Tiny but interesting flavour. The kaya refers to the pandan custard filling. That cream at the top is butter with charcoal sea salt, which was way too overpowering.

Creme Brulle with an Asian twist
.
Using cempedak custard and topped with cempedak slices.
.
The sugar crust was a bit of a let down even though it's one of the few restaurants that use actual cempedak custard and actual cemepdak flesh

It’s that time of the year to reunite with loved ones and usher in prosperity and abundance as we celebrate the Year of the Rabbit 🥳

The colourful tradition of lo hei brings together families and friends during Chinese New Year, when everyone gathers around the table to toss yusheng. Luckily for me who have Muslim friends, I got my Yusheng from @heisushi the first halal Japanese belt sushi restaurant in Singapore (from the same people of @sakaesushisg ).

This Spring Yusheng consist of
Fresh Salmon Sashimi, White Radish, White Ginger, Red Ginger, Brown Melon, Carrot, Green Radish, Lettuce, Jellyfish, Candied Lime, Peanuts, Sesame Seeds and Pok Chui Crackers in Yu Sheng Plum Sauce. Very refreshing with the addition of jellyfish for more flavour.

Now I can toss with my Muslim friends and spread the joy and huat.

Brought to us by the same Innovative Food People who brought @sakaesushisg to the world, @heisushi is proud to be the first halal Japanese belt Sushi restaurant in Singapore.

Offering an extensive menu with over 200 varieties of delectable Japanese dishes. Apart from a wide selection of sushi, they also offer items such as mini baked rice with a variety of toppings, perfectly grilled yakimono items, fusion udon with Japanese sesame sauce topped with shredded cheese, hibachi (slow cooked on a grill plate) and nabemono (Japanese steamboat).

And of course, you can always sit at the conveyor belt and take your pick of what comes along which is always a fun part of eating at a sushi restaurant.

This oero dessert is good. Never expect a Japanese sushi to have a nice dessert but this come a pleasant surprise for me.

Very fresh sushi platter of assorted variety. Worth the price getting this platter.

This was my first time eating epok epok and it was so good!! Loved the potato one (kentang) - thin crunchy
flaky crust encasing soft creamy potatoes in a fragrant curry, the curry was rly quite nice, the blend of spices used was right up my alley. Not too spicy so I could fully appreciate the flavours. Sardine one was nice too but a little too spicy for me. The onions gave a nice sweetness! My bf loves sardine puffs and he rly enjoyed this one.

A v good first try of epok epok! Also they were piping HOT when we ate it so it was extra shiok. Queue can be quite long sometimes but that's good because the constant demand = fresh epok epok, as they constantly make new batches.

Legit thai food. Pad thai kway teow was flavourful and seafood were fresh and tender. Green curry was spicy with tender chicken. Ordered the fried stuffed chicken wing which was packed with ingredients. Pandan chicken was also tender. Thai milk tea and coconut milkshake also were good! The best part was the boss gave us a free marble cake because it was Mother's day. Just nice to celebrate Mother's day and really made my day since we didn't expect it. Good food and an unexpected cake. Wow 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏼

🍮 Salted Caramel Cream Puff ($4.50) (9/10)
I was expecting the pastry part of the cream puffs to be kinda like regular pastry skin, but the pastry skin actually has kind of a soft cookie crust! The cookie was really fragrant and sweet and I did not expect it at all. The salted caramel cream has a buttery and lightly salted taste, it's so generously stuffed. Really really good and so heavy 🏋️‍♀️

🌰 Nutella Cream Puff ($4) (9.3/10)
This one is my fav. The filling isn't really nutella, more like hazelnut-flavoured cream, and it is INCREDIBLE. The skin also has that really nice cookie layer that makes it all the more delicious. I'd actually love if this also had some chopped hazelnuts inside to further elevate it. But really amazing!

🥯 Cinnamon Bun ($4.50) (8.5/10)
This cinnamon bun is huge and it's so soft! Even after a few days in the fridge, it was still really soft and chewy after toasting with a prominent cinnamon taste.

Beside their popular boms, they also sell some buns as well.

The coffee butter bun is pretty similar to those you bought outside, with coffee topping and butter filling inside. Fluffy and not too oily. $3.90

Hidden inside East Village, there’s this bakery shop that attracted lots of people for it super attractive colours of boms display at the counter.

Was here right after they just open their shop and there’s already people crowding around.

You can preorder from website or just come early to buy them, as their boms are available for walk in sales.

Grab all 5 of them to make it a box for $22. They have a few flavours available depends on the day.

There’s kaya butter with pandan custard, whipped mascarpone cream and topped with salted butter.

The super red is filled with nutella inside, with whipped mascarpone cream and hazelnut praline on top.

The one topped with lots of cheddar and white chocolate is filled with light milky cream cheese inside.

Another one is topped with shinny caramel around the custard, with sea salt, caremel and cream filled within.

Last but not least is the perfect blend of hazelnut praline and milk chocolate. There’s also a hazelnut inside as well.
