We love our hawker food {Part III}. Being a typical Singaporean 🇸🇬, I spotted a queue that started forming before the stall’s official opening hours and quickly joined in the snaking line.✌🏻 I was finally rewarded with this prized dish in the largest portion, after a 20-minute wait. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Buried beneath the rich and savoury satay gravy, we uncovered a bountiful mix of fresh ingredients including cockles, prawns 🍤, sliced cuttlefish, prawns, sliced meat, tau pok [a.k.a. fried tofu puff], kangkong, beansprouts and beehoon [a.k.a. rice vermicelli]. In fact, every strand of beehoon and ingredient coated with the gloriously rich, thick and savoury peanut satay sauce is pure awesome-ness!

Absolutely delicious satay beehoon ($6.50 for large), one of the best in Singapore. The crowning glory is the gravy - thick and peanutty, and just the right amount to coat every strand of beehoon. Prawns, cuttlefish, pork slices, and a handful of veges completed the dish.
Cuttlefish Kangkong ($4.50 for small) gave a more sweet-spicy flavour as compared to the satay sauce. Reminiscent of the sweet sauce from ying tau foo, mix in the sambal for a strong spicy kick. This came with noodles ($5.50 without noodles).
Be prepared to queue. We started queueing at about 6+ and it was already almost a 30min wait. But so worth it.
The queues for Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon are insane! Managed to get to the store before they opened and there was already a queue. The ingredients used are super fresh and we rlly love the nutty sauce so much. Worth the queue!
Came here without checking their operating hour but I am lucky. I was here before 10am and they are opened despite indicating that they start from 11am. Here comes my heavy breakfast 🤣

There’s was queue even already past 8:30pm, luckily I managed to grab one plate before they closed early at 9pm (usual closing time is 10pm).
For $4, you could get the essentials portion of satay beehoon with their delicious satay gravy. Of course you can add money for more items such as the prawn.
Bee Hoon with gravy of peanut sauce that not too jelak ,tau pok, pork slices, prawn and cuttlefish..
💰$6
📍Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon.
51 Upper Bukit Timah Rd, #02-162.
This satay beehoon from Sin Chew is quite popular. So i decided to give it a try. I ordered $5 (you can choose between $4/$5/$6), the ingredients inside are quite generous, contains of tau pok, pork slices, prawn, cuttlefish.
I like it to be more flavourful though for the satay sauce. I thought it was going to be a thick sauce but not really (in my opinion).
The dish was okay. Many people like it! So worth the try.
Ordered $5 (minimum $4) as I was hungry and it clearly didn't disappoint me. The lean pork, cockles and prawn are fresh and the satay sauce is not those that are thick which can caused jelat and it can be addictive.
This stall has been featured in blog such as Thesmartlocal and television show. Forgot to take a picture of it so I'm using the picture I found online.
Sauce is very thick, rich and tasty! Generous with ingredients! It's one of the oldest stalls in the food centre.
Happy to have caught this stall opened since it's only opened 4 days a week! Long but fast-moving queue.
The portion of Beehoon given for $4 was pretty worth the price, but probably not the amount of ingredients (Kang Kong, Prawn, Sliced cuttlefish, Sliced pork) that went along although they were quite fresh. Perhaps that was why people in front and behind me requested to 加料! (add ingredients)
In my opinion, the secret that lies behind a good plate of satay beehoon is the peanut gravy. Was a little disappointed with the gravy for this as there wasn't much grounded peanut and the flavor wasn't strong enough to wow.

Pull up the beehoon and soft strands of white emerges from peanut gravy, picking up the creamy thick consistency well. So smooth on your tongue, it's gentle on satay spice and the fragrance of nuts with virtually no oil. More savoury than sweet, light on the heat, it carries notes of curry, giving you deep umami without being cloying. Take it in with the soft chew of cured cuttlefish, a slice of lean pork or their succulent prawns and cockles, fresh and cooked pink. Pair your mouthful with crunchy beansprouts and Kang Kong or tau pok that top it off.

You know Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon #02-162 ($6 large) is a must when it opens only four days a week and closes once ingredients are up. You'll spot the queue before you find it!

