botanic Gardens. Thankful for polite and friendly staff there. Kudos to Janice and her team!
With garlic bread. Nice garden setting, with occasional chickens roaming about. đ
Was here on a rainy Tuesday Afteroon.
Had their Homestyle Pancakes ($16.50) and Matcha Latte ($7.50).
The pancakes were a tad on the drier side and the serving of fruits wasnât enough for all 3 pancakes.
The Matcha Latte though was great, rich and not too sweet, perfect for me.
There are a lot of chickens and birds in the area and if the outdoor tables arenât cleared fast enough once a patron leaves, the birds flock there for a feast.
And more often that not tables are left for a good 10 mins uncleared so birds are just everywhere at the table beside you.
I stood waiting at the âplease wait to be seatedâ for a good 10 minutes before any staff even approached me (the place was not full). The staff who served the food and drinks though were super friendly and pleasant.
Smoked Chicken Breast | Leeks | Mayonnaise | Scallions | Balsamic
Creamy smoked chicken pizza served on hand-pulled, wood fired pizza. It looked rather disappointing, with pretty measly portions of meat. The smoked chicken was thinly sliced - so thin that it appeared ham-like. I was expecting chicken chunks. Being so thinly sliced and sparsely spread out in the pizza also meant that there wasnât any âsmoked chickenâ taste nor bites from the chicken. It was rather disappointing. The cream, and the leeks were pretty good tho! But⊠would I pay $28 for leek, mayo pizza? Probably notâŠ
Thicc, chocolatey coffee drink with the right notes of coffee bean and chocolate. We enjoyed the fruity, orange-y notes. Seldom do we find a cafe serving up good orange mocha!
Met standards but nothing particularly exceptional. Itâs hard to go wrong with truffle isnt it? The aroma of truffle was wafted through as soon as the dish was served. There was sufficient truffle cream sauce to envelope every pasta strand. It was delightful, tho nothing exceptionally wowww about it
Sautéed Smoked Duck | Sriracha Cream | Mozzarella | Mayonnaise | Scallions
Thick cut fries fried in duck fat, then top- loaded with mayo, melted mozzarella and sriracha cream nicely blended into a creamy mix. There were some stretchy bits but there wasnât any prominent taste of cheese. I guess itâs kinda masked by the sriracha sauce. For those we canât take spicy foods, worry not! It wasnât spicy at all âŠ
1 small soft shell crab fried tempura style, served with linguini doused in tomato based sauce. Seafood-y enough for fans of seafood. I would have appreciated it a lilâ more if it wasnât tomato-based!
The chicken thigh was tasty with many spices! The rest of the dish was average (broccoli was hard). Bf gave me some of his tuna panini to try & it was WAY better!
This is the most affordable item on the menu for lunch. You can choose to have the eggs in fried, omelette or scrambled form. I liked that the scrambled eggs were soft and moist but not too buttery or creamy. The bread was too salty, but I liked that it was soft with a crisp toasted crust.
Came here with my friend for dinner.
Ordered their Bacon Mac & Cheese ($19). They offer 3 option of Non-Spicy, Mild, Very Spicy. I got the Very Spicy option and when it came the server emphasized the word Very Spicy. The aroma of the dish seemed really spicy which made me really excited. However, I was left disappointed as it did not live up to my expectations. If you were to compare the spiciness from a mala xiang guo it would at most be a ć°èŸŁ level. Taste wise it was not bad, tasted like a creamy barbeque sauce. Pasta was Al dente and there were a few pieces of bacon.
We also got their Churros ($12) 6 pieces which came coated with 5 spice sugar and chocolate sauce at the side. Honestly I didn't enjoy the 5 spice sugar coating, as it kind of reminds me of fried chicken cutlet. Would have prefer just cinnamon sugar coating.
Would I be back? I don't think so as I did wait quite some time at the entrance before I was let in.