This elusive stall is only open four times a week and closes when it runs out of ingredients. Catch it open, and you'll find yourself waiting in line for at least 15 minutes, but it's worth it. There are only two items on the menu — Satay Bee Hoon (from $4) that comes with peanut gravy, and Cuttlefish Kang Kong (from $4) that comes with a sweet sauce. Tastemaker Zhihui Lim likes how the creamy peanut sauce in the Satay Bee Hoon is more "savoury than sweet, nutty and has a good balance of spice". She recommends this to those who can't take spice too well. Tastemaker Marc T, however, finds the spice level of the satay bee hoon a little too gentle for him but he likes the use of fresh ingredients like the prawns, cuttlefish, sliced lean pork, tau pok and kang kong.
Avg Price: $5 per person

3.5 munchies: Rice vermicelli cooked firm to the bite, drenched with sweet-savoury peanut gravy. The spice level of the sauce too gentle for me, though. Otherwise, I liked the thick consistency of the gravy that clung on to the bee hoon as well as the fresh ingredients including prawns, cuttlefish, sliced lean pork, tau pok, and kang kong. #BurppleBTFC
I'm always searching for a good plate of satay Beehoon and someone once told me I can find it in Beauty World. Glad I finally came down and tried it! It's no wonder the stall can afford to close for 3 days every week - it is really pretty good; but also expect a never-ending queue. I liked how it was slightly more savoury than sweet; nutty, good balance with just a tinge of Zhihui-friendly spiciness so people who can't take the heat but looooove satay beehoon this is it! Sauce itself was considerably smooth, would've been even better if we didn't let it sit for so long heh so keep the photo-taking to a minimum😛 Beehoon is soft but firm to the bite, with crunchy bean sprouts, kangkong, prawns and tender pork to top it all off.

Previously my friend @chuavernon order see he engchye beehoon version. This time round I am coming back with my foodies friend @carl_holmberg who trusted me that I got good food recommendation. The Cuttlefish Kang Kong without the beehoon is better because when u mixed it the bee hoon is more dry although the filling for the stomach make u full. @jiaknonstop @lepakwithyaops @chroniclesofgwennon just order without the beehoon remember to order their satay beehoon too
For those who wanna try pls prepared to Q up for 45 mins. The operation for lunch hours is during weekends & public holiday only. The other day the stall operates during dinner time only.
Operating Hours are my satay bee hoon address
This is using the Sweet Sauce Version. I believe most of people won"t like it. I can say it is Super Awesome The Cuttlefish is perfectly cooked not to hard nor soft it is chewable. The Kangkong is crunchy & it is crispy guess the stall owner know the time to soak the kangkong. Some call DewHe Eng Chye . @lepakwithyaops @jiaknonstop @chroniclesofgwennon this is must try too.
To Avoid Dissappointment pls call the stall to check if they still have enough ingredient so that u will not be disappointed. U can contact the stall owner at 98260782
Previously I was so dissappointed because the Satay bee hoon stall will usually closed early when the stall owner finished their ingredient I didn"t get the chance to eat. Finally I get to eat with my friend @chuavernon. I waited for abt 45 min to 1 hours just for a plate of satay bee hoon & Cuttlefish KangKong. The Stall used to be located East Road. The Stall was crowned Street Food Master in 2007. I can say the stall owner take pride in making their Satay Gravy Sauce they do not serve their gravy to Customer when it is cold. The satay gravy is Perfectly Balance Sweet spicy savory nutty & yet smooth. The Stall owner Blanced the bee hoon & leave it wet enough to further smoothen the gravy when it is poured onto the beehoon. The Cured Cuttlefish is done perfectly neither hard nor soft. The Cockles Fresh Lean Pork & Prawn are fresh & done perfectly. The Satay Beehoon Price Range is frm $3.50 ,$4.50,$5.50

Just to Inform u all that the stall closed 3 days & their business hours is short those wanna have lunch for satay beehoon it only avail in sat sun & public holidays

Sin Chew Satay Bee Hoon ($5.50) and Kang Kong cuttlefish ($3.50) is always one of the rave about stalls that make it to the must try list when visit the food centre.
The sauce with the kang kong and cuttlefish is sweet, similar to that of the sweet red sauce that you eat with yong tau foo. The cuttlefish was delightfully chewy with lots of bean sprouts to crunch on with every bite.
Overall, Sin Chew satay bee hoon has its uniqueness in the taste, those prefer the creamier gravy and less pungent in the peanut flavor may please with the dish.
